I have read your post on how your video will not show picture, but the audio will work on your Windows 8.1 computer. Does the video appear and then disappear using media player software? Does this occur when streaming videos on YouTube? Did you perform Windows or HP updates before this issue occured? Does the entire screen go blank, turn a different color or just show blank on the video window you are attempting to view? I would be happy to help you, but first I would encourage you to post your product number for your computer. Video will not show in the preview window

I am using iMovie 08 and have some video that I pulled into iMovie using my iSight. Whenever I am trying to preview my movie it will not show in the preview window. I did a software update for iMovie and the issue is still happening. Any ideas??

Although the same not preview-able iMovie event played perfectly fine when transferred to a different mac running perian and divx, disabling Perian solved the issue on my macbook, too!

When I pull up my Pinterest website, it will not display pictures, only some words. It's like the links are broken.

When I pull up Pinterest, the pictures on my boards will not show up. It just has some words. It said it may be because my browser was not updated. I was using Internet Explorer and I tried updating to Windows Microsoft 8. That did not solve the problem. I then installed Firefox as my browser but the pictures still do not come up. It did not give me that error message though that my browser was out of date. What do I need to do to make Pinterest work correctly and show images and video clips that are on my boards and on the site in general?

I had this problem. I solved it by disabling the Avast Online Security Extension 9.0.2006.53 updated Dec. 11, 2013.

IMovie will not show images or sound from my DV and behaves strangely

I am using a panasonic pv-gs50d, and am coonecting via a firewire cable. While iMovie indicates the camera is connected and states when it is playing, pausing etc. it will not show any images or play any sound on the iMovie screen. Further the actual program itself behaves very erratically, when I scroll over the start, stop etc. buttons, they dissappear and reappear, and the preferences option cannot be started. Does anyone know what this probelm is. The camera works fine on my powerbook which is using iMovie 4. Thanks

So I was searching though the discussions and I came across a post about opening garage band, playing a few notes and then going back to iMove. I tried it and it now works fine.

After downloading ios 7, my iphone 4 will sync but my music will not show up only itunes purchases will show up and be the only ones playing. the rest have a little red square next to them

Ive been having this problem ever since i upgraded to ios 7. I went to put new music on my iphone, and i synced my phone went to listen to my music and it either has a cloud next to it, a red square, or is there but clear and will not play. Seems that purchases from itunes are the only music that actually work. When i put my phone on shuffle, it continues to shuffle through my music until it finds a song that will actually play, which ends up being one of the purchased songs. I have a total of about 1300 songs, about 600 purchases and the rest just dont work. Please help me find what is wrong with this because it has been weeks and im going insane and really debating on switching over to a different phone brand like the new blackberry or s4, im done with apples ****.

Update - I found the iphoto cache deleted it. This did not work.... it still cannot find the photos. I then placed all the photos on my desktop and synced my phone to the folder. It found ALL the pictures on my desktop folder. I would still prefer to find a fix, so I can sync my photos to iPhoto....

Podcasts and videos will not show.

My itunes won't play my podcasts, videos or movies. There is sound, but the visual is just flashing pink and green colours. I've re-installed the latest itunes, but to no avail. Is there a separate download I can get to update just the video player? Or is there another way to fix this?

The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. Mac Pro DVD player not showing picture, only audio

When playing a DVD, my DVD player on Mac Book Pro does not show the picture, you only hear the audio. Any ideas?

This started yesterday for me too--audio works fine, but picture is gone. I tried 4 different DVDs to be sure, and all of them have no picture. The screen is completely black. I guess it's time to go to the Genius Bar...

FF will not show pictures in Ebay and Amazon BUT OK in IE8

I have winXP pro on 3 machines all the same problem.
I can have the same window open in both programmes.
IE8 / IE7 shows pictures
FF4 says pictures not available

You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
* Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
* Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
* Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
* Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
* Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
* If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block images.

