My video clips are rotated left on my harddrive.

After I synced my video clips and pics to my harddrive my video clips are opening up rotated LEFT. How do I fix / correct the view and how do I prevent this from happeing in the future? Please advise.

Well, MS WMP does not always honour the metadata that dictates the way the video was shot and should be displayed.
You need to use some video editing software that can rotate the video for the corrext orientation.

  • How Adobe Premier Pro's linked video clips are ID in Bridge?

    I just finished a FEATURE-FILM in HD comprised of 40 + different Adobe Premier Projects;
    Obviously, at the end you end up with many video clips associated to manyAdobe Premier Projects (i.e.; one video clip could be being used by 17 Adobe Premier Projects), and some video clips are associated to none.
    So this is the thing: I need to delete 5,000 + useless-not associated video clips, however, to make sure that I am not breaking any link, I need to know that they are, or they are not associated with any of my Adobe Premier Projects.
    How does Bridge indicate that a video clip is or is not associated (linked) to an Adobe Premier Project?
    Thank you in advance for your help

  • Video clips are missing from iMovie...Yosemite?

    I recently downloaded Yosemite. I had a number of video clips (from Cannon Camera) in iMovie; they are no longer showing up. These clips were of my deceased mom. I've tried finding them in Time Capsule - NOT there. Can someone PLEASE HELP ME.
    Thank you
    Mike

    I actually found a number of my videos in iPhoto and have created a new folder on desktop. I have moved the clips there and backup things up using Time Capsule. I know that many people may think that Time Capsule is antiquated and they're using iCloud. For those of us that don't use iCloud for photos, etc. I think you need to have a folder of items on your desktop in order to be saved in Time Capsule. Just thought I's share my experience and prevent others from troubles.
    I just don't understand why items (that previously existed in iMovie) are no longer appearing due to Yosemite upgrade.

  • I am trying to use my IPAD to video students in my conducting class, then email them the video for self evaluation.  However, many of the video clips are too long to email.  Is there anyway to compress the video clips and still email them so they can view

    I am trying to use my IPAD to video students in my conducting class, then email them the video for self evaluation.  However, many of the clips are too long to send.  Is there a way I can compress the clips and still send them via email so they can open and them using Quicken?
    Muzakmn

    It depends on the clips' content, their current format, and how much you would need to compress them, but in most cases and with most email systems, it's difficult to impossible to compress a clip enough to be able to get it through the attachment size limits of most email providers and still have the video be comprehensible. You'll probably need to find a web site or other method where you could post the videos for download by the students.
    You can try compression and trimming, though, and see if you can get the video small enough to email. An attachment often has to be 3MB or less to go through, though it depends entirely on the email systems on both ends. If you look to the right under "more like this" you'll find similar threads on the subject.
    Regards.

  • I'm having problems with iMovie - some of the video clips are black and can't watch them

  • My video clips are just black when i import them to iMovie! (they are mp4) p.s. i have alot of clips

    I keep importing all these video files which are mp4 format and they have thumbnail pics but when i hover over them to preview they turn black and i cant see any thing!?
    do i have the wrong format or what? I have worked with imovie alot and this has ever happend...
    HELP PLEASE!!

    It is possible that the clips are are variant of h.264 that iMovie cannot read.
    I would suggest that you get a free tool called MPEG Streamclip from squared 5 dot com.
    Drag one of your clips into MPeG Streamclip. The File/Export Using QuickTime. Choose either the Apple Intermediate codec or the h.264 codec.  H.264 will give you a smaller file. Apple Intermediate Codec will give you a larger file but smoother editing performance.
    In iMovie, use File/Import Movie to import this new clip.
    If that works, then MPEG Streamclip has a batch mode where you can do all the clips at once.

  • IMovie 10.0.4 imported video clips are blank and green?

    I've imported video clips successfully from a VHS player & from a few DVD's to iMovie 10.0.4. However, the most recent DVD I've wanted to import doesn't work. The original DVD is in UDF format. I converted it to MP4.4 format, and the first time I played it in iMovie, it worked fine. But the second time I played it, the whole clip was super jittery like it was skipping every 0.5 seconds. Then the third time I played it, the clip was just a blank green screen. I've tried using the most recent version of HandBreak to convert the DVD to a different format that supposedly iMovie can read, but the same thing happens when it's imported into iMovie - just a blank green clip. What am I doing wrong?? Thanks all.

    Same issue I've seen. I have a Sony DCR-TRV30. Had 40 tapes to transfer to iMovie 10.0.6. Had no issue on first 16 tapes then all the sudden I experienced the audio/video timing issue. Video looks good when it is getting imported, audio/video in sync on camera and in preview window on iMovie while importing. Tape finishes and you start to watch import when beginning of tape is in sync and by end it is several seconds out of sync. Tried deleting and installing iMovie again and that didn't help.

