My two right hot corners stopped working

The two right hand hotcorners of my Macbook Pro stopped working 2 days ago. The left hotcorners work fine, as the right ones did, but suddenly nothing. I already tried the thing with erasing the dock file from the library and restarting the laptop, but it didn't help. I'm a little frustrated,,,is this a bug or what?

Try a SMC reset:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Also go to system preferences>Desktop & Screen Saver>screen saver tab, in the bottom left corner click hot corners and see if they are blank, somehow it was dumped and try resetting them to your preferences.
Try this before the smc reset. Sorry I had to fire up my Lion machine to check this.
All the best

Hi my name is Amit, after upgrading to OS X Maverick I often have problem of my Hot corners stop working after a short period of time. I have to go to mission control and have to reset them for them to start working again. However this is temparory and they stop working again and this is quite annoying. Can someone suggest a cure to this problem please. I will be grateful. Thanks Amit.

    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Log out or restart the computer and test. If there's no change, put the item you moved back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Log out again. Otherwise, delete the item you moved.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Hot Corners Stopped Working

Strange, up until yesterday my hot corners were so sensitive I was constantly activating them accidentally; now they are not activating at all.
System Prefs>Desktop & Screensaver>Hot Corners is not doing it for me! Reboot?

    Hi David!
That sounds really strange. Can you think of anything you might have done/changed on you mac before the hot corners stopped working? Any new applications installed, for example?
Maybe a resart might work, if you haven't done that already. Also, try using Disk Utility (found in HD>Applications>Utilities) to "Verify Disk Permissions" and "Repair Disk Permissions" on your Hard Drive. That might sort out any little bugs which might be stopping your hot corners from working.
I take it, that your 'Hot Corners' Preferences are properly set to what you want? What ahppens if you put them back to "Nothing", restart and then put them onto what ever triggers you want?
    I hope that helps!

I was about to try your suggestion, however the hot corners have started working again. I don't know why... Hopefully, whatever it was has fixed itself.

  • Hot corners stop working with USB Mouse?

    Hi,
pretty simple one this (to explain anyway)
Hot corners don't work with a USB mouse on my 10.10 MBA.
If the USB mouse is plugged in, hot corners do nothing (Whether I use the mouse, or the track pad to move to the corner of the screen)
If i unplug the USB mouse, they work fine again.
I have rebooted and unplugged and replugged the USB mouse to no avail.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Have you tried another USB port?

  • Two sided printing has stopped working

Two sided priting has stopped working. Print dialogue box shows two sided as "ticked" but print comes out one sided on two sheets OR "layout" has started to show "long edge binding" as GRAYED OUT. Any ideas please???

Hey , Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here. I see that you are having options with two-sided printing to your Officejet Pro 8500 A Plus from your Mac 10.10 system. I can help with that. Here's what we'll do to solve this: Go to your Apple Icon, System Preferences, Printers and Scanners.Hold down the Command key and click on the picture of your printer on the left.Click on Reset Printing System.Go to Applications, Utilities, Disk Utility.Click on Macintosh HD on the left.Click on Verify Disk Permissions. This should take about ten minutes.Click on Repair Disk Permissions. This should take about ten minutes.Restart your Mac.Go back to Printers and Scanners.Click on the plus button in the bottom left corner.Select your printer.Next to the line that says Use click on the box and click on the name of your printer in the list.Click on Add.Try printing. This should allow you to print two-sided. If this resolves your issue then please let other forum users know by clicking on Accept as Solution below my post.
I hope this helps and I hope you have a great day!

  • My right speaker suddenly stopped working

My right speaker suddenly stopped working. Does anybody know what could have happened or how I can fix it? Thanks!

Just to make certain that it's not an OS setting, check in your System Preferences>Sound and make sure that your balance is set in the middle:
If it is, and you're still having problems, you could also try resetting the SMC and the PRAM/NVRAM. If that doesn't help, it's likely a hardware problem that will have to be addressed by a trip to your local Apple Store or an AASP.

  • HELP! RIGHT EAR BUD STOPPED WORKING

My new In-Ear headphone's right ear bud stopped working all of the sudden!
Did I broke the tweeter, or the woofer?
If yes, how do I replace it?

Are they the newer earbuds with the remote/mic on the right cord? With mine, the right earbud it also not working and I've figured out that it's a connection issue having to do with the remote. Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix it yet.

  • Getting Hot Corners to work with Captivate 6 Recording

I've been having trouble getting hot corners to work when I'm using Captivate 6 for desktop recordings. I've tried telling the program to record a custom resolution that is slightly smaller than the screen size to see if that would help, but neither that or full screen recording fixes it. When I mouse into the corners during a captivate recording nothing shows up, but if its not recording they work fine. Any thoughts?

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums
Do you have Windows or MAC ?
Did you try a different user account on your computer for recording ?
Which recording option are you choosing ? (Video Demo, Automatic Recording or Manual Recording)
Could you upload some sceenshots to elaborte your issue ?
    Thanks,

  • Help! The secondary click on my trackpad for right and left bottom corners stopped working after 10.9.3 update??