Will not show web page on windows high contrast

Hi,
Am running Windows 7 64bit
my problem is as follows.
I normally run Windows in high contrast mode and would prefer all web sites to be on the dark side.
Occasionally I need to be able to see a web page as its designers intended it to be.
So I want to have the text white and background black and then the ability to toggle between that and the web page's own colour scheme.
Thought I'd found exactly what I needed in the add-on "Toggle Document Colors 1.0"
Am presuming it toggles the status of the "Allow pages to choose their own colours..." tick box.
This setting seems to get lost when FF closes. Even if I set the tick box myself and then close FF it is gone when I reopen FF.
If the box is ticked and a page refreshed it still does not show web page colours ?
Without any addons at all after a reset and only using the colours dialog I cannot get it to behave.
If you start in Windows white mode (normal) things are better even after FF close. Change to Windows black mode (high contrast) things start off ok then after you close FF it will not work
If there is a solution I would love to know it.
Will settle for a workaround.
Considered using old version of FF, but this is not really a good idea.
Really don't want to go back to IE

iTunes does not yet support Windows 8, so there may not be a fix until such time as Apple releases a version of iTunes that does support 8. You can search this forum for "windows 8", though, and perhaps you'll find a suggestion in one of the other threads on the issue.

Macs will not show up on DNS Windows Server 2008 R2

In our office, we have a Windows Server Infrastructure with several Macs (Imacs, mac pros, macbook airs etc).
Active Directory and DNS is running off a Windows Server 2008 R2 Server, with DHCP on a Cisco Router.
DHCP is configured to direct all DNS entries to the Windows DNS Server.
The problem that I'm having is that, while all windows machines show up on the Windows DNS Server, None of the Macs are registered. Macs are able to utilize the DNS Server correctly, but will not register on the DNS Listings.
Because I cannot access or ping Macs via their hostname, I cannot tell our third party backup software to point to a particular machine. Our workstations are all DHCP enabled, and since assigning a static ip to all the Macs here is not an option, I need to get this working, so that I can get our macs backing up.
I've followed a few similar articles, but they appear to be for older 2003 servers, which the 2008 R2 servers do not have those options. I do not want to join the Macs onto the windows domain, I merely want to get them registered on our DNS server.

I'm pretty sure that the DNS registration stuff is part of the Active Directory plug-in on OS X. I'd recommend you give it a try.
GPOs are not enforced on the Macs if they're bound to Active Directory, _unless_ you've extended the Active Directory schema (which is a lot of work). The main benefits to joining Macs to AD ar:
* Centralized password management and policies (as you've defined in AD).
* Single sign-on to various kerberized resources (i.e. Windows share points and internal web pages if you're using IIS and you use Kerberos to secure them, rather than NTLM).
Here's an Apple white paper which may help. I would recommend you read this carefully and then decide whether or not you want to bind the Macs to AD. I'd also recommend you test with a bound Mac to see if resolves this "host name in DNS" issue... I suspect it will.

Iphone will not show in itunes on windows 8

I installed windows 8 operating system and itunes works, however, my iphone will not appear in itunes. How do we fix this?

BB will not show up as in windows explorer it also will not sync music

I just upgraded from a BB bold to a Z10 and I am having issues with syncing my music. When I use BB link it says it is prepairing to sync but it never does. It also keeps trying to do an upgrade even after i do the upgrade it keeps trying.
Also do not see my Z10 on windows explorer.
I have unistalled link atleast 6 times with no luck.
I am using windows 8 if that helps.