  • Audio in/out positions of video clip are wrong in metadata

    If I highlight a clip and "display in project" then display that in Source, and  "go to in", CS5.5 is wrongly telling me where the clip fromt he source material begins within the source.. it's like 8 minutes off at least. This project was imported via XL from FCP on a Mac, wondering if that wuold have anything to do with it...

    The only thing I understand is MAC, off, FCP and these terms do not bode well. For the rest is can only be attirbuted to those terms or OE irrespective of what you mean.
    8 minutes is meaningless for an invalid snail using FCP on a MAC with everything turned off with material that is not really material at all, so what are you complaining about? If this is yes, then why not? Everything makes perfect sense if you do not want to know what is going on, and then it is utterly logical, unless you do not understand what is illogical to start with and you understand that not understanding is a form of understanding that is logical to comprehend the illogical, or something like this...

  • Video clips are not sorted by capture date

    I am running a 30 days trial on LR5 as I want to "ascend" from Photoshop Elements / Organizer to PS CC / LR. I noticed immediately that movie clips from my (Sony) digital still cameras don't sort by their capture date/time, but instead put at the bottom of the catalog. This is a no-go for me - I have been used to Organizer doing it the right way for a decade, so the big pro should also be able to get it. The problem is the same in a converted Organizer catalog, and I am not sure I want to pay for a product that fails on such a significant matter.
    I have seem some related discussions about meta-data for video, but not found a solution. Adobe / others, what is the plan or best workaround?
    Kind regards,
    Henrik Hermansen

    LR's support for video metadata is "incomplete" (i.e. buggy), and since Adobe hasn't addressed the problem for over 3 years, it seems unlikely they'll fix it any time soon: Lightroom: LR4 Beta: Metadata applied to videos in Lightroom isn't available in other applications.   I use my Any File plugin to manage video files in LR -- it properly handles video metadata (but it's a little clumsy to use due to limitations of the LR plugin SDK).  The Video-Asset Management plugin works similarly but provides a few more features specific to video.

  • My video clips are taking extremely too long to load...

    This is my first time importing clips from my new Canon Vixia into iMovie. I'm used to the process taking a while, but it's been at least three days and the time remaining keeps increasing. It says the clips have been importing and now the thumbnails are generating but it's taking forever. How do I fix this?

    That could indicate a network issue. If on wifi try ethernet. Make sure router is up to date.
    Go to istumbler (Mac) or netstumbler (PC) to get a report of the network, look for signal strength and noise.
    Reboot ATV and router.

  • Is there a way to crop a video clip after I rotate it?

    I rotated a clip due to faulty attachment of my helmet cam.  Is there a way to crop the video clip after rotating it 4 degrees?  I would hate to lose this footage, but I cannot use it as it is.

    If your export looks like the screenshot in post 6, then please write your Publish+Share settings in a reply to confirm your present situation.
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    and then what?
    MPEG
    AVCHD
    XAVC-S
    AVi
    Windows Media
    QuickTime
    Image
    Audio
    You might only be seeing MPEG, AVCHD, and XAVC-S in the list because the other are hidden from view. You need to use the small scroll bar to the right of the choices to scroll down to the ones beyond XAVC-S.
    If you select MPEG and do nothing but accept the first choice of Presets which is NTSC DVD Standard, then you are going to get a 4:3 export. Under those circumstances, you have a 16:9 project setting, then you are going to get the type of result that you are seeing in post 6.
    If you are doing that, then look at the MPEG Presets = NTSC DVD Widescreen, do your export, and let us know if all is OK.
    Do you have any special receipt requirements for the export? With further information from you, I will help you with the export setting appropriate for your project and maintaining what you are created in the edit area.
    Thanks.

  • CS5 Video Clip no longer auto plays

    Hi,
    I have a video player that I'm creating in Flash -- my video clips are on different scenes and I wanted a "menu" bar to allow the viewer to pick which scene they wanted. I found tutorials for various scrolling thumbnail menu bars and I eventually found a code which allowed me to click from scene to scene.
    However, now that the menu bar works, the video clips do not automatically play anymore and I'm not sure why.
    This is the link to my file: http://www.mediafire.com/?y7oofbwg444lnp8
    I only have one action script on the scene, which is the top layer that has [AS]stop();[/AS]
    I have two buttons on either side of the video clip:
    [AS]on (press) {
              nextScene(); play();
    }[/AS]
    [AS]
    on (press) {
              gotoAndPlay("SI", 1);
    [/AS]
    This is the coding for the scrolling menu bar:

    // Okay... First let's set some variables......