MacBook Air 11" 2013...did the OSX update for 10.9.3 on 5/17/14 and my secondary click on my trackpad just stopped working. Checked the system preferences and tried the other corner found it doesn't work for either bottom corners for secondary clicking. It will pull up the secondary click menu when I have the "two finger tap" option selected, but I don't use that one at all, it's not a natural function for me.
I tried doing a hard reset 3 times and that didn't do it. Then I reinstalled the combo update for 10.9.3 and that didn't work either....
    ... ..any ideas??
    -lost without a secondary clicker

The full release of 10.9.3 is available from App Store now. You can re download the full version from your Purchase tab in App Store. After download there will be Install OSX Maverics in Applications folder. Before installing OSX on top of the one on your system, copy the a install aoSX Mavericks to your external drive or any location. You can copy it to Applications folder for reinstall after that if you want.
The new download will be 10.9.3. Before doing so, please try to boot into safe boot, by holding shift key and power on. Try your secondary mouse click to see if it work. If it is the same, then it will be driver corruption, try reinstall will help.

  • Hot Corners not working after using Call of Duty 4

So I have noticed that Hot Corners are not working after i use COD4.
I know that the game uses different resolution and somehow interupts the hot corner software. Buty why and how I dont know.
I very often close COD4 by using Cmd+Q (or something like that)... But it doesnt matter if I quit it the "real" way. Hot corners still stops working after I use it.
Hot corners works again if I reboot my iMac and also if I have used COD4 then go to System Preferences and Hot Corneres and make one change there.. then it magically works again.
Does anyone have any definate solution for this.
PS: I have an iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. 4GB 1067 MHz RAM and Lion 10.7.3.
I also have a Macbook Pro with the same problem.... and both computers running Lion OSX and are always updated....
    Peace
    /Bobo

Does your 8600M GT have 128 or 256MB VRAM? Both versions shipped with that model MBP. The game sysreqs says that, while 128 is minimum, 256 is preferred. We all know what "minimum" means in software advertising.
Have you downloaded the SL Graphics updater?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1083
It's supposed to fix certain games but it's worth a shot.
I'm surprised that the temp doesn't change. Even running the COD2 demo on my Late 2007 2.2G with 2G RAM and the 128MB version of the 8600, temps go up to 160-170F. That was under 10.5. Just upgraded to 10.6 Sunday, so I guess I should check COD2 again, because SL seems to run cooler on my MBP.

  • Right USB Port stops working after disconnecting device since 10.9.2

    Hi,
Since updating to 10.9.2 the right USB port on my MBA stops working after diconnecting a device (tested: external hard drive, USB flash drive, USB HSPA Modem). The only way to get the port recognizing the device on that port is to do a restart. If the device is connected from starting the MBA it works fine, if I then eject the drive and reinsert it or a different USB device the device doesn't get recognized. The devices do get power, my WD passport ultra spins up just fine, the USB HSPA modem also indicates it's working (with signal) but nothing shows up in finder or diskutility. If the modem is connected from start (and thus working) and then disconnect from the internet but not remove the drive I can reconnect to the internet. The problem only occurs after disconnecting the device. The port becomes inactive. The left USB port works as expected.
    Steps I've taken:
    Disk Persmission
    PRAM
    SMC
    Reapplied the 10.9.2 update
    Sent feedback to Apple

It's an Apple Pro keyboard and mouse, the dongle is
plugged into the Mac and not the keyboard. The same
set-up is, and has been working on all our other
    Macs.
The sleep issue sounds interesting- hum, maybe...
Is your keyboard plugged into one of the USB connections on an Apple monitor? If so, you may want to change that connection to one that is on the G5 itself. My monitor came with a warning note indicating that problems will likely occur if the keyboard is connected to the monitor.
I also had a problem with the automatic sleep function. After much trouble-shooting and a logic board replacement, it was concluded that coming out of the automatic sleep function with any USB device active would freeze the entire USB bus. After disabling automatic sleep in system preferences, I've had no freezing problems. My machine works fine with the manual sleep function in the Apple Menu.

  • Cmd+right shortcut has stopped working

Ever since updating to Snow Leopard from Leopard, the Cmd+right arrow built-in shortcut to go to the end of a line of text has stopped working. This used to work in most applications, now it doesn't work at all.
I don't see anything in System Prefs > Keyboard > Shortcuts that is overriding it, and I haven't installed any applications different from when I was on Leopard. Cmd+left arrow shortcut is still working too, which makes this even weirder.
Any suggestions as to where I would start to troubleshoot this?

I'd hazard the guess at this moment that it isn't hardware related, but don't discount that until you test with a USB keyboard perhaps.
I hate to say it, but there seem to be a number of things like this lately with reports of the issue mysteriously clearing itself shortly thereafter. I'm not trying to bucket shop a load of pixie dust, so please don't make any plans around this particular summation
