Use the camera button in the reply toolbar to add a screenshot.
I tried you site with Firefox 7.0.1 and the movie page was the same as in Safari.  The problem must be at your end.  Delete the Firefox preference file and try your site again.

In that case, there may be a problem with your Finder preferences or window settings.
Try removing these files, then restarting:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
    ~/Desktop/.DS_Store
Let me know if you're not sure how to do that.

  • Columns in Finder windows won't stay where I put them!

WHen I open a finder window, put in LIST VIEW, then re-size my columns - everything is good now I can do stuff. BUT WAIT! I do one thing: dragging one folder and nesting it into another and BAM! The columns re-size back to the default. This is a deal-killer for me. I cannot work like this! If there is no fix, SOrry, but goodbye apple and hello Windows.

Open window is a folder named "Photos".
It contains many sub folders: Backyard photos, front yard photos, vacation photos, etc.
It also contains a ton of image files - that I'm sorting into their respective folders.
When I drag an image file titled "Backyard sunny" into the sub-folder "Backyard photos"... the columns all snap back to their default settings. FORCING ME TO RESIZE THEM.... then I drag another photo into another folder and the same thing happens again. THIS IS A SHUTDOWN OF MY USING MAC OS. I either need to return to Mavericks, or this needs to be fixed somehow. This never happened before, and it won't happen in the future, not on my desktop. I'd hate to start asking my wife to start teaching me windows. I've been a mac person my whole computing life (since the early 1990's) and never have I run into a show-stopper like this.
My computer is NON-FUNCTIONAL if the columns won't stay where I put them!

  • How can I stop Lion tidying my desktop and putting all my icons in alphabetical order. I like my files to stay where I put them!

How can I stop Lion tidying my desktop and putting all my icons in alphabetical order. I like my files to stay where I put them! Every morning I boot up and all my desktop items have been moved. How can I stop this?
By the way - Lion is the worst 'upgrade' ever.

    Hello again:
I've been to 'view' - and all I can see are the same options as before. Nothing which says the equivalent of 'stop Lion tidying my desktop alphabetically every time I boot up' - alas.
    Hmmm.  Try something:
Trash a preference file (com.apple.finder.plist) and restart.  Then go to the view option while in Finder.  There should be a "show view options."  Select that and sort by "none."
FWIW, I have had no discernable change in speed under OS X 10.7, but that is just my system.  I only use Adobe's free stuff.  Have you checked with Adobe to see if there are updates available?  I rarely use text edit so I have no benchmark.  I don't like the missing save as either

P.S.  I am not being contrary - I just like to learn from the experiences of others.

  • CS 6 Image Windows Don't Stay Where I Put Them

I installed CS 6 yesterday.  My system runs 64 bit Win 7.  In Preferences > Interface, as I did in CS 5, I unchecked both Open Documents as Tabs and Enable Floating Document Window.  However, unlike CS 5, in CS 6 images 'insist' on positioning themselves in the upper left corner of CS 6 and will cover both the options bar and the tool bar.  For example, this will happen after opening an image if I try to move it or if I enlarge the image window (CTRL-0).  If I open two images and try to move one so I can see both at the same time, the one I try to move will not stay where I put it but instead will reposition itself to the upper left, and cover the options bar and menu bar.
As you might image, this makes working in CS 6 difficult and inconvenient.  I assume this is a bug, and wonder if there are any workarounds or other solutions.  To this point, I have not yet uninstalled and re-installed CS 6.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Best regards,
    David

Can we assume you hate the Auto-Hide feature even worse?
    Hi,
The answer to your question is 'probably'.  I like things to stay put, ideally where I want them.  So far my feeling is that having the task bar on the bottom is the lesser of the two 'evils'.  But your note reminds me to give auto-hide another try.  Thanks.

  • Clips won't stay where I put them!

I am building an informational video with some animated sequences and I am recording my voice over the video. At times, I want to edit/replace clips that occur early in the timeline with new clips without disturbing the positions of clips to the right on the timeline. As I begin to add, remove or change earlier clips, all the other clips to the right will shift back and forth becoming unsynced with the audio and ruin a lot of hard work.

