My video won't "Render and Replace" in Premiere Pro from linked footage in After Effects

I am using Premiere Pro CC 2014 and After Effects CC 2014.  I can't get the video to "Render and Replace" in Premiere Pro after editing the original in After Effects.  It just freezes on "Analyzing."
In order to see the footage in real time  I have to export it to an mp4 then replace the linked footage.  The footage is 18 minutes long and it takes more than 5 hours to export it.  After I edit the exported version, I have to export it again, which is another 5 hours.  This is taking a really long time.  I would rather edit the "Rendered" version What am I doing wrong?
Russell

is this just a single clip, or you have the entire 18min loaded in AE as comp? does this happen with new projects and all footage or just some? can you render and replace regular clips that aren't AE comps?  if its just a few clips of the 18min project, can you render previews in premiere?    if its just a few clips, could also render them out in AE and swap them out in premiere instead of using render and replace...   or maybe temporarily disable the ae effects/layers while editing in premiere and then turn them back on when ready to export final render.

  • Red video glitch at render and export in Premiere Pro CS6.

I keep on experiencing red screen glitches in my videos while viewing after render and when exported into any format. After replacing the clip with another, the same problem appears at the exact same time as before. The only way to get rid of the glitch is to build a completely new project. I have attached a picture of the glitch (the JPEG is green for some reason).
    Any solutions?

    Thank you for fast answer.
    my version is  6.0.5.  ( 001 (MC: 264587))
i use more kinds of cameras, but each provide different video file type.
this problem is with  HC-V700 Panasonic, which is creating the AVCHD files.
i am talking about working video window, where you see the movie you cut and edit! (not the green/blue/red bar in timeline)
(after finishing the rendering, sometimes without it), and in case when i see it red, it is exported as well as RED screen .
and - on the other side : i can play such movie file, by double clicking on it, (from project files list, or from timeline ) where new window appears for playing that file.

  • Where did "Render and Replace" in Premiere Elements 13 go?

    Hi,
I read in a post from 2008 that said an easy way to export a .WAV file from a single Clip so that you could edit it in another program could be done using "Render and Replace".  They suggested:  Clip -> Audio Options -> Render and Replace.  But my only option in that menu is "Audio Gain...".
This is incredibly frustrating.  I sincerely hope I didn't waste my money on a purposely crippled version of Elements that took features away from older versions of the same software.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for the reply.
I think that I have good news for you.
From what you wrote, you have a clip on the Timeline with video and audio components. For the moment we will assume that you have just
    that clip on the Timeline.
Go to Publish+Share/Computer/Audio and set Presets = Windows Waveform. That will export just the audio as a .wav file to the computer
hard drive space of your choice. You can re-import the .wav version into your project with the program's Add Media/Files and Folders.
If you had a bunch of clips on the Timeline and wanted to get a wav version of the audio from a particular file....the position the gray tabs of
the Work Area Bar to span just the area of that particular clip and then Publish+Share/Computer/Audio with Presets = Windows Waveform
BUT you need a check mark next to "Share Work Area Bar Only" in the export settings.
Supplemental information if you have a Timeline with more than one clip on it....
Work Area Bar Gray Tab Placement
Shortcuts are the easiest way to place those gray tabs to span the area of the segment for export.
Move the Timeline Indicator to the start of the segment and, as you hold down the Alt key of the computer
main keyboard, press the left bracket key [    Move the Timeline Indicator to the end of the segment and, as
you hold down the Alt key of the computer main keyboard, press the right bracket key ]
And do not forget the other requirement for this situation with more than one clip on the Timeline....in the
export area, check mark next to Share Work Area Bar Only.
Please give it a try and let us know the results when you have time.
    Thanks.

