I was updating my iPhone and it failed and now my phone is frozen with the Apple Icon. It wont turn off or anything

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I was updating my iphone4 and it got to the end and said error could not update and now my phone is frozen on the apple start screen???

I was udating my iphone 4 software on itunes, it got all the way to the end, my phone switched off then it said error could not download software and now my phone is frozen on the start screen????

Unplug it and let unit go dead. Then hold your Home button down and plug the USB power cord back in. iTunes should see it and then restore.

I am trying to update my phone and the phone is frozen on a screen that has the itunes symbol and the computer connection showing.
I did not have itunes on my computer.
So I downloaded itunes set up which took an hour or so.
Now what do I do?

Please check 2 things in your computer.
1. Right click 'My Computer' => Manage => Services & Applications => Services. Look for Apple Mobile Service at the top. Status must be STARTED. If stop, please start it.
2. Open iTunes in computer. For Windows 7, go to iTunes Store => Authorise this Computer => key-in your Apple ID and password when prompted. For Windows 8, press ALT and S together. A pop-up window would show information of authorising computer. Click Authorise this Computer => key-in your Apple ID and password when prompted.

I was updating my ipod and had to stop it so held down the power and home buttons. Now my ipod is frozen with the apple logo showing. The computer will not recognise it so it will not charge or restore. Is there anything that I can do myself?

hey man, i feel your pain... here's my story and i'm pretty sure this will work for you... on the 19th of september i went to upgrade ios 6 and paused it about 1/10 through... when i plugged my phone up at night the screen was at the normal lock screen.. when i woke up at 10:30 am i went to check my phone and the screen appeared as an apple logo with a progression bar about 6/10 full.. it didn't seem to be progressing any more, but i guess that was only because it was so slow trying to download over wifi because it had all night to finish downloading.. anyways i needed to check my texts and the time so i held down the lock button and the phone turned off during the download.. when i tried to turn it on the apple logo would appear like normal trying to boot up.. then it would fade away and cut off.. then seconds later try to turn on again, by itself, repeatedly for hours on september 20. i tried restarting it (holding lock and home button down 10-15 seconds) but the problem with that is that the phone was already trying to turn on itself so it never would restart correctly... (continued turning on and off by itself).. i went to verizon and they said my phone is screwed.. go to apple if you wanna pay.. i called apple support and a lady helped me out here's the solution that worked after hours of thinking my phone is totally screwed.. when the phone is dark and cut off.. press and hold the home button before you plugin your sync cable to your usb port.. (have itunes up and ready) continue holding the home button and plugin the sync cable.. still holding the button, wait for a message from itunes appear that says it recognizes your device in recovery mode.. press ok.. the screen on your iphone should be a snyc cable and and arrow pointing to an itunes symbol... from there it is pretty self explanatory.. you will need to restore and update your phone from there which should be an option after you press ok... it takes awhile.. your phone will then go through one, or maybe a few progression bars (it may vary, not sure).. while your itunes will be restoring software & firmware.. when everything is done on itunes and your phone.. your phone should boot right up!!! reply if you have any more questions.. i'm so glad i resolved my issue today.. good luck!

First of all, your post says you have an iPhone 3G running iOS 6.0.1. That is not possible, as the iPhone 3G cannot run any iOS past 4.2.1.
So, if you simply made a mistake with that information, we can proceed. If not, your iPhone was hacked or jailbroken, and likely cannot be saved.
Try recovery mode as described below. You may have to try to put the iPhone into recovery mode more than once.

After 11.1 update, podcast page now shows 1500 undeletable ones with the cloud symbol. Turn it off?

Itunes just updated to v11.1 for windows 7. On the podcast page every one of my subscriptions now show ALL available podcasts with the little cloud logo. I cannot delete them nor is there a place to turn that off. If I download it then delete it, it goes right back to the cloud logo. I want it back the way it used to be just a few days ago where it only showed downloaded podcasts that I can delete when done.. Please help me get rid of that. Thank you.

Huh. My complaint actually got fixed at some point; I'm on 11.1.3 (8) now, and it's been working for a while. (My current complaint is that iOS 7's podcast app introduced the feature of letting you download eps directly on your phone, rather than sync-ing over from iTunes, but in the process they made it somewhat harder to manage your podcast subscriptions; I still haven't 100% figured out what actions will sync between phone and computer, and what I need to do manually in both places. It's definitely not working as smoothly as, say, the way Contacts syncs through iCloud.)

Due the unsuccessful updation your iPhone has stuck in recovery mode. you need to download the iOS 7.0.2 from the following link http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS7/091-9872.20130924.2wc82/iPhone4,1_7.0.2_11A501_Re store.ipsw and restore your device manually,please make sure you have all the backup stored since this will be a restore not an update so you data will be lost and you will have to restore your data from backup.You can do this by shift + mouse click the restore button in iTunes this will give you an opendialogue box to select the iPSW from which you want to update your iPhone after that have some patience and let the iTunes complete the installation and enjoy iOS 7.0.2.

Same thing happened to me last week had to update than said some sort of error so it told me to restore I did that and it said restore couldnt be completed !! So I called my service provider and I had to press the circle button and the power button and hold for 15 seconds while still plugged in to the comp , than to try and restore and than update !! And it worked !! Hope that helps!!

My iphone 3 has completely frozen. Facebook and other apps were not loading properly so I deleted facebook and went to the apps store and reloaded. It was still loading and then my phone just froze - I turned it off and then tried to turn it back on and all I am getting is the apple logo in the middle of the phone and rather stupidly I have never synched it!! I know what an idiot!!! I have tried calling vodafone but not surprise they are closed for technical help at this time of night.
