Hi candy, glad that you found that Shockwave Flash Object, it works with the Flash files and is very important
The NPSWF files that you said are not there, those are for the Firefox browser or Chrome or some other browser. If you use Firefox and want the Flash Player for that, then close all of your browsers so you are only looking at your Desktop.
Click on this Flash Player Installer for Firefox and SAVE it to your Desktop. Then RUN it from your Desktop, and after it is finished Installing, Restart your computer.
Then Using Firefox go to the plug-ins and find a SWF vs 10.0.45.2 and make sure it is Enabled. This is just like the Shockwave Flash Object for Internet Explorer, but it is the one that works with Firefox.
Let me know if that is what you wanted to do. If you don't use Firefox, but Chrome or another browser, then this will work for that one also.
If you don't use another browser, then don't do any of this. I just thot maybe you did and that is why you were concerned that the NPSWF files were not there.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Firefox 4 does not work on my G5. After prompting me to update from previous version I am now left with nothing functioning. How do I go back?

After downloading the latest update Firefox kindly told me I should upgrade to V4. So I did. I downloaded it, dropped it into my applications folder and overwrote the old version. Only to be told when attempting to start the application "Firefox does not work with this architecture".
Brilliant. So I look for an older version on the site, and there is nothing to be found. Just the insistance that I should download version 4 for my Mac. Well, "IT DOESN"T WORK GUYS!"
Now can we have a fix please quickly or a link to the older version, as I am now left without all my bookmarks or passwords and you are about to effectively isolate a section of the computing community from ever using you again.

For your toolbars that you had installed before, are they simply incompatible with the latest version of Firefox?

As for Firefox running slow, is it slow lading web pages, or is just the whole browser slow? Try reading [[Firefox is slow|Firefox is slow]] , which may have some tips (the optimize Windows part especially).

Sign-in doesn't work properly; need to sign in all the time between windows although signed in for 2 weeks.

popup appears out of nowhere reading "We noticed you may have signed in or signed out in another window. Click OK to reload your page" Leads you to sign in again.
This is not a problem with the old Flock, Chrome, or IE, just Firefox.
It appears that anytime one leaves mail or personal home page and goes to a website, a sign-in is required to get back to mail or personal homepage.
I have run out of ideas using tools-options, etc. setups.

Cleared everything, several time over several days, no change.
Still have not diagnosed the problem and I have made a lot of changes, including re-loading M.FireFox 4.0.1 with ATT Yahoo vers. 1.8
It sometimes appears that the sign-in times out, although I tried signing in for 2 weeks and also 1 day. ATT Yahoo has a sign-in seal one can setup and use. It is fine and works only that one day or until one signs out, than it is history.

I had an update on ios and my camera works like it did. I was fooling around and found the camera icon at the bottom of my ipod next to the "slide to unlock" bar. If

Having a problem getting transitions to work in FC X. Can someone help me?

I am quite familiar with imovie and how transitions work. When I try and use them in FCX they wont stay in the frame. I get the + sign showing me that it is adding the transition but the transition doesn't stay in the film strip. What am I missing. I have gone through the tutorials and it seems quite straight forward. Can someone help me out there? Is it a key command I am missing.

It's easy once you find the way. I'm assuming the clip you are referring to is above the main storyline clip, just say, the second clip up. You have to make that clip a storyline clip, right click on the clip and you'll see it. Then, add the transition. Now, here's the trick, if you only add the transition, it may affect the clip below. Once again, right click that clip and create a compound clip, it should work. I had that issue with a 3D animated logo with an alpha channel. Added a blur filter and it affected the clip below, but when I changed it to a compound clip, it was perfect. Not sure of why they did that, but I can guarantee you there is a good reason. I'm loving FCX.

Upgrade E31 Thinkstation from Windows 8 pro to 8.1 Pro

Does anyone know if it's possible to upgrade the E31 from windows 8 to windows 8.1. I just got one with windows 8 pro preloaded and hate the metro functionality. I read 8.1 gets rid of that but I don't see the E31 on lenovos list of supported desktops to upgrade to windows 8.1 Has anyone tried this?
Also if not possible, would anyone reccomend downgrading back to windows 7 pro. I'm looking into this as an option but there is no COA sticker on my computer, it was a Lenovo Manufactured Refurb, so i don't know how to do this although I know a downgrade is supported.

My suggestion would be to maybe swing by a best buy or something like that and get some hands-on time with a system that has windows 8.1 on it before you dive into a decision. My experience with windows 8.1 (though admittedly rather limited) is that the metro screen is still very much alive in it. You might not get the look and feel of win7 that it appears you are looking for.
I think in order to get a win7 downgrade license from Lenovo, it would have had to have been purchased that way with the machine when you bought it. You should certainly be able to install a licensed version of win7 retail on it if you so choose.

