My touchscreen on my iPhone stuffs up

My iPhone now (all of a sudden) will have the
Screen temporarily not working, it will work and then for a short period of time I can't type
Sometimes putting it on sleep And back again helps but it just stops working everything
Is this something that can be fixed through restarting an
iPhone or has it got to do with the iPhone itself and that I may need it fixed it replaced?

Try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you most likely have a hardware issue.

  • The touchscreen of my iphone is not working, and I want to backup my most recent photos onto my mac, but I have a passcode that I have changed since my most recent backup around a month ago. What could I do to get my photos back?

    As the title says,
My iphone touchscreen stopped working around two days ago, so I cannot input my passcode. I am trying to backup my most recent photos as I have been on a trip abroad to phuket the past week, and got back home but did not have time to move my photos from that trip onto my mac before the touchscreen stopped working. I have a problem because I backed up my iphone last around a month ago, but have changed my passcode since so my iphone is not allowing me to back up onto my mac through itunes. I wish I at least hadn't changed the passcode, or had my photos on icloud, but I have so many photos that the icloud storage would cost so much for me to keep them updated.. I am so frustrated right now as it's not that I have forgot my passcode, or that I don't know it at all, but I know it. I wish there was a software that I could use on my mac to enter the passcode or something. Is there a way I could do something about it?!

So you are not using Photo Stream? If you are, then you can turn on Photo Stream on iCloud on your Mac, and then go to iPhoto or Aperture and the Photo Stream will show under "Web" in the sidebar.
You can also set up your iPhoto or Aperture preferences to automatically import your Photo Stream, so any photos you take with your iPhone camera will upload and import automatically and will show under events, broken into monthly groupings.
Photo Stream does not use any of your iCloud storage.
Here are the Preference Screens I'm referring to:
    iPhoto:
    Aperture:
One other thing concerning your Touch Screen. Have you tried resetting your device (nothing will be lost) to see if that will get your Touch Screen working again: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays see if your Touch Screen is working.
    Best of luck,

  • Problems with Touchscreen on my iPhone 5s

I have been having a problem for some time now with the touch screen on my iPhone 5s..
It never used to often play up but have noticed it has started doing it more regularly.
now and again when navigating through my phone.. random things will open as I am for example trying to scroll down a page, it will randomly click different things as if there are 5 fingers clicking different things on a page at once, when in reality all I am trying to do is scroll down..
it seems I have a problem with the touch screen and that now and again it just goes into a freak out.. and its kind of frustrating.. as for a good period of time I actually cant use my phone and I have to put it down and wait for it to stop playing up because I physically cant use it.
has anyone else had this problem? and if so, is there anything I can do to fix it? my phone isn't damaged or anything from dropping it as I never drop it.. theres no chance it could be down to water problems and its never come to contact with water..
if I cant fix it, is there a way I can get my iPhone 5s replaced? thanks.

    Hey G.Russo,
Thanks for the question and detailed information. I understand that you are experiencing issues with the multi-touch display on your iPhone 5s. The following resource outlines troubleshooting steps for this symptom:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Troubleshooting touchscreen response
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1827
    Restart your device
Hold the On/Off button until "slider to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.
If you can't restart your device, reset it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
Avoid using the device while wearing gloves, with wet hands, or immediately after applying hand lotion.
If you have a protective case, or if you are using a plastic sheet or film on the display, try removing them and testing the device without it.
If the steps above don't resolve your issue, please schedule a service appointment with an Apple Retail Store for evaluation. If an Apple Retail store is not an option, contact Apple to find out your best service option or see the Service FAQ for your product.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • I'm looking to buy a new laptop, but all my iPhone stuff is on iTunes on my current laptop. Is there anyway of just pluging into a new laptop and getti g all my iPhone stuff on to  it

I currently have iTunes on my laptop for my iPhone, but I'm getting a new laptop so is there anyway of just plugging my phone in and getting all my iTunes stuff back

You need to... Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
Backup iTunes to an External Drive
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
An Added Bonus is that you will then have a Backup of iTunes...

  • IPhone stuff gone and iPod on there now.

A friend of mine has both an ipod and iphone.  She plugged her iphone into the computer and now lost all of her photos, apps, etc... and her phone now had the ipod things on it.
If there any way to get the stuff back, if a Backup wasn't done on the iPhone?
    Thanks

If she previously backed up the phone, she needs to restore it from that backup.
She evidently did not pay attentions to the prompts she got when she plugged it into a computer she had never synced it with before and proceeded to restore it using a backup on the iPad. Anything that was on the phone that wasn't backed up is gone.

  • I have lost all my iphone stuff, i backed up my iphone then went to restore it but when i set it up as new phone it backed it up again as the empty iphone! ive lost everything, is there a way to retrieve my older back up? i can only see the later backup

how can i find an older backup file? i backed up my phone before resetting my iphone to factory but then when i went to set it up as a new phone it backed it up again! so now ive lost everything i had before cos the only backup file i have now is the one after the reset. is there a way to get my older one

Did you back it up to the cloud?

  • What happens to my iphone stuff stored in my icloud account when my iphone is reset or restored to factory settings?

