My videos keep lagging when imported to Motion 5, Impossible to edit on!

When I import a video to motion 5 from my GoPro Hero 3 it laggs and has the spinning beach ball for about 5 secs then goes! The software keeps crashing and freezing. But when im testing out the intros that come with motion works fine! But it only laggs when I upload my own video. Can anyone please help? Thanks

Try transcoding a clip to Pro Res and see whether your playback performance improves.

I got the same problem. I tried to import into Flash cs3, cs4, cs5 - constant error in each application.
But seems I've found the reason why this happened in my case.
I just deleted the installed system video codecs (divx, xvid, third-party codecs).
I do not see a direct connection with the import objects into flash. But fact, immediately after the removal of codecs it has to work.
I suspect that the reason could be a third-party codec that is associated with playing QuickTime. Maybe.
Also if it does not help you this way, I used a temporary solution.
Open the psd in Adobe Ilustrator, copy images to clipboard, paste it into flash.
In my case the images are not displayed on the screen after insert, but put into the library.
Don't touch objects, just save the file, close the Flash.
Launch Flash and open saved file. In my case in the first run was an error.
Close the application and open it with file again.
The second time the error was not followed, the images were within the document 8-)
This option made it possible to work until the issue is not solved completely (adobe, wake up!).
    win7 64, cs5 (cs3, cs4 had the same issue)
Perhaps it can be useful for someone.
    thx
    Sorry for my English.

  • Video Squished Vertically When Imported.

    Howdy!
This is my first go with iMovie, and I've noticed that my videos are squished when imported into iMovie.
The original .dv file is 648x480 (4:3) with letter boxing built into the vid. When I import into iMovie 4:3 it appears to be squishing it vertically.
You can see what I mean here:
    http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/115943/Picture%201.png
Changing the project to 16:9 makes the issue worse.
What can I do to make sure the video doesn't get squished?
    Thanks in advance!

I'm going to have to test this out, because I've wondered how iMovie '09 would deal with DV. I think it has something to do with unsquare pixels (DV uses them, Apple Intermediate Codec—which iMovie '09 "converts" clips to sometimes—uses square pixels.
Perhaps if you edit the video as-is, looking that way (squashed down), and export it with custom settings within Quicktime (not just using iMovie's default export feature) that you can squish it back into shape? As long as all the clips are consistently squished or squashed, then I think it might work . . . we'll have to see.

  • I have made an imovie on my ipad and for some reason the final edit will not keep. When I open the actual projct to edit, it is the way I want it, but when I look at the actual movie

I have made an imovie on my ipad and for some reason the final edit will not keep. When I open the actual projct to edit, it is the way I want it, but when I look at the actual movie and what loads up to youtube is the version prior to this final fix. I have tried fixing it at least twenty times. The open to edit version has the video the way I want but when I upload it to youtube, its not the version I want to show.

Well, assuming all of the above, Notifications, etc., it just might be time for a visit to the Apple tore genius center for a session with the techs.  See if it is a fault in the hardware or just an iOS reinstall is the answer.
One more thing you could try, backup so you have a record of content, then restore to factory conditions be an Erase All Contents and Settings.  Then restore from the backup you just made.  That has helped some with WiFi problems, may be it would work with your problems.
But with that behavior of another app with problems, the geniuses looks like a less stressful thing to do.

  • Why is my 60i video pixelated/choppy when imported into Final Cut Pro X?

I just bought a brand new Nikon D5200 to get into some indie film making. I put together a quick short the night I got it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN8OAprluOI) and filmed in 1080p at 24fps. It turned out great, footage looked great, was ready to test out the 1080 60i they put on it. Again, the footage looked great but only on the camera this time...Every time I go to import it into FCP X it comes up pixelated and choppy but if I'm just watching it in Quicktime its smooth and looks fantastic. Is there anything I can do to get my 60i footage imported into FCP X and stay true to the quality? The codec it's importing on is
h.264 and when it gets into FCP X it switches over to it's true nature of 29.97i so i just don't know what the problem can be!!
    HELP PLEASE!!!!
    Thanks in advance!

    Hey Zach.
How did your progressive footage wind up in an interlaced video? (Who is "they"?)
Typically, one wants to edit as close as possible to what was shot. The cases where progressive needs to be converted to interlaced would typically be where one needed to match delivery requirements in broadcast. The conversion to interlaced is almost certainly going to introduce "issues".

  • Video source sync when imported in fcp loses sync

    Hi
I have an issue I can't figure out:
When played in Quicktime player (format hdv60i) the video and audio are in sync but when imported in Final Cut Pro 7, they lose their sync.
I made my sequence to the exact specs as the original movie file and tried different settings but it is always out of sync.
Another thing, in FCP 7 the movie file does not want to play until the end but when I tried to make a Pro-Res 422 LT version, the out of sync issue remain but now the file play from start to finish.
    I am speechless...
    Anyone help???

    Hi,
I made my sequence to the exact specs as the original movie file
What are the specs of the original file please.

  • Background menu video keeps repeating when highlighting buttons

    hi,
so... i'm making this awesome DVD right?:P but when i have motion menu's. (background video's with sound) but when i preview every time my mouse pointer goes over another button, the background video starts all over again. i want it to continue. not to repeat while zapping through the 55 buttons! xD
anyone knows how i can fix this? ^^

    thanks man.
    btw, WIN7x64 , adobe encore cs4
    system:
    AMD phenom2x4 3.2ghz
    6GB RAM
    4TB hdd
    nvidia geforce en250GTS 1GB.
you were right, when i used the control options instead of the mouse it was faster and it replayed only once when going through the buttons 3 times. i think that was a coincidence cause i put loop back on just then.
    thanks

  • Videos & iTunes Lags When I Move MacBook Pro

So I bought my otherwise marvelous MacBook Pro about a month ago but I've noticed than when I move the laptop the video, specifically in the VLC player, lags. It's not with every tiny movement but I don't exactly have to shake it violently. iTunes also does the same thing when I'm playing a song, although possibly a bit less sensitive. That can't be right, can it? I mean I just got it so I haven't changed the RAM or anything else in the inside as I've ready some other posts. What can I do?

