I have windows 8.1 and firefox won't play youtube videos but IE will. I have tried reinstalling firefox, flash, java. Resetting firefox don't help, disabled hardware acceleration, protected mode 0 in the mms.cfg file. Nothing will play on youtube in firefox. It says "an error has occured, please try again later". The ads play fine though. Everything plays fine in IE. I have tried different versions of flash also with no luck. I even restored the system to a previous iso image with no luck. Does anyone have a solution?

It maybe because your javascript is disabled .
You can check the javascript.enabled pref on the about:config page.

ITunes won't play quicktime videos on Mac anymore.

MacBook Pro 2.6Ghz 4GB ram
iTunes won't play my video anymore and it's been a while I'm not sure when it occured if it's after an update to snow leopard or iTunes updates...
When I double click a video I get "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes." ??
...and cannot convert the option doesn't work I get this other message when trying to convert a version for APPLE TV in advanced menu "None of the selected files were converted because they could not be found."??
But the movies are quicktime movies in my library and the MPEG-4 plays in iTunes but not on APPLE TV.
From all my videos I get one only going through APPLE TV and when I try opening it it says error occured why opening and never works??
It seems APPLE is regularly messing things up in updates to loose people so they have to pay for tech support, I didn't upgrade to iPhoto 11 and cannot import anything anymore into it so my entire library is a dead one ; not a cool way to do business than messing people software so they have to buy newer versions!!!
Any specialists that know how to fix this ??

The 32-bit solution has never, I repeat, never worked for me. I've even done a full reinstall on a clean drive of OSX Lion with a fresh install of iTunes downloading a video of "The Big Bang Theory" that just came out this last thursday and still get the error (just finished the full reinstall to a clean drive now and, no, I didn't do any backup restores.)
The only solution I've found is to remove the video from iTunes, without deleting the file, then import the file back into iTunes.
Switching to 32-bit iTunes to run the file causes iTunes to tell me it needs to open iTunes to play the file then it sits and waits for itself to open until I cancel the process. The video then plays without audio.
I have noticed that I can stream the files to my Apple TV to play even while getting the error trying to play them on the computer I downloaded the files onto.
As a result of this error, I've had to reduce the amount of content I purchase from iTunes. no more buying whole seasons at a time unless I do it at the start of the season. Even then, I'm reconsidering it. The amount of work required to get the files into a playable status on the computer is simply too great on an on-going basis.

How to play embedded video in PDF

Hi, does anybody know if it's possibible to play embedded video in PDF. We created PDF's with embedded MP4 content that plays nicely in Adobe Reader Win/Mac version but not under Android.

Flash wont play embedded videos only on some accounts

Here is my system and software configuration. Windows7 - IE8 32 bit -- latest Flash version. Flash plays embedded videos under administrator account but not on the other user accounts. Youtube and tests on adobe site shows flash working on all accounts. I've checked IE security settings and kill bit in the registry. Harware acceleration does not make a difference. I've unloaded and loaded Flash multiple times even in the other accounts changing account type to administrator temporarily. Nothing will make it work. I've checked firewall and Norton AV turning them on and off. I am out of ideas and out of patience. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, just wanted to tell this is exactly the same problems I have. And I have tested like you said. My administrator user account can show embeded videos correctly, but both my non-adm user account can not show correctly embeded. And tried to change non-adm account to adm - did not help.
System: Vista home, IExplorer 9
Videos on Youtube.com plays perfect and the adobe "about" flash page shows I have installed latest and I see a spinning logo with my non-adm users.
I have also checked the kill-bit in registery.
But I did find out something, unfortunally it's not a solution, but a clue what's going on - I hope.
If I open this example webpage, all I can see are 2 blank frames and a icon in upper left corner.

After alot of search on the web, I found some ideas. Copy the below text and save it as "test.html", and open the file in IExplorer. This html text is a mix of collected html-text from above webpage and added some from youtube.com where you get the html-code to copy&paste to embed. The source at end is using IFRAME methode.
The only visible embeded sources using my non-adm account are those that has a "classid" added or IFRAME methode. If there is no "classid" my non-adm account only sees a blank frame and icon in upper left. My administrator account does see ALL sources.
But how to fix that I can see all embeded as non-adm user - sorry, I have no clue
One extra thing: I noticed when running IExplorer as non-adm user, I can see a line in the process-list in windows taskmananger, process-name "FlashUtil10n_ActiveX.exe" with info-text "Adobe Flash Player Installer/Uninstaller 10.2r152" if I try to view a webpage with flash source.
If I do the same thing with my administrator user this process is not listed in windows taskmanager.

Hey guys, here's my problem.
I had some major issues with OSX last week that a trip to the Apple Store couldn't fix. Their only advice was to save all my pictures, music, documents, etc. and reformat. I did that yesterday. I reinstalled everything and then downloaded all the most recent updates.
Today, I can play all the music I own in iTunes (music imported from CDs, bought from other sites, and music bought from iTunes itself). However, it won't play any of the music videos I have (all bought off iTunes).
I have authorized the computer again and again. When I try to open the videos in Quicktime it tells me that I don't have permission to play them and that I need to authorize the computer.
I'm lost. Any help?

