In My Trips and Expenses under Recommended Actions column, links comes dynamically as Change Travel request,Change Approved Travel Request , Create Expenses.
If you want call customized Travel request screen then where I need to change.

Hi,
The Standard Travel application My Trips and Expenses
when any trip selected there are 4 buttons display,change,copy,delete.
We need to control the visibility and access of the buttons depending on the status of the request and the level its pending with.
Please guide as how and from where can this be handled.

Travel and Expenses is coded mostly in ABAP. So you have to do Web Dynpro Application / Component Personalization.
This could help you carry out visibility of certain buttons / fields.
But certain customization would involve changes at the coding level.

Customize My trips and Expenses

In the page my trips and expenses , there are four tabs of which i would like to use only my expense reports/otherwise i want it displayed as a differnt iview. Pls help me in this regard.

Anil You can hide other 3 tabs in SPRO>Personnel Management>ESS>Service Specific Settings>Travel Management >Interface Configuration of Webdynpro....>Activate Request/Plan/Expense.

ESS - My Trips and expenses (Processing Status)

Hello,
In the ESS portal for Travel Management, the iView 'My Trips and Expenses' has a column called 'Processing Status'. The description of the trip status in the portal is not the same as in the backend (ECC).
For example:
Backend: Trip status shows: 'Trip Completed / To Te Settled'
ESS: Trip status shows: 'Trip Completed / Released for approval'
Does anyone know where the portal is extract this text 'Released for approval'?

Hi Jack
The texts themselves come from the program SAPLPTRA_UTIL_TRIPS in the text elements but for the actual status, you can look to the AEND part of the cluster transaction PRTE and if you "F4" on the status in the respective column, then you will see the actual status reason.

Javascript:void(0) error after clicking buttons in my trips and expenses

Hi All,
I have implemented EHP2 and activated FIN_TRAVEL_1, now I am getting all the ABAP webdynpro iviews.
BUT when i go to "my trips and expenses" and try to click any button there like; create travel request, plan, exit, etc...
than I get the message at the bottom left of page "javascript:void(0)"
but when i actually go tarvel and expenses-->create new - Create Travel Request than i can create a new request and same is the case with create new plan and create expense report.
Now in none of the screen Display form does not work, even exit, cancel button do work.
I searched for this in form and found that this might be probably due to missing roles so I gave the following roles but still the same error:

Sorry for the late response....was actually really busy with my ess implementation...so i thought that i would update my forum once everything is working fine...
coming back to error:
the issue was probably with the host name...
explanation:
i was accessing my portal with [http://hostname:50000/irj/portal] which usually we do in normal scenario,
but what i found was that when i was using EHP2 for travel module the screen were designed in abap webdynpro and on clicking any of the links i use to get javascript:void(0)....
so after doing some RnD what i found is that if i access my portal with FQDN i.e: [http://hostname.domainname.com:50000/irj/portal] that the system understands the proper script to launch...
plz update me if my understanding is wrong....

My Trips and Expenses - Webdynpro ABAP - Change Copy Delete button links

Hello All,
We are using ESS and MSS applications in our scenario. We are using EHP4 version of ECC6.0.
I have configured my homepage framework with custom entries in SAP (resources, services, ... ) and custom Portal content (iviews, pages, ... copied from SAP delivered stuff ). I have a very good understanding of this and I have no issues with the portal navigation and tying my custom homepage framework entries to the custom PCD locations.
The only problem I have is with the Webdynpro ABAP application for "My Trips and Expenses". I can get to this application without any problem.
Within the My Tirps and Expenses application, there are buttons for Displaying, Changing, Copying and Deleting existing Travel Trip Requests and Expense Reports. When I click on any of these buttons, the corresponding page/iview from the standard SAP ESS role is being launched. I would like to point these buttons to my custom page/iview from my custom role.
I did not find any place where I can make this setting. I am not sure how the Service IDs for the standard SAP services are being linked to the application.
I hope some one might have looked into this and any input would be really appreciated.

I figured this out.
This application makes use of Object Based Navigation and if you adjust the roles assigned to the user accordingly, this will automatically pick up the custom pages form the custom role.

Problem hiding Tabs in Tabstrip of My Trips and Expenses WD ABAP iView

Hi,
My requirement is to hide the thet tabs ALL MY Trips,All my Travel REquest,All my travel Plans,Pending expense report from the tabstrip ALl my Expense report in Travel and Expense Application.
I have gone through the thread and the sap note mentioned in

My problem is tabs that has to be deleted /hidden does not present in the Development system, but exist in the QA or the prd system.
So how to implement the note when data is not present in the dev system and only exist in the QA/PRD system.
Pleas eprovide me your valuable inputs.

My Trips and Expenses Quicklink

In portal ESS overview page under Travel & expenses section for quicklinks i can see only Create Expense Report and My trips and Expenses
quick link is not displaying . We are using Web Dynpro ABAP application for My trips and expenses which calls FITV_POWL_TRIPS WD component.
In Q nd PROD systems My trips and Expenses is dusplaying under quick links and i compared the config between Q and Dev config both are same. I am
not sure what config is differen od do i need to change any config in backend . If i run the application FITV_POWL_TRIPS from backend the page is getting displayed.

First check whether in the role ESS instance MENU the application is active and if you want the application to be available as quick link then do the setting as shown below,

Copy button disabled on My trips and expenses

Hi,
We are implementing the travel and expenses functionality under ESS. On the My trips and Expenses screen (screen with list of expenses), if we highlight an expense that has been processed all the way through (posted to FI), the copy button and the change button are disabled. I am ok with the change button being disabled but the copy button should not be disabled. Please let me know how to trouble shoot this situation.

