My trial version lasted
only about 1 hour. When I try to edit a
photo I get a message "Your Trial has expired" and it asks for my license key. How do I get 30 days of trial?

I changed some dates on some photos.
I think that is when my Trial expired. I deleted Photoshop Elements 8 and reloaded it. My trial was still expired. I have since purchased the product. Thanks for your help.

Iphoto shows only white when I try to edit a photo

iphoto shows all pictures, but when I double-click them, only a white screen appears. I also cannot load the pictures to order a photobook and I cannot synch them to my apple tv. Funny enough, this happens only with half of my photos, the other ones are fine.

I've seen reports of permissions issues on the Modified folders, so try Download BatchMod from
http://macchampion.com/arbysoft/
And apply it to the iPhoto Library Folder using the settings found here:

Make sure to apply to enclosed files and folders and to unlock files.
If that fails then you may have a corrupted database:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums back.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

I think it means "the sliders are all 0 so painting adjustments with this brush won't change anything." In other words, move one of the sliders to a non-zero position, for example Exposure from 0 to 1.0, and then see what happens. You can edit the brush and change it to do something other than Exposure +1.

In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:

To everyone that is having this problem:
I just ended a 2 hour session with Apple Tech Support. We had to take it to a level 2 support person, but finally got it running. Here's what she had me do. Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Uninstall ALL Apple products on the Computer. This inccluded Apple Mobile Device Itunes, Bonjour and Quicktime. I doubt if we would have had to but she had me download a fresh copy of iTunessetup.exe and run it. iTunes came up and ran on version 11.1.4. Then I reinstalled Quicktime.
It is my personal opinion that there is a flaw in version 11.1.4. You shouldn't have to go through all of these hoops just to update a single application that was working fine proir to the update attempt.
That's what worked for me. Hope this helps you. Any questions, get back to me.

First make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

When this happened the first time, I seriously thought it wouldn't come back on. I was trying to crop something out of the of a photo and it shut off like it was dying (it was fully charged) and then froze, turned white, then an apple logo appeared. That is a known bug in iOS 5.1.1. The iPod "crashes" when editing photos. Just do not edit photos and wait for the next update. Most users have said it crashes when editing screen shots.

I edit a photo and when I click Save As, I get error message "Could not complete your request because of a program error." I exit Elements, try again, same error.
In past I had this problem but it resolved when rebooted PC. This time, PC reboot does not help.

I recently installed PSE 13 to my Mac book pro with Yosemite and the update installed and when I'm in iPhoto when I try to edit the photos in PSE 13 they will not open in PDSE 13

When I try get my photos to open in PSE 13 to be edited they do nothing ! In the past I had them set to open in PSE 11 which is what I was using --- I've changed that to open in PSE 13 but it still doesn't work? Can you help me please?

I hope you have set the correct .app file in iPhoto's preferences. Please see Use with iPhoto | Mac OS for details on set up. Just replace 11 with 13.

I have an expired Lightroom Mobile trial and I have installed a trial version of CC. When I try to use LR Mobile I cannot get beyond the trial expired message. Can anuone help?

As it says I cannot use LR Mobile and I have no confidence that if I subscribe to Creative Cloud that the restriction will go awaY!

I noticed that I had at least 3 copies of each photo for some reason and when I deleted the two copies I now can't seem to view the one remaining photo. Please advise.

If this is not the case, then post back.
*It is strongly advised that you do not move, change or in anyway alter things in the iPhoto Library Folder as this can cause the application to fail and even lead to data loss*
There is never a need for you to enter the iPhoto Library via the Finder. There are no user-serviceable parts there. Every time you do enter the iPhoto Library via the Finder (or any other app) you risk damaging the Library.
Especially when you go and throw away your own photos.
1. They're not copies, they are versions. When you import a pic to iPhoto it's copied into the Originals Folder and a thumbnail version is created (for faster display) in the Data Folder. So, when you look in the iPhoto Window it's the thumbnail that you see. When you double click to edit/view it's the actual file that comes up. If you edit the pic iPhoto creates an edited version. That's in your Modified folder.
2. The "some reason" iPhoto does this is because a: you want it to work fast, b: it preserves your Original file at all costs.
Please advise.
So, what versions did you trash? If you can see the pic in thumbnail form in the iPhoto Window then I have a bad feeling...
