My touchscreen AND homescreen are not working on my 4g iPod touch. What should I do?

My 4g iPod touch does not have a warranty anymore.
Earlier today, the home button stopped working: it feels like it is permanently pressed down and I can't fix it. I tried plugging in my charger but it didn't help.
I got Assistive Touch but then I tapped on 'Favourites' and the pinch thing came up in my lock screen. Then, the touchscreen jut stopped working, so I am stuck with that in my lock screen and only my lock button works.
How do I restart or switch off my iPod (using only the lock button and not the touch screen or home button)
OR how do I restart it via iTunes on my computer?

I sent my ipad to a company for repair.
They posted it back and had not repaired it, they asked me to send it back so they could repair...again.
I have had a couple of emails saying it cant be fixed and they would return it to me, this has not happened.
Everytime i phone the company they take my number and never call me back.
The pad can no longer be tracked on find my ipad.
They have emailed me saying they dont have any information for me.
What can i do?

That would be a matter for local authorities - small claims court, a lawyer, whatever. You have to follow up and stay on them and get whoever you need to get involved in the matter that can provide help. Depending upon where you live (if in the U.S.) maybe even the Better Business Bureau - or any local watchdog group that helps in cases like this.
I don't know where you live, but in my town, I would contact the district court or magistrate and ask for his advice. There is nothing that anyone here can do foryou and Apple would be of no help either. This is not their responsibility.

The speakers and headphones do not work on my new ipod touch 4g

I just purchased my ipod yesterday and synced it with itunes. When I try to play a song it looks like it is playing on the screen but I have no volume from the speaker or when headphones are connected.

Thank you - I have done this now but resetting and restoring from another device didn't really help. However, syncing via iTunes was a bit more successful as it occurred to me that many of my contacts are in MS Outlook on my PC and I was able to copy them over. There are still some contacts missing and I am continuing to try and figure out where they originate from to try and get them to show up.

I'm using MBP 15" late 2008 with Maverick OS. A couple of days ago, the internal keyboard and trackpad are not working at all. I did all the troubleshooting. I even reformat it; installing the snow leopard and re-installing the maverick but no good result. I believe there's no problem with my keyboard because i can still do PRAM on my lappy. Everytime i'm booting up my MBP, it always looking for bluetooth trackpad and keyboard. I have not used those bluetooth peripherals from day 1 i've started using MBP. I just read on the internet about the same problem has happened on MBP 13" retina and APPLE fixed it by updating the software. I wish Apple will also do something for the old MBP to fix the intermal keyboard and trackpad problem.

Once I wrote my password, and for now on, everytime I start the session, another window advise me that "Java SE 6" is missing, due that, the computer can't run some "CS5Service Manager". If I try to install it, the download ends with an error. If finally, you skip the istallation, you arrive to the dock, but the menu bar at the top of the screen doesn't show up.
In addition, my trackpad doesn't works either. I can move the arrow but i can't click anywhere, probably because the option of clicking by touching is disabeled and I can't performance a regular click.
I'll be very glad if someone know what the heck is happening with my computer. Anyway, I'm going to the genius bar next Saturday. Thx!

It could be either Hardware or Software related, so try the following and let me know.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu. Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete. Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

hi i have had my hp windows 7 lap top for 2 years and never had a problme but recently my speakers and microphone are not working even if i put in my headphones i have installed new audio drivers checked my sound settings and did a restore to a date and a factory reset and still no sound ( my speakers say there working the geen bar goes up and down showing the volume but still no sound) please help me thanks

Everything was working fine until about two weeks ago, all of the sudden airplay has disappeared from the iphone, itunes on the laptop, and the apple remote for iphone. I have restarted the router many times, re-setup the airplay speaker and the airport express and booth are showing as being properly connected to the router when I log into the router IP address. I was on the phone with Apple support for 30 minutes they blames verizon, got on the phone with verizon and they stated the settings were all correct and compatible with apple, got back on the phone with apple and they again are blaming verizon and trying to get me to get an airport extreme because that would fix the problem...any suggestions, please!

There are three Airport resets, soft, hard and factory default. It would probably be beneficial if you tried each one in sequence. Actually, you could jump to the factory default reset if you don't mind reconfiguring from scratch.

Try the following.