I had already done that. It just gives me option to change the characteristics of the button but does not actually give me the application context based situation like the one I had described in my question. The buttons are all disabled in general but the Display/print button is enabled when a row is selected where as the copy is still disabled when I select an expense that has been posted to FI. It is enabled when I select an expense that is still in the process. I would like to see it enabled all the time.

Migration from WD Java to WD ABAP in ESS Trips and Expenses

Hello Experts,
We are migrated ESS Trips and expenses from WD Java to WD ABAP.
Following steps I have performed
1.     Activated FIN_TRAVEL_1 and FIN_TRAVEL_2 business functions.
2.     checked FITV_TRIP_FORM service in SICF /sap/bc/webdynpro/sap its active .
3.     Currently we are SAP ESS 6.0 EHP 4 , and accordingly we have down loaded
uwl_com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra.14.zip , (for SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 4) [Note 1076144 - ESS trips and   expenses: Migration from WD Java to WD ABAP]
file as suggested in Migration from WD Java to WD ABAP in ESS Trips and Expenses user guide
4.     after uploading uwl_com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra.14.zip file in SAP NetWeaver Portal -> System Administration -> System Configuration -> Universal Worklist->& Workflow -> Universal Worklist Administration.-> Object Types and View Definitions -> com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra.
5.     after uploading file, when manager click up on u201Ccheck trip of ABCu201D workitem in his uwl , he is getting following error.
404   Not Found
SAP J2EE Engine/7.01
The requested resource does not exist.
Details:   Go to main page of this application!
Any idea for fixing this issue.

in the java system , the portal will launch the approval frm the same system , for the abap component , the task type in uwl you might have to define a dynamic property as "System" and give the name of your r/3 system in there.

My Trips and Expenses - refresh all tabs?

In ESS, when i go to Iview- My Trips and Expenses, only the first tab- All my trips is refreshed. There are 3 other tabs which don't refresh and the header in these tabs show incorrect number of receipts. Afetr i click on these individual tabs then they get refreshed.
Is there a way that all these tabs get refreshed together?
Please advice.

Error when display "My trips and Expense "

Hello experts,
I had configurated ESS and ADS .
Our ADS intalled on the Portal server, ERP on the othere server.
I have configurated ADS both with ABAP and JAVA for a basic authentication .
When I click the button "Display/Print"   in "My trips and Expense " page , it occured error bold "Error while initalizing travel form " bold.
I think I had configurated ADS with ABAP successful.
There 4 steps to check the configuration of ADS with ABAP:
1. The first check you need to perform is Checking by Executing Test Report FP_TEST_00
    error: Cannot find PDL type for output device LP01.
2. Check the ABAP Connection . successful
3. Check the User and Password   successful
4. Check the Destination Service . successful
But in "Benefits and Payment", "Total compensation" can display PDF form normally .
But the error not be covered .
Could you please give me any suggestions ?

If you use the ABAP Forms, plz check you customizing with the IMG activity "Travel Expenses Control (Expert View)". Set the indicator Other Settlement 24 for the appropriate trip provision variant to the desired value :

My Trips and Expenses - tab refresh functionality

Hi Experts,
Only one tab from My trips and Expenses screen is getting refreshed after clicking 'My trips and Expense' link. I found SAP note 1542417, which says after implementation of note 1495681 or corresponding support package, the refresh of POWL query in WDA version of Travel application is not done for all tabstrip in the same time for performance reason.
After implementing SAP note 1542417, manual setting is required in IMG to set URL parameter &SAP_FITV_REFRESHA=X, to refresh of POWL query parallel for all tabstrip. I followed the steps given in the note to make the refresh functionality parallel, but still only active tab is getting refreshed. Please let me know if any action is required after maintaining the URL parameter.

Hi Lasse,
I can't directly relate to the problem because I'm on EHP6. But I've taken a look at the note and the coding. You should debug WDYN FITV_POWL_TRIPS Eventhandler "HANDLE_DEFAULT" of Window "TRAVELLER" around. Serach for "*OCA 1542417", set an external breakpoint there.
Maybe the parameter isn't correctly retrieved from the URL. Alternatively maybe the subsequently fired plug and the Init-Hooks handle the parameter incorrectly.
I hope this helps a bit with the analysis.
I wouldn't be surprised if this simply is a standard problem, there have been tons of standard problems with POWL...

My Trips and Expenses - Create new expense report is not coming up..

We are facing a issue in T&E that, when we try to click on "Create new Expense Report" from My Trips and Expenses it is not coming up..
And same when we execute the backend application through SE80 it is coming fine.
Please anyone suggest the root cause..

Yes, I just tested this thing out in 11.1.1.5. Please find more details below.
1. I create a sample 'BIConsumer' user.
2. Logged into the BI Server.
3. Navigated to Catalog and clicked on New
4. I could get only two options 'Report Job' and 'Action Intelligence'.
To provide proper privileges,
1. Logged into BI Server as BIAdministrator.
2. Navigated to Administration -> Manage Privileges -> Catalog/
3. Given explicit permissions to 'BIConsumer' to create folders and 'My folders and Dashboard'.
To verify,
1. Logged back to BI Server as 'BIConsumer' user.
2. Now, in the catalog could see 'New Folder' option under 'My folders'
For further analysis, can you please check which roles this particular user is having? You can click on username at the top right corner -> My Account->Roles and Catalog Groups.
