My touchscreen is not working

I recently bought a Pavilion 23 Desktop with touchscreen but the screen is no longer responding to touch. Any ideas on how to fix it?

I understand that the touchscreen on your recently purchased HP Pavilion 23 Desktop is no longer working. I would be happy to assist you with this, but first I would encourage you to post which operating system you are using. And whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit as with this we can provide you with accurate information.
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

    My TX2500Z touchscreen does not work after I upgraded to Windows 7. I cannot find any support or drivers, etc. to fix.  I bought Windows 7 directly from HP specific to my P/N and S/N on my TX2500Z.  Any help? Thanks.

    after 2,5 days (spending half a day within the apple shop as well with this problem) i have it all back on track.
    i did a lot of different things: trying to remove and reinstall iPhoto; did a SL installation over the old SL I had on my HD; backing up all the data of course before and reformatting my HD and installing a new clean SL version on it + a new clean version of iLife9 with all the updates and than I migrate with migrate assistant all the data and setting with time machine back onto it, but all this didn't work, because it also migrated the error/bug through time machine with it.
    so at the end i just installed a brand new, clean SL version on my hard drive, than I did the updates and put all my data, photos, docs, movies, mail, bookmarks, music, etc manual back into the system (drag and drop from my external HD, where i had an exact copy of my internal HD) and did all the settings again in all the different programs.
    the only thing i used migrant assistant with time machine for was for the programs. it seems to work now all fine and i even got more free space on my HD, because some of the old stuff i always carried with me but i never used, i didn't take over.
    basically everything is clean now. At least i hope and works fine. touch wood!

    To rule out a software problem
    - Reset:
    Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
    button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
    If still a problem you have a hardware problem.

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
    Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup...  Restore as New...
    Restart / Reset

    If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...

    This fixed the phone.
    Turned phone off, holding on/off button and home button till after apple logo, when it goes black again.
    Logged onto iCloud, remove device from Find my iPhone.
    Updated ITunes
    Plugged phone into computer
    Held on/off button and home button till after apple logo, until it went black, then only held home button
    Phone goes into recovery mode.
    ITunes registers phone as asks if you would like to restore phone to factory settings.
    Once restore down, phone worked.
    Lost everything other than contacts which were backed up to iCloud. (Lesson learnt - back up device.)

    Please press the power- and the homebutton simultaneously until the apple logo will appear ( 10 sec.). That´s it.

  • Can I import photos to iPhoto if my touchscreen is not working?

    I was just on vacation in Costa Rica and my phone broke there. The touchscreen does not work at all. When it stopped working my phone was in airplane mode and not connected to WiFi... I tried to restart it and nothing works. I am really hoping I can upload my photos to my iPhoto so I don't lose everything from my trip...     Possibly if you both of your devices support iCloud, you have an iCloud account and you have Photo Stream set up on both devices.  Set up correctly all photos taken by the iPhone will go into its Photo Stream and be imported into your iPhoto Library automatically.     My touchscreen stopped working after the Windows updates on my laptop froze. I have went through all the settings of the pen and touch and others to resolve this problem and unfortunately it is still not working. I have also rebooted the laptop to factory settings as well as updating all the things which needed to updated and updated softwares from the HP website recommended and I have updated the BIOS but still the touchscreen is not functioning.

    According to the message you have recently posted I would like to confirm that this could be a hardware issue and I strongly recommend you to immediately Contact HP Technical Support over the Phone for further assistance without any delay to get your Notebook diagnosed and serviced by an authorized HP Certified Engineer

    The touchscreen of my iPhone GS is not working so my phone is frozen.  I can't open it or shut it down because the slider will not  move.  Any solutions?  Thanks!

    I can then only suggest a restore, this will wipe all of your data so be sure to back up first. To do this plug your phone into iTunes and first back up. Then on the device screen select the restore button, this will then restore it to factory settings. When the phone loads up and irked recognises it, it will ask you if you want to set it up as a new phone or from a back up, select from the back up. This will then re sync your contacts, photos and some other files but not your music as this is on your computer.

    HDD crashed, and was replaced with new, re-installed system from factory recovery CDs, now touch screen does not work. I have re-installed the drivers to no avail. system Properties says under Pen and Touch:  No Pen or Touch Input is available for this Display. It used to work before the hard drive crashed. Is there a setting in the BIOS? or something else I may have missed?

    I have read your post on how the Touchscreen of your desktop computer is not working after replacing the Hard Drive, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
    To re-enable the touchscreen features on your computer, I recommend re-installing the original software and hardware drivers that first came with your computer. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7). To update the newly installed software, please follow this resource on Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 7).

    Did the reset process work? Have you seen the Apple Logotype after pressing the Home/Sleep button?
    If that does not work, I'd suggest to restore iPhone. If even it does not work, your iPhone may need service.

    I purchased an All In One a couple of days ago and everything seemed to be working fine but just last night the touchscreen feature isnt working. I've searched around for solutions to this issue but i havent had any luck. I'm assuming that somehow I disabled this feature and there should be a way to restore it.

    I just noticed that in the control panel under 'system' it says that there is no pen or touch input available for this display. Is it possible that i somehow deleted this input option or could it just be faulty?

    A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
    No content is affected by this procedure.
