My Verizon Issue

Greetings All,
I had my service installed today, 8-5-11.  Everything is great!  Installer was great and I am happy.  When I try to log in to My Verizon, it says they do not have any account by my name.  I then type in my phone number and the same message appears.  I called the 888 number and was told my account was to new.  I find this strange sense the system is telling me to use the My Verizon function for different reasons.
How long does it take the system to recognize me as a customer?  I would like to pay my bill this way etc.  Any help is appreciated.

  • Is my Apple-Issued Replacement for a Verizon-Issued iPhone 5 Unlocked?

Due to a water accident I went to Apple and they sold me a replacement for my Verizon-Issued iPhone 5.  If I understand correctly, Verizon's iPhone 5 was shipped to customers unlocked.  Is the phone that I got from Apple as a replacement (and I was told that I was getting exactly what I already had) unlocked?  I really need to know as I am about to go overseas.
    Thanks

Yes, the GSM side of your replacement phone is unlocked.

  • Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router - Does Verizon Issue You With A Public IP Address?

    Hi,
    http://www.verizonwireless.com/home-office-solutions/4g-lte-broadband-router-with-voice/
Regarding the above Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router, does Verizon issue you with a public IP address that can be accessed from outside of their network or do they issue you with a private IP addresss just like they do with their JetPacks?
    Thank you!

That's an excellent question olimits7! It will be my pleasure to assist with your inquiry. Our voice and data services are transmitted using a 10-digit mobile number on our network. May I ask do you have the mobile number on your account? If you are interested in a private IP address then we can discuss options. Please advise so we can begin.
    Thank you…

  • Anybody having Verizon issues this morning????

My phone is nothing more than an MP3 player this morning, no data, no voice, nothing. I have anywhere from 1-4 bars of signal, but cannot make a call, not even to voicemail. My data signal is completely gone, and nothing connects. I have rebooted the phone and pulled the battery also. My wife's Continuum and my mother-in-law's basic phone aren't even working...
I am in the southern tier of New York.

NuDroidUsrr, how frustrating to have the whole family experiencing signal issues with your phones. I'm sorry you did not receive a response on the day you posted, but I hope your issue has been resolved since that time. Please let us know if you are continuing to have signal issues in your area and what specific problems are occurring. You may also send me a Private Message if you are still experiencing issues for this length of time. We may need to perform trouble shooting with your device and area.
No, it is fine, it was a local outage of Verizon's, and came back later in the day.

  • Does Verizon issue any 5Ghz routers?

From my apartment in NYC, there are a lot of WiFi access points.  Vistumbler shows at least 25 networks, all except 1 are using 2.4Ghz spectrum.  Some people were using channels  besides 1,6,11, (causing extra interference) although now there is only 1 after an appeal to our building listserv.
I had a Actiontec MI424WR (single antenna, grey front panel, I forget the revision letter, but it was "early") and my speeds were quite slow.  Via their real-time chat, I asked about a router upgrade, and they offered me a better router.  I really wanted a 5Ghz router since my range is not an issue (not a huge apt) but interference in 2.4Ghz is.  In the chat (which I have a transcript of, I asked explicitly if it would be 5Ghz  capable, and was told it was.  But I received the same model number router, except revision "I" now, with 2 antennae and a red front panel.  As far as I can tell it is 2.4Ghz only.  Fortunately, they did not charge me for this upgrade, or I would be really steamed.
But still I wonder - Does Verizon supply any 5Ghz capable routers?

Yes they offer one for about a 139.99 or you might be able to ask them if they will rent it, I think it's about 5 or 6 dollars to rent.  I think you have to call in for this one, it's new.
    It's a greenwave g1101 Wireless AC router.
OR a nice option is their 5 GHZ wireless extender,  about 75 bux     you can buy this one online, and we haven't heard a single complaint about them yet on the forums, if that's helpful.  nothing but glowing remarks.

  • HT4528 Activation Server busy?  Verizon issues?

My iPhone 4s which I've had for over 1 year suddenly deactivated itself.  Now it's saying the activation server is busy.  This happened 12 hours ago and it's still out.  Is this an Apple problem or Verizon problem?  Is anyone else having this issue?

Were you running iOS 7 beta?  If so, as a developer you need to log into the Developer forum for assistance.
Not a developer and running iOS 7 beta?  <edited by host>

  • Can I use my Verizon-issued iPhone 4 with another service provider?

No. The Verizon iPhone 4 is a CDMA phone. It will not work with any other carrier.

  • Non verizon issue

verizon think I have a non verizon phone but I bought it from verizon. Can anyone help me fix it?

sheton, Oh my! This is strange, indeed. Which make/model phone did you purchase? tbo27 provided a great link that will be helpful in ensuring the device is compatible with our network. What error messages are you receiving when trying to activate the phone? We'll do all we can to help.

  • Tiger 10.4.11 pages not loading! Possibly Verizon issue?

I have a new IMac with Tiger OS. I use a Verizon Wireless DSL to connect using airport. The signal shows its strong on the meter but Im having constant on and off problems loading many pages that always worked fine a few months before. I can load a few pages and then one will just show progress bar barely covering www and it freezes. Sometimes reloading helps sometimes not. Its happening on too many urls to be the webpages IMO. I get it with the main site and then all the links within. I cleared safari's cache and reset it many times with no results. Looked for third party plug-ins and only found one for Move-Media so I moved it to my desktop but no improvement. I can't find any imput managers (~library/) even when I do a search? That was mentioned in another thread. It just seems like I have a very weak signal but the meter shows its strong. Same story when I try to use Firefox. Same also happens with my laptop (mac as well 10.4.11). Is it the router? its my 3 rd one and quite new? Should I contact Apple Care? This was fine till about a month or so ago.