I turned off the Sudden Motion Sensor and you're right! It doesn't lag at all. Sometimes it lags for a second randomly but very seldom and I guess thats still something from the firmware. Although it's weird because most things I read about the firmware is people having problems when they install a third party hard drive.

  • Keep dates when importing movies

please help. i do have lots of clips to import (after having converted them from a m2ts format). they were sorted chronologically and when imovie imports them the order is gone.
i need them to be to keep their original name as this is the time the video was taken.
does anybody have a solution for this?
    thanks

If you import directly from the camera, it should preserve the date and time metadata.
If you convert your m2ts later via a converter, the clips should be named clip-yyyy-mm-dd hh;mm;ss.ext
where hh is hours in 24 hour time, and ext is the current extension.
If a clip is named this way, it will sort into the proper chronological order in Events, and you will be able to see the date and time metadata when skimming using VIEW/PLAYHEAD INFO.
    Hope that helps.

  • Video quality changes when imported into Final Cut Pro

I have video files that I have imported from an external hard drive that were transferred from an HD camera. When viewing the footage directly from the hard drive, the quality is great. Once imported into Final Cut Pro, however, there are small "flares" (don't know how else to describe them) that appear for split seconds across the screen. The best way to describe it is if you are watching a television that has an antenna, there will be static or interferance on the image. This is barely noticable but I can't determine what would cause the decline in quality. My video settings are set to DV NTSC 48 kHz and wonder if this is the problem or if anyone knows of something else that I should change prior to importing.

Thank you so much for your help! I am technically challenged and STRUGGLING to say the least.
Some files are definitely H.264 and I can convert them to ProRes. I also have clips that are
    DVCPRO HD 1080p25, 1,440 x 1,080 (1,888 x 1,062)
Linear PCM, 16 bit big-endian signed integer, 2 channels, 48000 Hz
    Current Size: 1,440 × 810 pixels
Will I need to do anything to those as well?
Here is the question I'm afraid to ask because I think I know the answer already. Can I simply replace the clips in my sequence with the newly compressed ProRes files or do I have to change all of the video and sequence settings and then start all over?

  • How do I keep leading when importing a Microsoft Word document to indesign?

I have a long document in Word that has some simple styles applied to it (a few colors and different fonts) but when I try to place it in my indesign file, the leading changes. Everything else stays the same. Any idea why it changes? I thought leading is one attribute that's supposed to import if I have "preserve styles and formatting for text" setting checked in indesign...
I don't know if it matters, but I'm using Mac OS 10.9 with Indesign CS6 and Microsoft Word 2011

Migintosh, I hadn't thought of that, but turns out that is my problem. I seems when I place the file, indesign in automatically changing those values. Is there a way to force indesign keep those at 0 (or whatever value I want) as I place the text? Right now, what happens is I place the text and then have to select all and manually set the before and after to 0 since indesign decides to change the after spacing to 0.1389.

  • Input video appears stretched when imported to Premiere Pro CS6

I'm on a beginner level on Premiere Pro so please be gentle if this question is very basic. I'm trying to make a video that preserves the input video resolution exactly. My input video was an MP4 movie with resolution 1440 x 1080. It's an iPad screen recording using X-Mirage software. When I opened it normally in quicktime, it didn't seem stretched. However, when I imported the clip into Premiere, the clip appeared stretched. I checked the Properties of the clip and it turned out to have Pixel Aspect Ratio of 1.3333, which meant the pixels were stretched. My output sequence was also stretched out because of this, even though the output indicated that the resolution is the same: 1440 x 1080. I tried to comply with "Clip Mismatch Warning" and the result was still a stretched version. Please help!

    Hi,
In premiere pro, you will see sequence on the top. Click on sequence and from the drop down select sequence settings. Under sequence settings there would be a tab of pixel aspect ratio. Try and change it to d1/dv ntsc widescreen 16:9 or hd anamorphic.
Check if it makes any difference.
    Thank You
    Arjun

  • Video duration changes when imported

Hello! I'm having a problem importing video that is over 10 minutes long into after effects cs3. okay, when I import a video that is 10 minutes or longer in duration it comes into after effects with only 2 minutes of the video. A video that is 8 or 9 minutes, however, works fine and comes in as 8 or 9 minutes. Is this supposed to be like this or is something wrong? any answers would be great!
P.S. I did change the comp size. still didn't work.
    Thanks!

*eek* In that case it's most certainly a breakdown in the video CoDec. Dunno what camcorder you use, but with the recent swing towards AVCHD everywhere, anything is possible, as AE does not natively support this format. It solely relies on whatever CoDec you have on your system to play it back, which brings us to the important point: for the time being, you will have to convert the files externally to work with them in AE. This certainly can be done with some program that came bundled with the cam, but would also be possible using SUPER© or similar tools. Also, if you have Premiere, try to capture it to a different format. It does some on-the-fly trickery to handle various MPEG species that may resolve your issue.

  • ITunes 7 Burning keeps freezing when importing?!

I try to import cd's from the new iTunes 7 and with cd's that are even barely scratched and it keeps freezing in the middle like it can't read the cd's. I've imported the same cd's on my powerbook and no problem, anyone else having similiar problems?

in itunes, under preferences - go to advanced.
under the importing tab, check use error correction when reading audio cds.
    see if that helps.
