My touch screen won't work.

Okay so I was messing around with my iPhone 3G and next thing I know is that it wouldn't let me unlock it for the lock screen. I can play music from the lock screen but that's it. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

IOS7 installed OK to my iPhone 4S and worked OK for a while but I have somehow managed to completely jam my iPhone 4s. The touch screen won't work except for up and down gestures (some of the time). I can't make or answer calls, I can't even power if off. I can't access the hardward ID which Apple support seems to require for Chat.
It might have happened when I was accessing my camera bypassing the lock screen!
All I know is that the thing is now useless and it looks like I will have to wait for the battery to run down to see if powering it back up afterwards will solve the problem.

I have since discovered the "hold down home key and power button" together for a few seconds and this seems to have worked .... phew!

  • Touch screen won't work, and it's on lock

I have this ipod that I've been trying to fix for someone, as well as load up songs from itunes. I've successfully synced songs to it to it's full capacity (8G). However, when it was done, I ejected it and tried to listen to it to see if it was working properly. The screen is locked, as well as the touch screen isn't working as if it's completely dead. I've never had this problem as I am familiar with Ipod Touches and Nanos. Does anyone have any remedies or suggestions?? Gonna try other things in the meantime.

Hi Wazzup483, Im having the same problem you had. Screen locked, touch screen not responding and it won't stop playing music. It licked while I was listening to music. Took out my pocket and it was locked, guess I hit something.
    HELP :o)
    Thanks

  • Encore WT8 touch screen won't work, prevents me from logging in

I have just bought this tablet but it is a Dabs refurbished model, so not sure of its history. I went through the setup process and brought it on holiday. I discovered that once it was setup, every time it went into sleep mode or was powered off, the touch screen became unresponsive after it powered back up. I don't have an OTG cable, or a keyboard/mouse for that matter. In a small town where it won't be possible to buy one. May just have to wait until I get back and can use a cable and keyboard to log in. Not sure what the pattern is but from time to time, it has reacted to touch and allowed me to log in. When it did, I performed all windows updates, including drivers that were suggested. I have an old XP laptop which I am using now and once when I plugged it in via USB, it got the screen working for long enough to let me log in but that won't work now.  I tried to log in from my Lumia using RDP but it says it can't. May just be the version of 8.1 that's on the tablet.  I can get into the BIOS menu and the touch screen works in there. It is at V2.00 and the tablet is a PDW0AE-00900PEN Any other suggestions or should I give up and enjoy my holiday?

The screen rotates as normal. I tried resetting the device but it doesn't work. In the device manager, it shows that the I2C HID device has a problem. It fails to start. This doesn't change after a reset. I dug a little deeper and the driver is hidi2c.sys. There doesn't seem to be a newer version of the driver. I did some reading and found people commenting that Toshiba aren't very good at fixing this sort of driver issue. it also may be that a windows update has caused a conflict which may be fixed by Microsoft. Either way, I can't see any way for me to fix this besides resetting my tablet to factory and preventing windows updates. I may do that once I am somewhere with more resources around me.

  • My touch screen won't work when I wan to listen to music.

When I try t scroll or touch any buttons while in the "Music" option, I can't do anything. The touch screen works for absolutely everything else, but the Music. Has anyone else had this problem?

Scroll where? What buttons are you trying to activate? When you double click the Home button you can only use the bottom row, that is where the Music controls are located. You can't activate the top part of the screen

  • Micro USB problem. Touch screen won't work after c...

    Hi
Ihave tryed today to connect my Nokia Lumia 710 to my PC. I put my micro usb into my phone and everything was fine. Then i plugged the USB into my computer and the touch sceen wouldn't work probarly.

    Hi jojo100232,
Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum.
What you are describing may be caused by your PC not being earthed correctly. Have you tried to see what happens if your connect your Lumia 710 to a regular wall charger? I'd suggest checking the power connection for the PC and verifying the earth connection is correct. It may also be an earth loop if you for instance have your PC connected to your Stereo set. In this case you might try isolating the PC fro your other equipment by removing these connections and trying again. In these cases you might want to consider using a ground loop isolator.
    Hope this helps,
    Kosh

  • Touch screen won't work - can it be fixed?

My i touch was dead, so I recharged and restored it using the backup in itunes. It looks 'normal' now and turns on and off, but the screen is non-responsive to touch.  There's no Apple store nearby, so I just want to know if it can be fixed - at least enough for me to access my calendar. Thanks, Wendy

You only possible fix is to try restoring to factory defualts/new iPod.

  • Touch screen won't work?