Satellite PRO A200-1S1 with Windows 7 x32. Touchpad doesn't work

I Installed Windows 7 on my Satellite Pro A200-1S1, retrieved all the drivers on Toshiba site, everything works fine (less than the web camera that didn't work even with previous s.o. XP or Vista...). But my Touchpad doesn't work at all.... No Fn+F9, no driver, nothing works. And in my control panel-device manager seems to be everything ok.
Any suggestion?

Never had any problems with the touchpad using Win 7 32bit.
I recommend installing VAP (value added package) and Flash Card Support Utility to get the FN button functionality. Then you could try FN + F9
Both tools can be downloaded from Toshiba European driver page there you should choose Sat L500 series because I didnt find mentioned Win 7 software for A200 series.
Check also the touchpad drivers which I found in L500 download area (Alps a Synaptics)

Hello,i have G580 i'v done an upgrade from 8.1 to windows 10so i'v have a small issue with touchpad :Fn+F6 to lock touchpad doesn't work when it was working as well in 8.1scrolling line at touchpad doesn't work to. so how to fix it, or will lenovo release drivers for windows 10 as she did for previous windowsis getting newer driver from elantech or synaptic website will resolve the problem ? cuz i did install 8.1 driver elantech and keyboard+mouse stopped working before reseting windows 10 upcoming driver. I have the same problem. Untilthey update the ELAN driver I go in to Settings, Devices, Mouse and Touchpad, Additional Mouse Options and disabel the ELAN driver. You can still turn it back on with Fn F6, but you have to go through the same steps again to turn it off. The nice thing is, it doesn't go back to enabled after awhile when you havent' been using the laptop.for awhile as it did before. The bad side is it takes about half a dozen key strokes to get to he disable. Hope this helps for now.

Touchpad doesn't work after cleaning out the dust collection in the fan, heat sink area. New Therma paste was applied.
Both the keyboard & touchpad were the 2 things that didn't work following reassembly. The keyboard didn't work but able to use USB wireless mouse. Couple days ago the replacement battery finally arrived, installed and charged for 12 hours. After restart, the keyboard works as it should.
Unfortunately, touchpad still doesn't work. The light switch above the touchpad works, clicking on it turns white & amber but any movement scrolling doesn't work.
We tried the following, but unsuccessful
double tapping top left corner
Hard Reset
Uninstalled ALPS & Synaptics -- reinstalled , restarted
Updated Windows, HP, BIOS, Drivers
Don't recall during reassembly if touchpad has a cable or connector. If so, perhaps worth try to disconnect & reconnect to ensure correct connection.
What do u advise to try next?

Did you connect the ribbon cable for the Touchpad. Often times there is one for the keyboard and one for the touchpad separately. Hopefully you have not damaged the ribbon cable. Just make sure you push it all the way in and seat it properly.

[SOLVED]Keyboard and touchpad doesn't work after reboot from Arch

Excuse me, but i'm a newbie. I'm not sure if this is an arch problem, but i will just post it here.
I've beening using Arch64 and it works just fine. However, every time i reboot from arch into Windows 7 (32bit), the keyboard and touchpad will stop responding just when the Win7 splash screen shows, however the mouse works fine. Then when you shutdown the computer (from win7 now) it will take apparently longer time, and sometimes i have to press the power key 5 seconds to make it shutdown.
It seems the correct way (to reboot from arch to win7) is to shutdown down the computer first and start it again, and everything will work fine.
And rebooting from win7 to win7 or arch to arch or win7 to arch will work fine too.
I'm glad to post extra information, but I've got no clue and i'm not sure what to put here.
The laptop is a Lenovo Y450 with Intel Core Dual P7540, 4G Memory, NV GT240M. Kernel version of Arch is 3.0.6 (but the problem existed long since earlier versions) I don't have a swap partition. If you need extra information, please mention the item.

That is indeed strange. Since your external mouse works fine (which probably is connected via USB, right?) it appears that the problem lies somewhere around the internal keyboard/touchpad access. I'm not sure how this works with a Lenovo Y450, but just try to enter BIOS (in case you have not been there, you probably have to hit F1 or F2 during startup - less likely it would be delete or escape ...) and look for your keyboard/touchpad options.
You should probably find something like "... legacy support ...". This is a relic from PS/2 times and emulates your internal input devices as PS/2 devices. So - when found, just change the setting (you cannot mess anything up, and both systems will probably not even pop up a message). My guess is it is set to "enabled" and Arch somehow messes with the PS/2 emulation in your case .... so just turn it off.

You did turned in Settings > General > Usage > Battery Percentage: ON?
Try a
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data
