My Trackpad went away

After a couple of sessions of Display Calibration with a Hardware Calibrator & a couple of calibration apps, at least one of which was running in Rosetta, my Mac Book Pro no longer sees its trackpad. The trackpad is not accepting input, and it is no longer showing up as a tab in the Mouse & Keyboard preference pane. It is just gone. This is a new machine. Restarting did not help.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

If the update did not preserve all your Applications you may simply have to download iTunes again and instrall it on Windows 8.
There's nothing strange about an update not preserving installed Applications.

I use mymsn page and when upgrading to Firefox 4 the changes went away and I can not make changes to the stocks area or see my emails. How do I fix that?

Mymsn has areas that allow you to list your stocks and also an area that allows you to see what emails you have waiting to be read. Both of these areas went away when I upgraded to Firefox 4 last week. When clicking on the menu area to make changes, nothing happens. How do I get back the information that was in these areas? Also the customize button does not work.

Do you have Adblock Plus installed? If you do, disable on the page where you normally see your stock info. I've uploaded an image of what happens on another site where ABP is enabled. The Global News image disappears with ABP enabled even though it's not an ad.
If that doesn't work, try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it works correctly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

It's on your iPad somewhere. It cannot be deleted.
Swipe from screen to screen to look for it.
You can also reset the home screen layout and the icon will reappear - but the home screen will return to the way that it looked when you first activated your iPad.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

Use the menu Preference/General.
You have a button to press on the bottom of the screen : 'reset all warning dialogs'.
Then start the full view (F11); you'll get the popup menu to set the preferences for the full view; check to show captions.

When I graded my iPad the YouTube app went away

Lots of posts on this. The YouTube app is no longer a default app. There is a YouTube app in the App Store but it is optimized for the iPhone. An iPad version may be released eventually. There are also other third party apps. I use Jasmine but there are others. Give the App Store a search.

3.1 and iTunes 9 all apps went away

All the apps I've dl from the AppStore went away with the exception on Facebook and Skype. Now when I open iTunes it shows them on my screen, but they aren't actually on the phone. And when I deleted all of the apps from my Mobile Apps folder and tried to dl them one at a time over again, they show up on my screen while they are "downloading" and then it just goes away... and there is no icon there.
What is going on?!?1

Is your machine properly authorized?
When you say mobile apps folder...you mean in iTunes right?? Try deleting one in iTunes and re-DL it...even if it's a paid app you wont be charged twice

The edges of my spot healing brush went away

I was using my spot healing brush and all of a sudden the circle went away. I can't tell where the edges are or what size my circle is.

That must have been it. I gave up and exited the software, did some other work and went back to it. When I did, the edges were back. I must have accidentally hit the CAPS LOCK key. I didn't realize it though, so I wouldn't have figured it out. Thank you so much for your response. Michele

Possibly something you consented to install with some free program. Or a virus.
Google doesn't pick the name up, are you sure you didn't make a typo? If you're really interested, you could try to find the add-on's files in your profile (see [[Profiles]], then "extensions" folder, then the folder with install.rdf file inside containing the name you see in the add-ons window) and check its source or post it somewhere and try to get someone to look at it.

I thought the same thing, until I saw there is a podcast update as well in the app store, that fixes this.

Iphone 5 screen had spike which flucuated for 3 sec and went away

I just recieved my iphone 5 today in mail. It came all the way from china seems that way on ups tracking. It was working fine till evening and then i try to download all new apps from app store. I am not using old iphone 4 backup i am setting up as new phone. So during one of application update which is gas calculator app when keyboard poped up to ask for app store password. I saw a spike which flactuated for 3 sec and went away at bottom of keyboard. Is that normal has anyone experience yet? I hope its not serious defect.
Please advice or help. I cant goto apple store i am unable to get out of house due to medical reason. any suggestions?

This happens to me as well. I'm going to the Apple Store on Friday to show them. Ill update this post with the results.

Firefox 19.02 freezes. Tried downgrading Flash to 10.3 but problem appears to be unrelated to Flash. Reinstalled Forefox 14.01 problem went away.

Latest version of Firefox freezes solid on load. 14.01 fixes the problem. Reinstalled 19.02 and problem reappeared. Disabling Norton Firewall temporarily did not fix the problem. Reinstalled 14.01 a second time and problem went away again. Running Win 8 on a Toshiba Satellite laptop.

Update: It WAS Flash related. I reinstalled Firefox 19.0.2. Both Flash 10.3 and 11.6 froze. I then uninstalled Flash. No problem. Reinstalled Flash 10.3, froze again. Downgraded Firefox to 14.01 again. Flash 10.3 runs with no problem. On my PC 14.01/Flash 10.3 is the workable solution, for now. Fix please.
