I would try this:
iPod nano: Error message saying that iPod 'could not be identified ...
Go through ALL the steps. Most of the time one of them fixes it.

I've run diagnostics. Can't find device. I've tried resetting. The toggle has been turned on and off.

Cable works fine on my other iPod. Reset by pressing menu and center button together for 6-10 seconds. Left it to charge for many hours. Started acting up while running. Suddenly the music stopped playing but my Nike + was still working for the rest of my run. Took it straight it home and plugged it in to the wall to recharge since the battery was fairly low. Looked like it recharged ok but then screen went blank and now does it not show up on iTunes, does not seem to recharge by the wall charger (apple wall charger plugged into a surge protector in India). I have turned the hold switch off and on many times.
Sounds like a repair issue, which is not easy to do in India :(

I wanted to update my itunes and it didn't update and now it wont open so i had to uninstall it and it wont install now at all can you please help?

I turned on my laptop this evening to import a new cd but it asked me if i wanted to download the new version of itunes so i went ahead to update it but it failed to update then it failed to open at all, and and runtime error keeps popping up but when i uninstalled it to reinstall it it wont install now and i cant use my ipod or ipad with my laptop without itunes and i never had this problem at all. can you please help?

The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. I was going to say either that or to remove the email from your email account settings(on ipad) and put it back on. Happens everytime im forced to change my work email password. I need to delete the account and add it again for it to accept the new password.

There should be an option (on the left hand side of your iTunes) for your iPod. Then when you click on it you will just need to setup and there will be an option to sync at the bottom right hand corner

Replced hard drive, now just get a black screen on startup? help please!

Hi all
So today I upgraded my hard drive in my 17" white iMac, i was pretty careful and ive double checked that all wires/connections were reattached but when i start it up i hear the start up tone but the screen just stays blank, tried the PRAM reset and even hooked up an external display and getting nothing at all. I put my installation disk in and can hear the disk being read etc but just getting a blank screen.
Any advice much appreciated

Sounds like you didn't reconnect the backlight inverter cable when you reassembled:

If you shine a bright light/sunlight on the screen, can you see faint activity? If not, then it would be the data cable you didn't connect:

Try booting the Recovery Partition. Power off, boot and then hold down the Command and R keys. Is the screen still black? If so it is not a software problem so take it in for diagnosis and repairs. If you are running Mavericks try upgrading to 10.9.2. It has a fix for black screen problems.