    xphoto = 258;
    // Widthmovie = This variable hase to be set to the

    if (_ymouse > 390) {

    // (That makes sense.... Doesn't it!! ;-)
    if (xmouse < 258) {
              xphoto = xphoto + speed;
    // If the mouse moves to the right, the photo will scroll to the left:
    if (xmouse > 258) {
              xphoto = xphoto - speed;
    // Checking for the left end of the image:

    Then inside the thumbnail, to make it serve as a button:
    [AS]on (rollOver) {
              button2.gotoAndPlay(2);
    on (rollOut) {
              button2.gotoAndPlay(16);
    on (release) {
              // You can assign an actionscript to each Button in here:
              _level0.gotoAndPlay("my_target1");
    }[/AS]
    Thanks!

    you need to remove:
    gotoAndPlay (2)
    so your video can play.  you've embedded your flv into your timeline so it only plays when the timeline plays and that goto is preventing the timeline from playing.
    of course, if you remove that the thumbnail code won't work.
    bottomline:  your project code is a mess and using an flv in a timeline is not what you should be doing.
    you should have no code attached to objects, no frame loops and no flvs embedded in a timeline.  you should attach your code to a timeline, user an enterframe loop and use an flvplayback component to play your flv(s).

  • Syncing two video clips from different cameras.

    When both video clips are on the timeline filmed with two cameras to get different angles, is there a a keyboard shortcut to move either clip one frame at a time, or while listening to the audio a way to move the clips incremently until both videos are in sync. Some of the filming I used a 'clap' method, but wasn't able to always do this. Basically I think I am asking for fine adjustments along the timeline via the keyboard, frame by frame.

    You can select the clip in the timeline and press:
    "." (dot) to move right by 1 frame
    "," (comma) to move left by 1 frame
    ":" (colon) to move right by 5 frames
    ";" (semicolon) to move left by 5 frames
    If you keep the key pressed the clip will slowly move either wy.
    You can also select one clip in the timeline and type a number n: this will appear in a small window labeled Move; when you press Enter the selected clip will move n frames to the right. For example type 8 and Enter and the clip will move right by 8 frame. To move left by 8 frames type 8, left arrow, "-", Enter (to enter negative numbers (to move left) first enter the value and then add a "-" in front of the number).
    Make sure the tool is the Selection Tool (arrow) otherwise instead of moving the clip you apply other actions (slip, roll, etc.).

  • Crashes, graphics glitches, and more crashes when editing video clips

    Can't for the life of me figure out why PE keeps crashing on me, so I'm here for help.
    My system consists of a i7-970 hexacore, 6GB ram, 1x 500GB os drive, 3x500gb raid 0 drives (this is where my video clips are stored), 2x GeForce GTX460 video cards.
    OS is Windows 7 Profressional 64 bit.
    The video files I work with are generally in the 50-200GB size.
    A little background - the videos that I am working with are recordings from Battlefield Bad Company 2 that I have recorded with some capture software called Dxtory.
    I record at 1920x1080 at 60 FPS to avi files.  The avi files are using the "xtor" codec (Dxtory's own codec)
    [ISFT]    DxtoryCore ver2.0.0.101
    [ISRC]    Video:YUV420 Audio:Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)
    Audio is PCM 192000Hz recorded in stereo.
    Let me start by saying I have not had trouble with this before until I started recording the videos at 60 FPS.  30 FPS worked ok (some crashes here and there, but they were bearable), but the frequent crashes started happening when I started working with the 60 FPS videos, done mainly so I could play around with slowing the clips down, etc.
    Sometimes I can open and edit clips just fine.
    Recently, a project that I'm working on is crashing when I try putting two different clips from different files together on the time line.  I managed to get it to work once, and saved the project after that.  Then, PE crashed randomly and when trying to reopen the project, it just crashes and won't let me get any further.
    I should mention the graphics glitches as well - occasionally (especially when previewing video clips before adding them to the timeline) after I close the preview window, the graphics in PE will glitch out, causing random lines to appear in certain areas, graphics to stack on top of eachother and freeze up, and sometimes I can click on the "play" button in the main project window and hear everything start playing, but the graphics are completely screwed up to the point where I can't view the video or hit the pause button.
    All of my computer hardware is fine, all drivers, and PE, are up to date.
    Can someone please help me figure out what is going on?  I'll be happy to provide any more information that might help out.

    The most likely issue is the codec that your program is using the create your video. It's apparently not compatible with Premiere Elements.
    This often happens also when people try to record their on-screen video with FRAPS.
    You'll see lots of discussions on this issue in the Premiere Pro forum. However, it's even more pronounced in Premiere Elements, which is designed to work almost exclusively with camcorder video.
    Some video programs are a little more versatile with this type of video. Some people have found Corell's Video Studio better at handling these non-traditonal formats.
    But I did a Google search on Dxtory editing and couldn't find any information on it.
    Sorry I can't offer a solution. But I can pretty much assure you that Premiere Elements isn't it. sorry.
