Since you are running iOS 5 you can always turn on Assistive Touch as well, which adds a Home button to the iPod's actual touch screen.  Head to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Assistive Touch to turn it on.

he menu button of the ipod touch (4th generation) is not working and the service center of ipod is asking us to pay for the fixation of the said item even though it's still on warranty. this is the case number 215866894. And the service center said that they don't cover that center part of the ipod so they're asking us money before they can fix it. We bought the ipod last december 8, 2010 and we brought it to the service center last april, 2011 here in the philippines. And until now they're not fixing it because they're asking us to pay half the price of the item which is 8,040 pesos..

As advised, you need to call Apple about this.

No one here works for Apple (no one who will reply, anyway) so there's nothing anyone here can do to help you with this issue.
    Good luck.

  • Anyone know how to fix a stuck sleep/wake button on the IPOD Touch?

Anyone know how to fix a stuck sleep/wake button on the IPOD Touch?

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

Dropped my iPod this morning. The home button is stuck in. It was bought for me as a Christmas Present. Is it still covered with warranty? Hope it is, if it's not how much roughly? Or is it just a simple DIY 10 min job? Thanks in advance, Freely2

  • The buttons for the ipod touch

    Hi everyone,
I'm having very fun with the ipod touch since two years(that is when I bought it), but there is a problem and I'll explain it.
The problem is that when you are at night on the bed without lights, and you're
listening to music, if you want to change of song you have to turn it on and see it with all the light in front of your eyes. It is very annoying.
But, if you want to turn up the volume you can touch the buttons that the ipod has for it. For this part, this buttons are very useful.
So, my suggestion for the apple company is to put another two buttons to change the song that anyone is listening to the next ipod touch generation (the 5th).
Me and a lot of people (blind people [who cannot use nothing of the ipod touch until now], for example) would really grate this petition.
Thank you very much for your attention,
    Sincerely,
    Ander, from Spain

you can send your suggestions to Apple via _*iPod Touch Feedback*_.

  • My daughter had list her iPod 4. She thinks its in house but not sure, it's turned off! Can the iPods wiped of her details she hasn't seen it for a week

She basically hasn't seen it since last Monday so over a week ago that she can remember. She's pretty sure it's in house but iv downloaded the find my phone app ands it's offline! I just wounderd if atall it's been lost outside the house can it b wiped so the app doesn't work? Or will it always b hers? I brought it new and it's had only her details on

If it is off it can be found via FIndMyiPhone. It can only be wiped if it is connected to the internet and you previously turned on FIndMyiPod
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing

  • Store button on the iPod touch/iPhone

Is anyone else annoyed with the "store" button being in the same spot at the "back" buttons in the "Ipod" app/ "Music" section?
Everytime I back out of the "Now Playing," then "(insert artist name)," then "Artists," I always seem to hit the "Store" button. Then you have to wait a few seconds to back out of that to finally select a new song.
This was new to iOS 5, and I'm wondering if I am the only one having this issue.

Unfortunately enough, this only tells me one of a few things
         a. You change songs/artists relatively slowly
         b. You don't change songs/artists nearly as often as me
         c. You don't use your iPod enough to need to do any of these
         d. some miscellaneous thing I'm not thinking of

  • Computer turns off when I plug Ipod Touch in

    Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice. Each time I plug my Ipod Touch into my computer and open iTunes it resets the whole computer. It will keep on doing this until I take my ipod out of the usb port. I tied plugging it into my other PC and accessing the few songs I have on there and it worked fine.
I'm not sure what's going on, Wether its my Ipod or if its my computer (both pc's by the way).
Any help will be much appreciated.

You can start by turning off the caps lock.
You need to try a few things - reset your iPod and check on what is happening with the Apple Mobile Device Services on your computer.
If you don't know how to reset, click the Support tab at the top of the page and then click on Troubleshooting.
As to the AMDS problem, see this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567