    Hi HB
Yes thats the way it works. If You exchange a clip You have to replace it with
one with exactly the same no: of min.sec.frames or everything goes bananas.
If You need to work in that order You probably should take a look at FinalCut
Express or Pro - and consider the cost.
In FCE/P You can place video and sound to a specific time place in Your project.
In iMovie this is really hard and disipline demanding.
Locking video to time isn't something existing in iMovie yet - may be never.

  • Why icons don't stay where I put them?

I always liked to display the icons neatly in a given order on the iMac volume main page. Recently when I restart the computer the icons become messed up and on top of each other. Does anyone know why this happens?
Thanks in advance for any explanation.
    Frank

Mundane problems are what we're here for.... the exotic ones are few and far between. It may have happened because of some corruption in your preferences, try running Preferential Treatment to track down any bad .plists.

  • Desktop icons disappear. won't stay where i drop them, and disappear if i try to put them in a folder.

Recently noticed several icons on my desktop had disappeared.... found them in applications and documents folder, but they should be living on my desktop and I didn't move them. This keeps happening... I wake up my computer, quite randomly it seems, a file will have disappeared.
At the same time I noticed several files on my desktop had moved themselves all the way to the top of the screen, just the very bottom lip of the file names were visible. Clean Up had no effect on these files.
On top of that, no icon will stay where I drop it. I can pick up and drag the icon, but as soon as I drop it, it flies to some random spot on the screen.
Finally, i can move a desktop file inside any folder. if I try it the file just disappears.
I'm assuming all these problems are related and I'm hoping someone has a suggestion of what I can do to correct it. thanks.

Click on the desktop and check Finder > View > Show view options.
Sort by.. snap to grid will have the files flying around..
Disappearing files in folders no idea except I have always been advised not too have too many items in the desktop folder.. (The desktop is actually a folder, see finder)

  • Aperture. I have so many pictures and not sure where to put them now that my MacBook Pro is filled?

I have so many pictures on my Mac book pro on aperture that I can not put anymore on.  If I put them on a hard drive h
Then how do I access them like a library?

Aperture allows you to store your Images' Originals on any directly connected drive (must be formatted "Mac OS Extended, Journaled"), and gives you the option and the ability to move your Originals any time you want.
So get an external drive, format it correctly, select the Images whose Originals you want to move to that external drive, and move them using the command "File➞Relocate Originals".
An Image's Original must be on-line in order for you to be able to make adjustments, export, or print that Image.  When the Original is off-line, you are still able to change the metadata, and view and share the Image's Preview.
If you are uncertain about the parts of Aperture, my User Tip is as good a place to start as I know .
Here is the topic as covered in the well-done Users Manual.  Note that the User Manual uses the terms "Master" and "Original" synonymously, and that it confuses users by refering to referenced and managed _Images_.  Image's are not, themselves, referenced or managed.  The Original of each Image is a file (the one you imported); that file is the item that is either referenced or managed.
What Are Managed Images and Referenced Images?

  • ITunes won't stay where I put it

Normally I run iTunes in "minimized" mode (press the "+" button) and toss it all the way at the bottom left of my screen. It fits nicely right next to the dock so I always have it visible in a usually useless area of the screen.
In the past, it would occasionally jump vertically to be above the dock, typically if I opened other "iApps" or used a full screen game, but it would stay close to where I left it and I'd just need to drag it back down. Pressing the "+" button would have it end up where it belonged or just vertical of that spot.
Recently, the last 4-5 days or so, iTunes has decided it doesn't like that corner and more often than not "minimizes" to the exact center of the screen.
There's no pattern to it, just sometimes it stays where it belongs, other times it's right in the center.

My iTunes (8.0.2) recently started centering itself whenever I tried to move or resize it. Quitting and restarting the program seems to have fixed it for now.