Videos Will Not Load - 'HTTPS:' only valid workaround on certain sites

Windows 7, 32-bit
Firefox 12, 32-bit
Flash Player Version 11.2.202.235
I'm unable to load videos from many sites right now, and I've done everything else I can possibly think to do except ask for help here. The problem started spontaneously. Nothing seems to have been added to cause this, as it literally happened overnight (possibly during the day, as I have the recollection of running into error messages suddenly, and them never stopping), and even if it had, a system restore should have resolved the issue. It didn't. I've tried all of the following, none of which helped:
-System Restored to Well Before the problem occured.
-Uninstalled Firefox.
-Upgraded to latest version of Firefox.
-All add-ons disabled.
-Uninstalled Flash Player
-Upgraded to most recent version of Flash Player.
-Drivers are up to date.
-Ran through all of Adobe's Troubleshooting options.
There shouldn't be any issue with an ad-blocker, as I don't believe I have one, and even if I did, for it to work perfectly one minute, then stop the next is absurd. Nothing changed with my PC-Cillin virus scanner. I even disabled internet protection completely, yet it changed nothing.
PROBLEM MANIFESTATIONS:
Youtube:
HTTPS Server: Plays all videos & components just fine.
Regular Server:
If an ad preceedes it, the ad never loads, and the skip button can never be pressed.
Can play videos without an ad preceeding it, but cannot load Closed Captions or Annotations (which has a symbol next to the button).
Despite never loading the ad, it lists the file's name, and clicking on it will take me to the ad's own youtube link, which plays fine. That also tells me Youtube's ads are on-site, so where's the breakdown occuring in getting an ad to load?
ORIGINALLY, when this manifested weeks back, Youtube spat out an "Error Loading Video. Please try again later." message. That stopped after about 2 weeks, now it gets to the point where it realizes it needs to load an Ad, but won't.
IGN.com:
HTTPS Server: Plays videos fine.
Regular Server: Perpetual loading ring.
*: Some other sites never load the video or stream at all, even on a Secure Server. The video container is completely empty (Whereas on Youtube it realizes it needs to load an ad, but doesn't).
I'd like to fix this instead of having to switch browsers, but what am I to do? Nobody's been able to offer a solution, and everything I've tried has failed. I see no legitimate cause for this either. What Flash Player problem could survive a system restore and reinstallation of my browser and flash player?

Since Chrome is working, then there's something going wrong with your IE and Firefox installs of Flash Player. Could you tell me what files you have in the C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash folder?

In youtube the youtube site the video screen remain black (video does not play picture or sound)

When I go to youtube.com and try to play a video the screen remains black. Neither video nor sound. It used to be ok until sometime ago. I don't know what caused it to stop functioning. On my other computer it is ok.

Two things to try:
update the plugin to 10.1.85.3 as well
disable hardware acceleration (Flash Player Settings)

Yahoo.ca homepage will not show images, only red blocks, Firefox 4

I had to reformat my hard drive because of a bad virus, and everything worked properly before that. The OS is Windows XP Pro SP3, fully updated. I updated to Firefox 4. My sympatico.ca home page is working great, but when I go to the yahoo.ca home page, there are red blocks instead of images. I dumped 4, went back 3.6 and it worked for a few days, then went back to red images. Subsequent gradual updates to 4, haven't resolved the problem. I've gone through everything I can find, in help and troubleshooting, checked page info, options, uninstalling and re-installing Firefox, with the same result. Installed the latest versions of Flash Player and Shock Wave. I'm at my wits end, and can't figure out what I'm missing. The same problem exists if I use Internet Explorer 8, which I really don't like to use. I haven't used Netscape for many years.
This is totally frustrating, and I really need some wise help.
Can anyone please, give me some answers and genuine direction to fix this issue.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I didn't see any solution to my issue. I did detail in my original question post what my OS is, and all other info about my system. I have changed nothing that was on my PC before this issue happened. I have the same PC security package, antivirus software etc, provided by Bell Canada, that I have used successfully for years, and didn't have this issue previous to having to reformat the hard drive. I did go into the ad blocker program, but the only thing I can do is change the color of the blocked image.
I've been building my own PC's for about twenty years, and normally can fix most issues that arise. I've also been using Yahoo mail for a long time, and was always able to see the images, except for the last couple of weeks since the reformat. I can live with not seeing the images, but it's frustrating not to be able to resolve the issue.
If you can help great, and if you need any other info, please let me know.