    Try these tests.
    First test:
If you use a Screen Protector.
Check that it is not stuck between the screen and the frame.
If it is pushing down on the screen then this will cause your device to respond to that false 'Tap'
Best is take the Screen Protector off to test properly.
Also, you may have some 'dirt' trapped between the screen and the frame.
Take a piece of stiff paper (business card works) and drag it between the screen and the frame and see if any dirt etc comes out.
Do not use too much force, just drag.
Soft Reset and go to Prefs and try to Calibrate the Touchscreen.
If that does not fix the problem then.....
    Second test:
Do a backup and after backing up all your info, do a Hard Reset and while still in this 'factory state' (no added apps) and no Screen Protector go to the Notepad application, tap on the screen then tap exactly on top of the original dot.
Keep doing this so that there are many dots at different areas of the screen.
Does the second tap register in same place or in a different place?
If in a different place do a Soft Reset then try to Calibrate Touchscreen and test again.
If still in a different place then you have a Hardware problem.
If you are still under warranty then contact Palm support to get a replacement.
If you are no longer under warranty I suggest you have a look at
    UsedPdaParts @
    http://www.usedpdaparts.com/
Don't worry they use NEW parts, they have an excellent reputation and fair prices
If you can Calibrate the TouchScreen immediately after a Hard Reset and have no problems with the TouchScreen (see Second Test) then it is probably a Software/Application conflict and you need to find the bad Application and remove it.
All the best, woz of oz

  • IPod touch 3G won't work after falling in water? Help!

Ok it's been 3 months since my iPod touch fell in the...toilet. I immediately put it in rice after pushing all the buttons. It was only in the water for a second. When I picked it up the screen was dim, flickering, then when black. I wiped it off and put it in rice. I left it in rice for about four days. I finally plugged it up to the charger and after 20 minutes it came on. It told me I needed to plug it up to iTunes so I did. I restored it and when it was restored I tried to slide the bar at the bottom of the screen but it would never register. So I let it die and when I charged it again it wanted me to restore it AGAIN! I've restored it about five times!! Each time the touch screen won't work and it doesn't hold a charge very well. Also every time it does it wants me to restore it. What's wrong with it and how can I fix it? Oh and the home button doesn't work.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

  • I cant open apps on my iPhone 4 the touch screen doesn't work.  I have restored my phone and still nothing works.

I can't open apps on my iPhone.  The touch screen doesn't work.  I have restored it already but it still won't work.  What can I do.

If the touch screen is not having any response then you probably have a hardware failure. Take your phone to an Apple Store or authorised service provider to have it checked.

  • Wacom Intuos Tablet Touch Function Won't Work On Mac OS X

    Hi there,
I recently purshased a Wacom Intos pen & touch tablet, model CTH-480. But the touch function won't work.
I've done the following, but it still won't work:
    1. Re-install the driver to the latest. (Driver Driver 6.3.8-2 from http://us.wacom.com/en/support/drivers/)
    2. Turned on the switch on the tablet. Whenever I touch the tablet, the blue signal light at the top-right corner will be on.
    3. In the app named "Wacom Desktop Center", the "Touch Settings" shows "Touch On". So the software is configured well.
    4. In the "System Preferences" --> "Walcom Tablets", the "Touch Options" is available and is able to configure. There's no option there which saya "Enable Touch Input" as seen in some tutorials online.
The other functions are perfect. I can use the pen, I can set custom functions to all buttons on the tablet.
Someone meet similar problems before? I sincerely appreciate your help!
    Best Regards,
A new Walcom user in desperate

I had the same exact problem. No matter what I did, tablet LED lights and diagnostic testing mode indicated touch sensors working but no corresponding screen functions. This included removing the app/plist installation through CleanMyMac 2 and a subsequent reinstall. You may have fixed your problem by now but Wacom customer support sent me this advice within a day and it worked for me on first try.  Touch gesture and pen functions seem to work equally well now.
Key is to use the uninstall utility within the Wacom app itself.
Thank you for contacting Wacom Customer Care. The problem that you received maybe cause by a corrupted driver file. While you may have already reinstalled the driver, please follow these specific instructions:
Open your Applications folder and locate any Tablet or Wacom Tablet folders you have
Use the Utility in each of these folders and click ‘Remove’ under ‘Tablet Software’
Once the software is removed, restart the computer
Once this is complete, download and install the latest 6.38 driver from: (Current as of Aug 2014)
    http://cdn.wacom.com/u/productsupport/drivers/mac/professional/WacomTablet_6.3.8 -2.dmg
As always, make sure your tablet is connected directly to your computer. Avoid using USB hubs, keyboard/monitor ports, or docking stations with the tablets, as they can cause inconsistent behavior.

I cannot use my ipad2 because the touch screen doesn't work at all. First I cannot unlock it or do anything in the screen!!!! Why?

Have you tried a reset To see if that fixes it ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
