My trash in iPhoto has no thumbnails in it, however, it says I have over 31K photos in it. I have already "put back" over 35K photos to Events. How can I delete from iPhoto photos that are not in a thumbnail? Also, I have been deleting these for over a year assuming that they were being deleted when I put them in the trash. I didn't realize that there was an iPhoto trash along with my computer trash. I can't put the other Events into the trash until I erase what's in there. Thank you for any help you can give me.

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

iPhoto works best when the source (Pictures folder) is on a different disk drive than the iPhoto Library is on.
And you need to have enough free disk space to work with, the faster the better.
Also, do not keep your media folders and those in your home folder on the same drive as the system, also another bottleneck.
Until or unless you have everything on 1400MB/sec SSD PCIe controller, you want
System boot drive
Media and data folders and such
scratch
backup
etc
I put iPhoto on an SSD off an SSD PCIe Sonnet Tempo card
If you stop- it, you will need to trash the Library it was creating.
Reading and writing to/from the same hard drive will be slow.
You don't mention which Mac, or how large you are trying to import etc

Take a look in Activity Monitor. See what the % being used for iPhoto, how many pageouts, how much free space on the various disk drives, and how much RAM do you have installed?

You have likely dragged the size of the filmstrip thumbnails to a small size that prevents Lightroom from displaying the badges. Using your mouse, mouse over the top line of the filmstrip and then drag it supports to increase the size.

Iphoto has stopped uploading photos and frozen. I have paid online for the book - what to do?

Hi there.. iphoto has stopped uploading photos and the programme has frozen on me. It assembled the book (step 1.), then did not complete the upload (step 2). Prior to these steps I provided my C/C detals and paid for the book. i had to Force Quit the iPhoto app, and now wondering what to do!? If I try to buy the book again, then it asks for my C/C details...

Did you get a confirmation email from Apple? Click on the Store button at the top of this page and use the Account ➙ Track a Purchase link. That will tell you if they received your book. Apple doesn't charge the card until it is shipped. You can also check with your credit card company to see if there's been a charge from Apple.
Try previewing the book by Control-clicking in the background of the view all pages in iPhoto and select Preview Book or Save Book as PDF:
If that process fails then there's a work around for it. Boot into Safe Mode and preview the book again to make sure you can get a PDF of the book. If you can then order the book while still in Safe Mode. Save the PDF file to compare with the printed book. If the PDF file is satisfactory the printed book should match it.
What size book are you ordering? Xtra large?

In iTunes select the movie and hit Delete. Follow the prompts and then empty the trash.

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

Keynote is programmed to execute all of the effects in a build sequence before it will move to the next slide.
If you want tobe able to move to the next slide at any time in a sequence of builds, you will need to set all of the builds on that slide to: "on click". You will then need to execute each build by pressing the space bar or click the left mouse button for each object.

How are you trying to transfer it and what are your setting on iTunes. I'm not on a computer that has iTunes at the moment so I'm going from memory and similar issue. If iTunes is set to sync music then I don't think you can select and drag, if set to manual manage music then you can. Also make sure you are dragging to music on the iPhone.

I'm afraid that unless you are able to contact the previous owner and have him wipe the device, or provide you with his Apple ID password so you can delete the iCloud account, you are out of luck.
With iOS 7, an Activiation Lock was added to deter thieves. This lock prevents anyone but the owner of the device from deleting the iCloud account and restoring the device:

Unless you are able to reach the original owner and get the device wiped or the iCloud account deleted, you are stuck with a brick.

iDevices can only sync to one library at a time.