I've been researching how unwanted spyware can impact personal iphone usage. I understand - First iphone must've had a JailBreak happen then a spyware app downloaded, installed and activated for iphone to be compromised but no one has described how to determine IF your iphone HAS suffered an unwanted JailBreak attack or worse. (1) How can you determine if an unwanted JailBreak has actually happened to your iphone? Also, icons for the spyware can be hidden and the best advice I obtained to remove unwanted hidden apps completely was by doing a thorough cleaning using the reset to "Factory Settings" option. No doubts would exist after that cleansing. So going back to factory settings made sense to me until now. Formerly, I had no iCloud account with my previous iphone and now I do. My new upgraded iPhone, MacBook Pro and now my new Mini iPad are now linked together in my new iCloud account. If I were to do a reset to factory settings option then my best "guess" is that the unwanted hidden apps would be removed from my iCloud account too... WHEN... I did a clean backup with my reset cleaned device(s). (2) Is that reset cleaned device(s) backup scenario true? (3) What happens to my iCloud account when the "factory settings option" is activated and how are the linked devices unitedly impacted?

iCloud does not store your apps in any case. The App Store simply recognizes that you have purchased the app in the past and allows you to re-download it onto any device which is signed into the same iTunes account. If you've managed to get an app on your iPhone by some other means then it is only on that one device. A Jailbreak can only happen if you initiated it yourself (unless the phone was second-hand, of course).

  • I just bought a i pod touch.  How do I load all my iphone stuff to it?

I have a itunes account and it works great with my i phone.  Now I have bought a i pod touch and want to load all of my musci, pictures and apps on it the same as my i phone?  How do I do this without lossing what I already have put on my i pod touch with my wifes computor?

    You don't/
The ipod touch, like the iphone will sync with one and only one computer at a time.  If you sync to another, then it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
Put everything that you want on one computer and sync to that one.

  • Updated to my iphone now I'm getting another family member's contacts, reminders, and such. How do I set it up to not get their stuff on my phone?

I just updated my iphone and I'm now getting all my daughter's iphone stuff. She uses the icloud and I tried to use the icloud and its mixing everything all up. I asked if she wanted to start a new account but she will lose everything and will not have access to things we have paid for already as a family household. I don't want to pay for stuff twice! There has to be a way to seperate it all by phones. My other daughter is planning on getting a iphone too! I don't want to know all their little friends numbers, calendars, and all their reminders. I don't want it on my phone! i realize that I can choose on my device what accout appears on my screen, but its annoying that its even on my phone to begin with taking up memory. Can anyone help on this?
If there isn't a solution, this is extremely annoying to me that apple does not have a method of separating out phone info! This makes people have to get seperate accounts for each phone and pay more where they should be able to share their apps with their whole household...without having to blend all the phones data together!

Okay so I figured out the solution by reading other discussions. Basically you need to delete on your phone the icloud account and start up a new icloud account with a new email address. This is nice because you can still share apps without getting everyone elses things. The only thing that didn't get worked out was the notes...
On your phone go to settings and then icloud, scroll down and delete the account. Then just make a new icloud under a new email.

  • IPhone 2G touchscreen dead

I woke up this morning to turn off my iPhone alarm, only to find a dead touchscreen. My iphone 2g is having the same issue as:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1827?viewlocale=en_US
I followed all the troubleshooting steps and even restored to my last back up a few days ago. I don't expect much help since it's OOW, but the following post indicated a similar issue and was able to receive help.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2076249&tstart=0
Has anyone else experienced the same issue lately? I've also read from other sources that apple may be able to provide service for OOW iPhones purchased around a certain date within a range of serial numbers. Is this valid?
I even missed the rebate given by apple for those who bought the iPhone at increased prices, ;(

    I had same issue,
I didn't received no help from aple.
I called to 3 stores in lithuania, they replayed that they do not fix iphones, went to one shop they replayed that they do not fix 2g iphones anymore.
I am a student in denmark now. So I though diferent replays will be in differnet country, but even worse. I went to apple store and they said that it will cost 500$ to replace my screen.
At the same day I came back home I threw my 2g deadstriped iphone through the window into garbage container house. At least that was fun.

  • Backing up and restoring iPhone if computers change

My employer provides me with an MacBook OSX laptop and I was thinking of syncing all my iPhone stuff to that machine.
But since this is my employer's machine, I would have to give it up if I ever quit, or if they want me to change to a different machine for some reason.
So if I sync everything to the MacBook, is there an easy way to backup or transfer the contacts to another machine? If I connect up the iPhone to another computer/itunes can I send my contacts to it too?

I too need to find out how to backup my SMS/MMS data in way that allows me to restore it to the phone. The problem is that I have corrupted software on my phone. I need to wipe the phone and sync with iTunes as a new phone, without restoring from a previous backup. If I restored the phone from a previous backup, the phone would inherit the corrupted software of the previous backup as well. I have to do a fresh install and sync. MobileMe will take care of restoring my contacts, notes, bookmarks, calendars and mail. MobileMe does not back up SMS/MMS data. What I am looking for is a way to back up the current SMS/MMS data to the computer and then sync it to my freshly wiped iPhone that is synced with iTunes as a new phone. Third party software is fine, as are lengthy, intricate, complicated processes. The goal is simply to get the SMS/MMS data off of my phone and then back onto my phone after it is wiped.
