My trackpad worked fine before mavericks update.

My trackpad worked fine before mavericks update. Now two finger scrolling doesnt work. I have read numerous things related to this and there has not been a single fix, besides returning it to the apple store. If it worked fine prior to the update, logic dictates the update has messed up drivers. Logic dictates this when it works perfectly under mac 10.7 and not 10.9. Logic dictates it is Mavericks when everyone is complaining about it being Mavericks. Whenever I am in a app that is separate from the finder/desktop it doesn't work (Chrome, Safari, itunes, appstore, etc). To scroll all I can do is use the arrow keys or three finger dragging to highlight down the page. I have read a number of fixes, but none are fixes. A fix entails an update that fixes the driver related issue. Not to remove the battery from the mobo (I have tried this, it doesn't work). Certainly not to go to the Apple store, when it isn't a problem with hardware, but with software. btw, I bought this at Microcenter, not the apple store. This is a Late 2011 15in macbook with 4gb of ram and a 5400rpm 500gb hdd, which is pretty ****** for $2300 (2000 plus 300 extended warranty), I didn't buy this, it was a gift for graduation. Anyways people have told me it was the standard of the time, it was the standard back in 2008/2009. I had a 15in MSI with 4gb of ram and a 1tb 7200rpm drive, and was about $1200. I wish I had not sold it, as it wasn't defective. It had vista though, which was truly apalling, more so than Mavericks. Please fix this apple via software update, if I have to exchange this I am going to be forced to pay about 400 in difference for todays comparable laptop. Not acceptable, when I just bought a tv for someone on Christmas, as I don't have the means. Please get back to me and the rest of your customers asap. btw, this is my first support request ever of you guys. This was an issue with 10.9.1, not 10.9....

This is a bug and it's caused when you swipe between pages with two fingers.
How to fix:
Quit Chrome.
Open System Prefences.
Choose View > Trackpad, or click Trackpad.
Click the More Gestures tab.
Disable "Swipe between pages".
Restart Chrome.
Additional Information
If you own an Apple Magic Mouse, I would also disable the same gesture within the Mouse preferences pane.