  • Computer Freezes during Playback, Render and Scrubbing in Premiere Pro CS5.5

    CPU - Intel i7 980 3.33GHz
    RAM - 12GB (6 x 2GB) Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600
    PSU - 850watt Corsair
Graphics Card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570
C: Drive - 600GB Velociraptor (with only program files stored on the drive)
OS - Windows Ultimate 7, 64-bit, Service Pack 1 (up to date)
Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium (with all updates)
My problem occurs only in Premiere Pro CS5.5 and not with any other Adobe programs, including After Effects.  Playback, scrubbing, or rendering in my Premiere Pro timeline causes the computer to freeze.  When it freezes I cannot move the mouse, I cannot use the keyboard, there is no automatic shutdown, and there is no BSOD.  The computer just freezes, forever, and needs to be shutdown manually.
This problem began a few weeks ago, only happening occassionaly.  Recently the problem has escalated to the point that I cannot use Premiere Pro CS5.5 for more than 30 seconds before it freezes.
I have several different Premiere Pro projects saved to a 1TB WD Black Caviar HDD.  In some of the projects I am using Cineform converted .mov files and in others I am using the raw(compressed) footage directly from a Canon DSLR.  This dedicated harddrive has 60% free space.
Mercury PLayback Acceleration is enabled, and I have been successfully using Premiere and the rest of the creative suite intensively since October 2011 with absolutely NO problems.  I cannot remember the system ever crashing once during this time period, until now, which is remarkable.  All software on my computer is legitimate, and there are no third party codecs installed.
What can I do to fix this problem?  All help is extremely appreciated.  THANK-YOU!
    Drew Norton

Thank you, Harm I will do this.  In response to the video card being a possible cause of the problem,  I moved forward and downloaded Furmark to test it.  When running Furmark the program crashes.  It gets going on the test and crashes, and apparently according to other websites this means my graphics card is not running at capacity.  Do any of you have experience with this?
If it is as clean cut as a busted graphics card I would be very excited to know.

  • Render and Replace doesn't open Soundbooth

Mac / PP CS4 (production  premium)
Hi, I have a clip in the timeline and I'm right-clicking, choosing Edit in Adobe Soundbooth > Render and Replace but nothing happens.... Soundbooth doesn't open (at all) with the clip to edit. Any suggestion appreciated!
    Thanks
    -Scott

    Thanks for the input...
I tried Edit Orginal (video and audio .mov file) on the file in the bin...
that opens Quicktime Player. I went into Sys Prefs, QT, and tried changing
    file associations, etc.
This file I'm trying this with was recorded using OnLocation as a QT . mov
file.  That's the one association I can't disable in QT which may be why
I can't open SB but not sure since nothing opens (including QT) when
    trying Render and Replace
When I try Edit in Soundbooth/Extract Audio on the file in the bin, that
works as expected, creating the extracted audio files, seen in the PP bin,
and then SB opens with both files ready to be worked on.
    Thanks,
    -Scott

  • "Render and replace" now converts to .mov, not audio wav files like before

In previous versions, the "render and replace" functionality allowed you to quickly extract audio from clips and turn them into audio files. Now in CC 2014 the audio gets replaced with another movie file with no video track. This is useless when trying to convert audio clips to .wav format for editing in 3rd party audio apps, which is what made it so great in the first place. Additionally this breaks functionality with PluralEyes, which required that you rendered and replaced segmented video clips like those from the C300. Now PluralEyes rejects the created .mov files with an "unsupported format" error.
Why was this changed? How do I change it back?

I too am now dipping my toes into Premiere Pro CC 2014 and just ran into this as well. Jeez!!!! Using Pluraleyes like you and just need to convert the audio portions to .mov audio. Now what????? I thought there might be 'presets' that were downloadable but I can't easily locate any. Why does Adobe do these things?

Anyone know which render format I should use, my film will be used on a video wall (12 screens) and I need super quality. My footage format is 1080p HD resolution 1920x1080. I will be running the project from a mac with a direct line to video wall. Thanks in advance.

I do some VJ-type work, involving playback of QuickTime files from the computer to projections, and I get good results using ProRes 422. That's convenient, because ProRes 422 is such a great editing codec, too.
Traditionally, VJs use PhotoJPEG codec, which also works well, but it's a bad editing codec. So you would have to export an edited master, then convert.
If you want it to look as good as possible, definitely schedule some time to test the footage on the wall. You may want to change the color correction of your footage to match the projectors. And if you feed the video wall some flat gray, you can see if any of the projectors need to be  adjusted.
I'm not sure what application you're using for playback, but QuickTime Player 7 works well. It has an option to play fullscreen on an external monitor (View > Present Movie…).

