My track pad is not working right. Help?

. Ive had my computer for 10 months now and the arrow goes all over the screen despite where I try to direct it to go. When it does work, it can take a long time to fix it and keep it on track to click something i want. Literally, the arrow moves all over the screen even if I am not touching the computer- like its possessed or something. Does anyone know how to fix this?

How often does this occur?
Is anything touching the track pad like a computer case?
Wipe the track pad off with a clean dry soft cotton cloth. Moisture can cause strange behavior.
Try starting up the computer in the startup manager and see if the trackpad works ok there: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1310

All recent versions of Mac OS X use bash, so avoiding Mavericks won't help you with that problem (which isn't a problem for most users).

Did you replace your battery with one of as good quality as that you are disposing of. Does the indicaror light show when you start up.

The track pad buttom not working

Hey everyone,
I have a BB curve, and for some reason the track pad just stopped working. I am very gentle with my
BB and I don not really understand what could possibly happened. It is completely frozen on the left up side of the screen on the " search" option ( the hand lenses icon).
I already turned it off-on and I also removed the battery , and it is still in the same position.
I can receive calls, and make calls using the speed dial letter/pad. What can I do/try?

My macbook air was baught in 2010 and the track pad has stopped working. Can it be helped with software ocr is it a hardware issue.

T42 keyboard not working right, HELP PLEASE

My keyboard is not working right. If I push the key it wont work,but if I hold the key for a couple seconds then it works was told to replace the keyboard and I did with a new one. But it is still doing it. Can anyone tell me what the problem is. Model # R4U machine type 2378, OS XP-PRO , COA SP2 , S/N L3xxxxx.

It's the Quick Selection Tool in Photoshop Elements 9 and I'm trying to get the background and make it another layer so I can even out the color of the background then bring down the transparency. Not sure if that makes sense. I'm new to this.... Sometimes the area it will grab can go ...not fast.. but not slow. Sometimes it's like it's just messed up and literally takes 30 seconds to process each move. I rebooted my computer and re opened it and it helped a little. It's not clear what causes it when it messes up and when it doesn't. Just frustrating. It's probably user error because I'm so new at Photoshop. Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it.

Did you download and install the Windows Support software? If you did, did you use the Boot Camp Control icon to set up the trackpad how you want it?

I have been experiencing the same issue. My MacBook Pro is a little more n 3 years old.
AFter the updates, my computer seemed to run very erratic when running a few programs at once and the trackpad suddenly went on the fritz. For a week now, it jumps around erratically and selects things on its own.
I reset the PRAM, tried it in safe mode, reconfigured the mouse settings and nothing seems to work.

Can someone help me with my iMac track pad? My computer has been off for 10 days and when I turned it on the curser will not move. The green light on the track pad would come on then off so i replaced the batteries in the track pad but it still does not work. Not sure if the grandchildren were on it over the holidays could something be locked on the keyboard?

1. Make sure that battery is in normal condition.
2. Shut down the computer.
    Clean the trackpad with moist not wet microfiber cloth.
    System Preferences > Point & Click
    Try turning off three finger dragging and then turning it on after testing.
3. Is there any Bluetooth device nearby with failing batteries? If so, replace the batteries.

6. Close all windows and quit all applications.

My computer's key board and trac pad is not working! help!!

I just bought the new iphone 5. Inorder to activate it, i needed to download the newest version of itunes. In order to do so, i had to download snow leopard first before lion because aparently i hadn't updated in a while. So I downloaded snowloepard offline (I don't have a disk). Now my computer's track pad and the keyboard doesn't work!! I bought a keyboard and mouse to see if that would work, it doesn't!! I have taken the battery out and reset PRAM. any other suggestions?? My computer is a 2008 MacBook, please help! All of my info is unreachable

How did you download Snow Leopard? It is not available from Apple online. If you got it from another source, it is suspect.
You can get SL by calling Apple. 1-800-MY-APPLE in the USA.

Mouse pad (track pad) does not work,

Started Macbook w/o mouse. Track pad can move cursor, but "enter function" does not work.

Did the MBP come with the trackpad, or do you have a mouse as well? To turn off the trackpad, there is a botton on the right side, see picture. Hold, you will see a light, wait until it goes off. To turn on, hold until you see the light.

I upgraded to Lion and can't watch videos and track pad is not working what can i do?

I recently adquired my Iphone and wanted to sync all my information with my Ipad, Iphone & Mack Book Pro, but I had an older vertion in my Mack Book Pro wich I adquired on 2011, in order to sync with I clowd I needed to upgrade to Lion, I did that and now I cant use my track pad and I can not watch videos in any page like Youtube etc.

Backup your user files off the machine
Use a wired mouse and hold commnad r keys and reboot, reinstall Lion again
Once you got your trackpad back, then install Flash here

That is so vague it is essentially useless in trying to help you with your problem.
Please be MUCH more specific about what it does and does not do. What are you asking it to do in what ways, and how does it fall short of your expectations.
Many trackpad problems can not be solved by minor software tweaks. A FREE appointment at your local genius Bar for an evaluation is often very productive for this sort of physical problem. Those guys put their hands on these computers all day, every day, and have developed a remarkable body of expertise about hands-on problems like this.