  • FaceTime and "Verizon" Issue Fixed!!

At least here in Nebraska, a FaceTime fix has been pushed to Verizon users who are on old Alltel plans.  I also now have "Verizon" in my banner!  This all happened around 6:30 p.m. CST.  My wife is visiting family in Illinois this weekend and the fix was also pushed to her new iPhone at the exact same time.  I'm thinking that means the fix might be across-the-board for all people on Alltel plans?

  • ? about not using verizon issued DSL modem.

I'm going to be doing a network upgrade and I'm looking to purchase a Netgear DGND3700 N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit ADSL2+ Modem Router and a gigabit switch (not sure what switch I'll be getting yet).  Since the router has a built in DSL modem do I have to contact verizon tech support to have them white-list my router/modem?.
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There is no need to tie Verizon into this. To connect your modem you will need to set it up for PPPoE connectivity with the right username and password, or if you're in a DHCP area just leave the DSL modems disconnected for a few hours to break the lease. Keep the Verizon modem around should you require any support, since they'll likely ask you to connect it before troubleshooting the line.

  • Verizon - Service already active issue

    Hi,
I'm having issues with an iPad that I bought a couple of months ago. I bought it and I've never used the Verizon data plan and recently tried to enter all my details to use it and I started getting in the mess that Verizon has created for iPad. I get this dialog when I try to view account in Cellular data setting. It says "Your ipad is already active on a subscription that cannot be managed on this device". What does this mean? I've spent more than 12 hours cumulatively between customer reps and the store guys but they keep pointing me to one another and no one has resolved it. I spoke to an apple rep and he said that it's a Verizon issue and they can't do anything. I'm wondering why did I pay around $900 to buy a piece that doesn't do what it should do. What are my options now? Help please I'm super frustrated but I'm trying keep my calm.
    -Kalyan.

Spoke to cust rep and got a new sim card which resolved this issue

  • Verizon just needs to admit the issue with the new Android release and work to resolve things

The carrier owes it to their customers to test new os releases for phones they support.  So whether this is Android or Samsung (I have an S5 Galaxy), who might be more at fault for this horrible release, it is the carrier that all blame must fall back to.  This has to be a Verizon issue to work and quickly resolve.  I have never been on any of these forums due mainly to no need.  My galaxy was awesome and Verizon was solid.  This OS update has changet all that.  Since the update here are my issues that have been happening.  (I am sure I will discover more issues as people on these forums are pointing out.)
Phone reboots on its own 4 to 6 times per day.
Phone gets real hot for no reason.
Battery life is half what it used to be.
    Charging time is much longer.
A number of apps that never had issues now keep failing.
Phone never used to lock up but now has been locking up a number of times and sometimes requires a reboot.
Music apps that never had a problem now just stop playing for no reason.
Phone seems to bog down quickly.
All in all, this phone Android update has been one of the worst phone experiences so far.  I am not sure how Verizon can avoid taking steps to fix this and publicly acknowledge there are problems.

Agree. Overnight my phone update locked up. Luckily I woke up and noticed it and was able to spend the time to restart the puone..then the phone was too hot and had to 'cool' then at some point it locked up again and I ended up waking 15 mins after my 1st alarm and 15 mins before my 2nd one....never went off because phone locked up. Would have made everyone late to school and work. Today my phone is running all kinds of apps I never started (in the background) and battery has drained faster than ever before. I am really frustrated that the only help I get is to disable these apps or reset the update through my computer. Since others are having similar issues, I'm convinced the problem is once again with the update. Thanks, samsung and Verizon for making us upgrade and them ruining our experience!

  • Issues with Verizon JetPack 5510L

For some odd reason, whenever I turn on my Verizon JetPack 5510L, it says "invalid battery." This is a Verizon-issued battery.
When I try and attempt a hard reset, it freezes on "MiFi."
Has anyone heard of this issue and how can it be resolved?

        @jack0916,
Let's get to the bottom of this and get your JetPack back up & running!
I researched this and did not find it to be a known reported issue with the device. How long has this been going on? Are you seeing the "invalid battery" error all the time or it is random?
Let's try a soft reset http://vz.to/1cYEx14 and retest. Keep me posted of the issue persist. We may have to replace the device through the warranty. There is no cost for the replacement as long as it's still under warranty and there is no damage to the device.

  • BUG: Verizon iPhone Visual Voicemail Not Working with Ported Number

I ported my number from ATT to Verizon with the new iPhone 5.
Visual Voicemail keeps asking me to set it up with a password. Then it says unauthorized. I spent an hour on the phone with Verizon support. They said I had to wipe my phone and set it up as a new phone.
I backed up, set up as new, went to Voicemail. It called my voicemail. I set up the account, and left a test voicemail. Visual Voicemail worked.
Then I restored back to my iPhone backup, getting all my data, apps, and contacts back, and the Visual Voicemail doesn't think it is setup anymore.
What gives??? Is this an Apple or Verizon issue? It works on a "new" setup phone, not a restored one???

I found that this was an issue (when I setup my iPhone 5) was solved when I went in and reset the network settings.
It seems that somehow the provider network settings weren't quite right:
Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings
After resetting the network settings, everything just worked again.
Perhaps the same thing can correct the issue for you as well. (worth a shot)
