Searching from the url address window has stopped working

The space that shows the address of the window I'm on has disappeared. How do I get it back? My computer is old. I use Firefox version 2.0.0.20. Thanks!

Lost URL address

The URL address bar has disappeared from my toolbar. when I go to 'customize toolbar' I can see it but when I close this and view my homepage in Safari it isn't there. the only way I can type a URL is if I select Google which I previously saved as a bookmark.
I have also tried to change my current toolbar and nothing happens. It's like it's locked or something.
I'm a very new MAC user and getting so frustrated

Have you tried dragging the address bar from "customize toolbar" up to the top of your browser?

Hover the cursor over that line until it becomes a big plus sign with arrows on the left and right. Click and drag the cursor so that the rest of the address line is the way you want it.

Firefox 8 crashes when clicking on a link that has a very long URL address

Hardware/Software Setup Scenario:
PC with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 7 Pro at home for which all ISP (Cox Communications) e-mail is integrated with Microsoft Outlook 7. New Apple iPhone 4S linked to MS Outlook Contacts, Calendars, Tasks (Reminders) and Notes via iCloud. All e-mail bypasses iCloud (not needed).
Problem:
When initially migrating Microsoft Office 7 Contacts to Contacts in iCloud, Outlook creates a new folder named "Contacts in iCloud," which does synchronize quickly with your iCloud Contacts folder (in Outlook) on your computer at home and your iPhone when you're on the road. That is a great thing to have, and it works well for my calendar, which constantly changes. The unfortunate predicament is that there are some major problems that occur when you convert your Contacts records to iCloud as follows.
My Contact Notes in Microsoft Office 7, which contain rich formatted text, Microsoft program hyperlinks and live URL addresses (web sites, email addresses, etc.) are all lost because iCloud converts all of it into basic text, rendering the entire Contact Notes box useless. The only way to note a hyperlink is to go back to the web site or email address (if you still have it) and copy the properties in plain text into your notes -- not a reasonable solution.
An additional problem seen when moving Outlook Contacts to Contacts in iCloud is that the Contact Notes in the new "Contacts in iCloud" are systematically affected by sporadically dropped spaces between words requiring a manual or spell check "cleanup" of every contact -- not reasonable for a folder of approximately 1,000 contacts.
I have also found that importing my Outlook Contacts into iCloud empties the Outlook "Contacts" folder. Once you have created your new "Contacts in iCloud" folder, the Outlook contacts are gone for good, unless you want to retrieve them from a backup file. The problem is that Outlook will only allow one of these two Contact folders for use; so you’re faced with choosing between syncing your Outlook Contacts manually between your iPhone on iTunes using the USB cable connected to your computer -- not reasonable for someone on the move; or, transfer your contacts to iCloud live with worthless notes for your contacts.
Can anyone suggest a better work around?

I'm replying to myself here, but just in case someone else has this problem: I uninstalled the Avery Toolbar and iCloud works on by browser once again. I don't know why or how Avery Toolbar makes a difference, but apparently, it does. If anyone knows how or why, I'd be interested.

Exchange 2010 add new email address space and additional smtp address to all recipients

Our company is being bought and we need to change the email address for every recipient within the business group/user.
I have added the new domain to the Accepted Domains and have confirmed that if I manually change a users smtp address that mail flow works and the postmaster account receives email.
looking in the E-mail address policies section within the EMC we currently have 2 polices one for the current company policy call company.co.uk with a priority 1 and one called Default policy.
when I try to edit these I get a warning message which states that this policy was created with an earlier version of exchange I have looked on our exchange 2003 environment and have found the polices and can edit them.
Now my questions are
1. should I create the policy on the exchange 2003 environment or 2010
2. if I create a new policy on the exchange 2010 environment what will happen to the old addresses?
3. I must be able to preserve the old addresses and must make the new address space the primary address?
if anyone could help with the steps required or if there are any gotcha to avoid.