  • Render and Replace Audio

I've got a whole stack of individual audio clips all on the same audio line/channel on the timeline which I now need to - Clip > Audio Options > Render And Replace. Can I apply render and replace to all the audio clips on the specific audio line at the one time. This would save me some time. I only need assistance, if you want to dribble on or bless me with a superior complex, save yourself the time and go write on some one else's thread.

    D'oh,
Figured it myself! 5 minutes later - To select multiple clips by clicking, use the Selection tool and Shift‑click each clip you want to select. Then it's Clip > Audio Options > Render And Replace.

  • Render and Replace Different Format In Same Sequence

Is there any way to keep the Interpret Footage settings after make Render and Replace option?
I have a sequence setting in 1080 50p with two different formats  50p 720 (interpret in 25p) / 1080 25p, I did a render and replace of the total. And the result was that the rendered footage doesn´t  respect me the interpret settings.
    Thanks.

Render and Replace is currently designed to transcode the clip and keep the Interpret Footage settings applied to the clip (not burned/rendered in). There is a feature request to burn/render in Interpret Footage (and other effects) to the transcoded clip.
Not ideal, but a possible workaround would be to export the clips with "Import into project" selected in Export Settings, then Replace with Clip to get your desired outcome.

  • From Premiere - Render and Replace ??

I use Soundbooth to modify my audio track from the timeline. When I'm in Soundbooth I save and return to AP but I can not here the change. Is there something I am doing wrong ? ?

is this just a single clip, or you have the entire 18min loaded in AE as comp? does this happen with new projects and all footage or just some? can you render and replace regular clips that aren't AE comps?  if its just a few clips of the 18min project, can you render previews in premiere?    if its just a few clips, could also render them out in AE and swap them out in premiere instead of using render and replace...   or maybe temporarily disable the ae effects/layers while editing in premiere and then turn them back on when ready to export final render.

My mac won't read my external harddrive's videos that I took with my Nikon.  Half the videos won't play, and those are .avi files.  WHY won't they play anymore and how can i retrieve them?

What exactly is your problem? Is it, (a) your Mac doesn't read your external disk, or, (b) you can't retrieve your videos, or, (c) you can't play them, or, (d) you were able to play them at one point, but not any more.
What version of Mac OS X are you using, what app are you trying to play your videos with, what happens when you do, and what error messages, if any, do you get?

Quite right, but as the OP does not have component or composite connections not important.
To the OP, this does work, but is not the cheapest, and as it appears that Apple no longer sell an SVideo adaptor cable 3rd party it will have to be.

  • Importing a video layer from photoshop cs5 to after effects cs5

hi - you guys were so brilliant and prompt on answering my last question. thankyou
i did have another i needed help with -
is it possible to bring in a video layer from photoshop cs5 to after effects cs5 - i tried but it said "the photoshop library operation failed because the file is not compatible with this version of photoshop"
    thanks again

In the import dialog box, uncheck the Photoshop Sequence option.
The problem is the number on the end of your file name.  When After Effects sees a number there, and there are other files in that directory with the same name and a number, it thinks the images are part of a sequence and will enable that checkbox.

  • Project Bloating and Repair in Premiere Pro CS6; Max Project File Size? Adobe Coders Welcome...

    Greetings.
After a few browsing sessions, I haven't found direction for a specific problem within a project bloat. First and foremost; we're always backed up. I have a restoration copy of the project that I will reference herein. Check that off the list.
Numerous people have posted here and around Creative Cow with problems regarding an expanding file size using CS6; watching files go from 300mb to 2.8gb. The unfortunate problem is when the project crosses a magical line that results in an inablity to open, import, export, or access sequences contained therein. Has anyone addressed a solution to repairing Premiere CS6 save files? Reducing file bloat? I haven't seen anything (recall the FCP7 repair days... solutions existed because problems were frequent; thankfully not so bad with Adobe).
Does anyone inside the code size know the maximum project file size that Premiere can read? I created a monster... Over 200 sequences utilizing 4.5TB of footage, stretching from Red codecs to EXCam to MPEG4 and H264. And for some time, the project size was manageable. Then, it inflated. And one day, randomly stopped opening. None of the auto-saves open.
Just curious. Files aren't the problem, but the 2.8GB save file is. Machine specs // etc. are openly available if required; no bad ram, no problems with all projects (just this one beast).
    Cheers,
    Jon Michael Ryan
