My vibrate doesn't work

i have looked on the internwt on how to fix my vibrate and nothing is working.
it won't work on any setting at all i keep having problems with my blackberry and i've not had it a year.
everyone i know who has a blackberry have had problem but not like mine it doesn't make sense

Have you tried a simple battery pull? While the device is on, remove the battery for 15-30 seconds, reinsert and wait for the device to reboot. This often works for these sorts of issues.
If that doesn't work, the next step is to ensure that your notifications are indeed supposed to vibrate according to your settings. Go to Sounds and then change the sounds associated with your active profile. Make sure that things like Phone Calls, Messages, etc are set to vibrate as desired.
The next step would be to see if its a software issue. In this case, you would want to reload the software on the device using the method described here:
http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Device-software-for-BlackBerry/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-S...
If none of that works, I would take the phone in for warranty repairs as you may be dealing with a hardware related problem.
I hope this info helps!

Bought a new iPhone 6 and synced from iTunes but vibration doesn't work. I did the reset option using side and home buttons but in vain. Please don't tell me to set up a new device coz its gonna be a hassle restoring apps, emails, contacs...etc.

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:

  • My vibrate doesn't work on iPhone 5??

I bought my iPhone 5 the day of release. And since I've had it, the vibrate doesn't work. I've already tried restarting my settings to no avail. My phone says that it's on, but the only two settings I can use are sound or complete silence. Please help!

Have you tried going into settings -> sounds and seeing if they were disabled there?

  • IPhone 3GS upgraded to iOS5, vibrate doesn't work

I upgraded my iPhone 3GS to iOS5 a couple weeks back and since then vibrate hasn't worked.
I've checked that vibrate is enabled in Sounds and also checked Notifications.
I managed to get the iPhone to vibrate once after the upgrade, but not since. Even using the silent switch doesn't vibrate the phone anymore, neither does plugging the phone into a power source.
    Any ideas?

Hi to the forum. This is my first post - ever!
It's taken me 25 years of Apple equipment purchase and enthusiastic advocation to get to this point.
And what has got me here? 'The GPS on my iPhone 3G has doesn't work'. If you Google this statement you get 12 million hits. It seems to me that's probably 12 million people who have a problem with an Apple product they've purchased.
I've read a lot of the solutions that other users have come up with - dozens of different ones. I've updated the iPhone software as soon as I can, I've been patient, I've given Apple chance to sort it out. I've even gone back to printing out Google maps onto paper (remember 'paper') and taken those out with me in the car to find my way around town.
However - the southern hemisphere summer is coming and I want to use the (totally brilliant) Navionics chart/GPS App on the boat. No chance. According to the iPhone we're in Africa not New Zealand.
So what to do? I can't find any 'official' info from Apple. I've no idea how the politics of these situations work - and I don't care! 12 million hits can't be wrong. Apple needs to tell it's users what is happening (even if they're still working on it), and when we can expect a fix.
Come on Apple, keep us in the loop - we love your products - and we want to keep advocating for you!
PS - this is the best place I could find to have ths little discusion - if anyone has a more direct line to God (err I mean Apple) please let me know!

  • N900 Water Damage / Vibrate doesn't work

My phone was exposed to water and I read an article to use white rice to soak up the water and hope it works.  Well, it works...but the vibrate feature when receiving messages, phone calls on silent, etc...doesn't work.  Anything I can do to make it work again?  Like a master reset?  Or is there nothing I can do in this instance?

ropped your phone in water? - Here's what to do next.

Accidents happen with phones and water but it doesn't always mean that all hope is lost. Below is a brief guide as to what you should do if your phone has been totally immersed in water.
    1. Take the phone out of the water as quickly as possible.
    2. Do not attempt to switch it on as this may cause further damage.
    3. Remove the battery as quickly as you can, also remove the memory and sim cards.
    4. If dropped in fresh water dry it off with a towel. If dropped in salt water rinse it thoroughly with fresh water. I know it sounds crazy getting it wet again but salt can cause a lot of internal damage such as corrosion. Again dry with a towel. You may also want to rinse it if you dropped it in a toilet.
    5. Place the phone, battery and it's wet accessories in a plastic container (like a lunch box) and completely cover it with uncooked rice, use plenty of it. Again this sounds crazy but rice has desiccating properties that help draw the water out of the phone. Do not place a lid on the container.
    6. Place the container somewhere very warm and dry for at least 3 days. An airing cupboard is often the ideal place.
    7. Do not use a hair dryer directly on the phone to speed up the process. Too much heat can cause even more damage.
This isn't guaranteed to work but many people have successfully revived their phones and retrieved their data using this method.
Keep in mind that your phone is on borrowed time after you do this. Make it your first priority to retrieve any data that you would like to keep. It may only work for a few minutes, days, weeks, months or it may even last years.
You should monitor the phone carefully during charging. If it gets very hot the battery may be damaged and should be replaced.
After any exposure to water you no longer have a warranty as water damage is not covered. Any insurance policies on the phone may also be voided unless you are covered for accidental damage.
A more efficient alternative to rice is silica gel. You most likely won't have enough of the stuff to hand when the accident happens but it is good to use. Silica gel can be bought from electronic wholesalers like this example. Thank you to shuntfield for this information.
    Good luck!

  • Vibration doesn't work anymore SIII

So out of the blue, the vibration on my SIII stopped working.
When I say it stopped working I mean I think the motor is broken. I tried turning off all vibrations/vibration intensity and back on, restarted phone, powered down phone then back on, tried dialing that *#0872# thing, I even did a factory reset of my phone, and still nothing.
All the vibration, whether it's for notifications, calls, games, apps, or haptic, is not working.
I'm thinking I have to send it back to Verizon, as I only got it in August of last year..
I can't think of anything else other than the motor wore out..

. Simple yet perplexing.. I bought the waterproof case and had them put it on before leaving the store.. GRANTED, I never read the instructions.. Just knew it must have been something in the way I programmed the phone. I especially loved that you put up an illustration with your explanation.

  • Vibrate doesn't work

On my iPhone 5, all vibrate settings (even custom ones) produce a constant vibrate. As in if I let the phone ring it vibrates without stopping, with no pattern. Nothing works - tried a restart, a force restart, turning vibrate off and on.
    Anyone experience this?

If you have Settings > Sounds > Vibrate (both of them) set to ON and you are still not getting vibration, it's most likely a hardware problem. Call AppleCare or visit an Apple Store. Be sure you sync just before you go - if they confirm it's a hardware issue, they'll give you a replacement iPhone, which you can restore at home to put your contents/settings back.

My Iphone 4 screen just went black and it wont come on but it vibrates on ringer. Ps: The home button doesn't work. What do I do!?

If it never worked after the screen replacement then it would appear that you have a hardware problem either caused by the repair or the problem that lead to the screen replacement.

My iPhone vibrated for 3 minutes and died. The screen was black but the phone was still vibrating. I searched what to do but everything said to reset it. But one day my power button got stiff and doesn't work. I tried to plug it into iTunes but it was not recognized. What am I supposed to do?

let it charge for 60 minutes, see if it awakes.
Plug it to itunes , awake or not and hold both buttons for a couple of seconds
