the touch screen on my ipod touch is not working. meaning that i can not unlock my ipod or even turn it off. is there anything i could to to get the screen to work again?
Try # 2 and 3 in link below. If neither work, your screen digitizer might need to be replaced.

One of my friends told me that you can trade in an iPod Touch 4th Generation and pay $100 for an iPod Touch 5th Generation. Is this true? If so then I want to trade it in.
You need to get friends with better information. They will not do trade-ins on iPods other than to give you 10% off the cost of the new one to recycle yours. You would be far better off to sell it privately and use the proceeds to buy a new one.

the screen on my 2nd gen ipod went dim very suddenly and i can't get it to go bright again! i went on the brightness settings but it doesnt seem to make a difference...
Try the standard fixes to rule out a sftware problem:
- Reset
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
If you still have the problem than an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
Buying new screen for my ipod touch
I'm Ipod touch user and i live in Egypt. My Ipod touch screen was broken and today i went to 3 Apple branches to replace my broken screen with a new screen and all of them said that it's very hard to replace a broken screen for ipod touch and we don't get this accessories.
I wonder how can i buy a product from a company like Apple, and finally i can't find accessories for my product and i can't find the customer support. It means that when i buy an Apple product, if any of it's accessories was broken for some reason, then i have to put it away and buy a new product. UN BELIEVABLE from a company like AppleIpod touch second Generation. I can see the items normally and the touch is working normally so it is the digitizer. The problem is that i'm living in Egypt and i don't know if there are any websites that make shipping to Egypt. Apple branches here are really bad and don't provide digitizers.
anyways thanks for your help very much -

Has software update nuked touch screen on my ipod touch 2G?
Hi,
I've noticed that my touch screen input on my iPod Touch 2G is almost unusable. There is a delay / lag between me touching the screen and the device responding to the input, sometimes it gets it wrong. e.g. When I'm unlocking it - it gets the numbers wrong.
I don't think I have damaged the device (e.g. water damage, etc) - but I do remember upgrading to the latest iOS, and it does seem like an OS issue - has anyone had a similar finding?
Thanks,
Prashant.Try to Reset your device:
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first).
If this doesn't help, try a Restore. -

Then restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Touch screen issue on iPod touch 5
About 1,5 months I broke my iPod's screen, but it still worked fine. 4 days ago the sensor started to... turn off (don't even know how to name it): I just browse the internet or play a game and the screen just stops responding. If I lock it, I can unlock it normally and use my iPod again for a few minutes until it turns off again. What is it? Can I fix it without any screen replacement (I really think it's not the screen issue, btw)?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. Culd be that the damage caused bu dripping progressed and is causing the problem