  • HELP! Dont know where to put downloaded IOS 4.1 in computer files

    Hey all,
my iphone 3gs died this morning and im trying to restore it, ended up downloading the lastest IOS as a stand alone file, just wondering where to put it, ive been told Windows Vista: "\Users[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates" is the place, but the 'AppData' part of that address doesnt exsist on my computer. I have windows vista aswell thanks

Ok, you sounds like you are checking for iTunes updates, not iPhone updates
What did you save in the folder earlier? Was it something like this? "iPhone2,14.1_8B117Restore.ipsw"
    If not delete it.
Open iTunes and the connect your iphone.
On the left part of the screen, you will see Devices - "your" iPhone
    Click on that
In the summary screen, you will see a button "Check for Updates"
If you don't have the latest version in the folder discussed earlier, it will want to download a new one.
Select the Download only selection, not the download and Restore selection.
The new file will be downloaded.
Let me know when you have got this far.

  • I like my windows to stay where I leave them on other desktops when I restart. is there a way to do so?

I have two monitors. I use one monitor to view on application and the other one a second application. Whenever I restart, the ones assigned to the secondary monitor open in the main monitor. Is there a way to get Mavericks to remember windows where I have left them?
    Thanks!

I just came across a solution.  I think this might work for you, even though it seems kludgy:
Your situation may vary, but I'm using a MacBook Pro with an external LCD monitor and want to use both displays, each with their own desktop space
Open Mission Control and add a desktop by moving your cursor to the top right of your display and clicking on the new window that appears from the right
You should now have 3 desktops at the top of your display when Mission Control is open
In my case, my laptop's display is Desktop 1 and my external display is Desktop 3
Now, on the dock, right click on an app you're trying to stick to a particular desktop and choose Options -> Assign to Desktop X where X is the display you want the app to stay on
In my case, I want Mail to always show up on my laptop screen, which is Desktop 1, so I choose Options -> Assign to Desktop 1.  The reason I say this is kludgy is because I never use Desktop 2, but it has to exist in order for the Dock -> Options -> Assign To menu to appear.  If I just have Desktop 1 and Desktop 2, that option does not exist when I right click on an app in the dock.

  • Keep custom settings where I put them

On the page where you can check the box "normal" or "custom".  I would like to click on normal and have it on certain settings or click on custom and have it be on different settings.  Right now, I click on custom and I have to go in and change the settings manually - they are set like my normal settings.  What is the purpose of having those boxes to check if they won't stay that way.
    I have a hp photosmart 6520.
    Thanks you.

    Hi PattiChati,
I understand that you would like to set up your settings so they are the default settings. I will try my best to help you get this done. To change the HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One series; HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 6525 e-All-in-One series - Change D... follow the steps in this document. Once you change the defaults then that will be the settings used when you print unless you change them in custom.
I hope this helps, let me know.
    Thank you,
I worked on behalf of HP.

  • Unix domain sockets: How to name them? And where to put them?

I am using unix sockets for inter-process communication in a C++/gtkmm project.
Are there naming conventions and conventions about where to place sockets in the filesystem? In all example code I found, dummies like /home/user/mysocket were being used.
If there are not any conventions: Would it be sensible to put the sockets in /tmp/ and compose the names of the name of the program which uses the concerning socket, and its PID? (The latter also depends on my use case, of course; from that point of view, it seems sensible.)

@Franek:  KDE applications place their sockets (through KDE API, of course) in "/tmp/ksocket-foo/bar__0", where "foo" is the user name, "bar" the application name and "0" an increasing counter (in case an application creates more than one socket).  Emacs places its server socket in a similar manner "/tmp/emacs1000/server", where "1000" is the UID.
I'd use emacs' name scheme, e.g. "/tmp/bar1000/what_the_socket_is_for", where "bar" is the application name again.
However, do not place sockets directly in "/tmp/". For one thing, it just clutters this global directory, but more importantly it's unsafe, as every other user can inspect these sockets.  Create a directory within "/tmp/" and restrict its access rights to the owner (mode 700).  Thus other users can't inspect the sockets within that directory.  Of course, the access rights of the sockets themselves must also be limited.