Email address policy will change the email address if applied immediately except for the users which has "Automatically update email addresses based on e-mail address policy" option turned on
You will get the list of users with "Automatically update email addresses based on e-mail address policy" option turned off by the below command.

Yes but you can keep only one as replying address.
Please keep both address in the email address policy to preserve old email address to the users.
If you want an autoreply, then use a hub transport rule in Exchange an Outlook rule and allow auto-replies to the internet. (auto-replies to the outside network is not a good idea)

Address Book Application Dissapeared!

I dont know what happened but I just went to open my Address Book from my dock and I got the question mark so I went to the apps folder, no Address Book! I did a spotlight search, and it found the Address Book Widget which I ran, and it had my contacts in it and my mail is still pulling from there, but what the **** happened to the Address Book Application?? I had this happen once before with the Preview program, just up and dissapeared on me.
I do not sync to mac mail, and nothing out of the ordinary. Was there yesterday, gone today. Any thoughts?

Well, applications don’t just disappear by themselves. If they keep disappearing from /Applications/ in your case, it has to be because someone removes them from there...
Anyway, you may reinstall Address Book as described in the second part of the following article:
Custom installs in Mac OS X 10.4
Note that Address Book may appear grayed out in the installer, but will be checked if you check Applications there, and will be installed if Address Book has been removed from the /Applications/ folder.
If the version of the system software on your install disks is earlier than what you’re using now (and only in that case), then you must also reinstall the Combo Update for the type of computer and the version of Mac OS X you’re using, to bring Address Book back in sync with the rest of the system:

Flip-flopping URL address

I recently read about how to go about changing the URL
address of a page so that it is somewhat reversed; where the domain
name is after a sub directory name. The effect, for my purposes,
would be to have the site address with a customers name first (the
customer's name is the name of a sub-folder in the root folder),
and then the domain name. The effect is a more personalized URL.
EXAMPLE:
Current URL -
http://verycoolsite.com/dairyqueen
(opens the index page from the sub-folder, dairyqueen)
Desired URL -
http://dairyqueen.verycoolsite.com
(same site index page is opened, but more personalized effect)
This is often seen in blog URL's (davedog.blogger.com).
So, how is this done? Is it done from the ISP? Or is there
code to add to the html that will do this?
Any help appreciated.

If you don't own a domain name, please don't use it in
examples. Use
either sitename.invalid (the whole "invalid" top level domain
is
reserved for non-existent domains), or use
example.com|net|org, which
are reserved domain names to use as examples.
It's a combination of DNS (subdomain.example.com has to point
somewhere) and server configuration (your server has to know
that
subdomain.example.com should get served the contents of
/home/sbisa/public_html
Blogs are different in that they are (for the most part)
database
driven, and sbisablog.example.com would be more likely to be
the
equivalent of example.com/blogindex.php?username=sbisa, and
blogindex.php generates pages based on that username.

Source URL/Address - Hazel

Hazel is not supporting my credit card so I cant get it. But in the trial version Hazel has this property "Source URL/Address" which is the same information as "Where from" value in "Get info" in the contextual menu of a file.
Does anyone know how to access this Where from value through AppleScript? If Hazel can do it why cant AppleScript?

HttpServlet and multiple URL addresses question

I've created a HttpServlet using the New... wizard (BTW, my web.xml file wasn't updated so I had to do it manually). I've implemented doGet and doPost methods in this class. I specified an url-pattern in web.xml as <url-pattern>/httpservlet/*</url-pattern>.
If I'd like more than one URL address inside this servlet, what do I need to do? I'd like to have an URL that only supports POST method. This is something I have now as my doGet method looks like this:

    PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();

    out.println("<head><title>HttpServlet</title></head>");
    out.println("<body>");

you can create another servlet mapping in web.xml for the same Servlet. However, note that the access path doesn't determine the access method. Your servlet still need to check if it was called from a GET or POST request

I also get the same problem, this is very tedious but if you edit the song somehow and re-save it then it will copy. Not sure what the problem is at all, tried contacting Apple about this to no avail.