Yup, this Audio but no Video WAS exactly the same trouble I was having, on my MacBook and iMac but not the other 2 MacBooks. This was due to the speaker settings at the bottom right hand corner of the iTunes window. I do use multiple speakers via Airtunes, on the two that were having trouble but not the other two, and although the speakers were only set to the computer it still wouldn't play the video content.
Whilst the audio (of the music video) was playing I then went to reselect multiple speakers, which brought up the "*failure to connect to remote speakers network refused connection*" warning, then I unchecked the remote speakers to leave just the "Computer" and hey presto the video came to life.

My ipod touch won't play via the new docking station I got for xmas. Wors with a 3.5mm connector but not on the ipod connection itself. Seems like other ipods and iphones work on it but not mine. what can I do to fix this?

- Does your iPOd have iOS 5 and do the other devise have an earlier version?
- Some users have reported that some docks no longer worked after updating to iOS 5/5.0.1
- What the dock maunufacturer's support site say about compatibility wth your model iPod and iOS?

In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them), particularly any DivX extension to Safari. ITunes 7.4 won't play music videos

When I doubleclick on a music video, iTunes 7.4 won't play the video, only the music. Music videos where playing fine with prior versions of iTunes. No matter which option I choose in the Video Playback preferences, iTunes won't launch the video. Restarting iTunes didn't bring back music video playback either. Podcasts and Movies are playing just fine though.

I had the same problem and I landed here - OS10.7, had iTunes 10.5.2 *thinking* it was playing - acts like it was?, shows pause icon - no audio, no actual playback. ...Scrubber dot didn't move onPlay click. (And, dam, I was hungry for music!), but.. That's where I discovered it. Of course, I had browser audio probs, too - YouTube, Hulu - and Skype - any app output audio was affected...
   I struggled with this for at least a day! Frustrated, I took out my other OS10 boot drives and tried troubleshooting... No dice. I halted CoreAudioD (whew) out of desperation... I checked my audio lines.. Then I remembered I installed a trial of ProTools with an Avid audio driver (maybe looking for Digi-approved devices) at around the time of trouble.
     My SysPref audio panel was showing only Avid's device - no line in, no ext spkr.. So, I ran the ProTools uninstaller to try that. That's where EVERYTHING went back to absolutely normal! (After the restart). SysPref Audio panel shows all! I selected LineOut (for me), and I got it.
     iTunes and other audio-service-consuming apps suddenly didn't take 4 minutes to launch!, and my Lion install was like I first had it. ProTools has a dedicated uninstaller - install that clean. If you have a PT install that works, check the iLok config - my iLok is active and attached, but not for PT 10. Maybe it's avid device->CoreAudio, may it's due to the PT trial???... Whatever it was, for me, the problem lied there.

After upgrading to version 4.0.2, my ipod touch won't play music from the beginning. This happens no matter I play music in iTunes or using my ipod touch without connecting to the computer. I restarted the device and this still happens. What can I do about it? Can anyone help?

Double check each track to make sure the *Remember Playback Position* option has not been abled from under the Options tab of the track's *Get Info* window in iTunes.

Can't play embedded videos in Safari

I'm using Version 6.0.2 and I can't play embedded videos. Youtube is fine but if someone includes a video in a blog post, for example, there's a big white blank space where the vid is supposed to be. It happens in both Safari and Firefox. I've paused AdBlock and can't think of what else might be causing the problem. I'm running Virus Barrier X6, if that's any help, although it hasn't been a problem in the past. Could it be an extension?

After some messing around, I found out that I can't press the red/white play button on the middle of the picture. For some reason, that isn't clickable anymore. Instead, if I press anywhere on the picture preview except for the red/white play button, then the video will play fine.
I Don't remember having to do that before, but at least I can watch embedded videos again.

it came to my attention that my Safari (latest version) won't play any video on the site "www.collegehumor.com". YouTube and every other popular site works fine for me. After googling this problem, I tried to play the videos with a different user; without success. After that, I uninstalled the Flash Player and reinstalled it (latest version), because this was suggested by my google searches... but I still can't play any video on collegehumor.com.
Has anyone any idea what the problem might be?

Why won't swf file play embedded videos?

I created a swf file in inDesign. I embedded 3 videos within the document, all of which are embedded (stored on my host's server). I created the videos in Premiere Pro, saving them as H.264 (mp4), with sound codec AAC. I placed each video on its appropriate page in inDesign using the media dialogue box, choosing a poster image and a set of controls that become visible when hovered over. The swf file I placed onto a webpage in Adobe Muse, then uploaded that page to its host. When the website comes up, and I click on the page that holds the swf file, it looks good ... I have page-turning applied, and that works fine. But, when I go to click on a video, the frame just disappears.
Here's the caveat: After saving the swf file, I opted for it to open in my browser window. When inspecting the file in the browser, the videos work fine.
I have opened the webpage in Chrome, Firefox & IE, but the videos won't play.

Please help, if you can. I would hate to have to start over by rebuilding every single page in inDesign file inside of Muse (since Muse can't take a PDF file. I thought about saving each ID page as a jpg, then building a fullscreen slideshow in Muse, then placiing each page inside of the slideshow presentation .. then writing html code into those jpg pages in order to link my videos from vimeo or youtube ... but I dont' want to go that route. I've put in way too many hours as it is.
