My videos wont transfer please read and respond

I keep tryin to transfer videos in mpeg format and it says that i cant play it on my i pod. so does it need to be in a different format and if so how do i put it in the format?

There are many of us who have upgraded and installed the new version of itunes 7.0. From within the itunes store, if you select either television shows or movies, many of us are getting an error message that states, "itunes is unable to browse album covers on this computer". My question is simple, why is this occurring? Does the new version require more computer power that previous versions? Come on Apple, we know and see you browse these discussions. you may need to convert the videos to a format appropriate for the ipod to see them .which are .mov or .mp4 video files. to do this you will ened to convert the videos using a 3rd party software that is not suported by apple. windows users have had either trouble or success using this software.

my sons Ipod was working fine, he was downloading some music and then it just stopped responding. Its like it is frozen, it shows the music and videos but we can't get them to play, please help I'm going crazy!!!!!!!!!

Videos wont transfer after update

Couple days ago i installed the ipod update and also the itunes update and since then ive not been able to transfer videos onto the ipod which was being played last week keep getting error '<video name> were not copied to the ipod, because they cannot be played on this ipod'
dont understand why a video that would play last week wont transfer this week after the update, this dont happen on all videos either, even thou ive converted them with the same software with same settings.
anyone else come across this problem.

I am having EXACTLY the same problem as you are. I to had updated my software and used the same program as you did and the video doesn't transfer. I tried downloading that sample movie that Apple supplied to test and see if it would transfer but iTunes doesn't even add it to my library, and Quicktime won't even recognize that sample file as compatible format even though iTunes and Quicktime are the latest version. This is so frustrating.

No luck with printer recognition with airpot express, please read and help

I have 3 macs and 1 pc running vista, my 3 macs print perfectly through airpot express. I installed the airport cd on my pc, but i cant print, Im no good with windows, i was wondering if you could walk me through the process.
I already clicked on add a printer but it wont find my printer, and my printer is connected to my airport express and its on, so, i dont get why it wont recognize it or why doesnt it work

After you click on "Add a Printer", do you select "Add a Network, Wireless, or Bluetooth Printer"?
If that doesn't work, there should be a way to connect by specifying the IP address of your AirPort Express.

I work for a company of a 1000 people and the owners bought everyone an ipod.
the problem is that my boss wants me to record each persons serial number to their ipod and print it out for his records.
i know that the serial number is on the back of the unit but that would take to long.
I also know that when its plugged into the ipod updater program the serial number also shows.
I would like to know if someone can build me a script that would grab the serial number to each ipod i plug in to the updater (maybe bash script, grab from string) copy it to the clip board and paste it to a text edit document. ohh and also a dialog box so i can write the persons name down. and if that can be added to the document as well.

If you still have the boxes handy, check to see if the S/N is printed on with a barcode. If so you can just zap those all in with a reader and be done with it in minutes.

PLEASE READ AND HELP. WHY does the tiger disc keep ejecting and wont start?

i just got tiger and everytime i put it in the disc tray it ejects itself after 30 seconds or so... It wont show up on desktop or the startup disc.... tried holding C to boot up using it but it didnt work and tried all trouble shooting but nothing worked. When you say you have the full version, what does it say on the Disks for numbers & such? Is it the Black Retail version?
What happens if you have Disk Utility open when you insert the DVD, or is it CDs?

MPG4 video wont transfer to itunes

Hey everybody:
My problem:
I had a CD of 3 video files(the original format was 3GPP2 of 2 of them, and MPG4 of one of them -- Call them files 1, 2, and 3). The third file I was able to drag and drop into itunes, and I got it on my video ipod (all though Ipod had to convert it, interestingly, though it was allready mpg4... shrug thats not the issue though).
The other 2 files, I can't get into itunes for the life of me. Ive tried a number of things:
I converted them first with videora, then tried to drag and drop into itunes. No error, they just didnt show up. When I dragged them, the little plus and everything showed up.
Again with the converted files, I tried the "add file" and the "import" functions in itunes. Again, no error, the files just didnt show up.
I tried dragging the original file into itunes, thinking Id just convert them using the converter in itunes. AGAIN, no error, they just didnt show up in my video list.
I've added LOTS of video's to my ipod, downloaded, off CD's and I've never had this problem before. It's driving me up a wall! What am I missing??
PS. Im not running the latest version of Itunes. (I think its 6 that Im running) 7 is downloading as I speak, to see if that makes a difference.

Ok, so I looked at the properities of the files that videora converted for me, and although videora gave me no errors, the files it spitted out are pretty much useless. 0 bytes of data, and they wont play.
Ive never tried converting from 3GPP2 before, and am unfamiliar with the format. Videora doesnt recognize it as a media format, but it didnt give me any errors, so I assumed it worked. That answered the question of why it wouldnt transfer anyway.
From what I've found online, and seen in the properities of the file, I gather 3GPP2 is some type of compressed MPG4, or something... BTW, quick time plays the files in 3GPP2 format (and says they are some type of MPG4), but I can't drag and drop them into itunes. I get a circle with a line through it.
Long story short, anyone know how I can get those files into a format itunes can deal with, because aparently videora doesnt do it right!

Ever wonder what a word processing program by Adobe would look like?
I have. It would be full of Adobe-style timesaving Shortcuts, such as:
Being able to delete text on page 34 while you're looking at page 2, or
Being able to bold, resize and italicize text on page 7 while looking at page 15
Sound ridiculous? That's because it is! Yet, as ridiculous as it might sound for a word processing program to allow users to do this, that's the same nonsense that goes on in Premiere Pro.
For example, here are some of the things users can all too easily do to selected media that isn't even in the visible portion of their Timeline:
Delete clips
Ripple delete clips
Modify Video/Audio effects
Modify Motion settings
and now in PP CC, even add video/audio transitions
Which long time Premiere editor has never deleted an unseen selected clip by mistake, only to discover the mistake long after the fact (when no number of Undos could fix the problem)?
Which new CC editor has never mistakenly added transitions to unseen selected clips?
Are there any situations when users would actually want to change Timeline content that isn't within the Timeline's visible bounds?
Apparently Adobe thinks so. Could it be Adobe programmers feel that actually seeing the clips you're modifying is somehow unnecessary and even passé?
It doesn't take a genius to see just how incredibly stupid this is! IMHO, the ability to erroneously modify unseen clips in so many different ways, makes Premiere Pro unnecessarily prone to user mistakes, while providing 0 benefits in return.
My proposed solution is simple. Let's unite and all send Adobe (www.adobe.com/go/wish) the following official Feature Request, for the benefit of PP users:

Brief title for your desired feature:
Only allow clips that are within the visible portion of the Timeline to be modified.
How would you like the feature to work?
Never allow selected clips that fall completely outside the visible bounds of the Timeline to be:
-Deleted
-Ripple Deleted
-have video/audio transitions added to them
-modified in the Effect Controls window
-etc.
Note: If a clip selection is partially within the viewable bounds of the Timeline, then all relevant actions above should be allowed.
Why is this feature important to you?
I can't think of a single instance in which any user would ever want to modify selected clips that are completely outside the visible bounds of their Timeline. The ability to change unseen clips provides zero user benefits while making Premiere Pro extremely prone to user errors. Please fix this by only allowing users to modify clips that are within the visible portion of their Timeline.
User attempts to modify unseen clips could bring up a discrete warning, such as a small red bar that would flash once over the track(s) that have the unseen selected clips. For example, if a user hits the Delete key while there's selected clips on V1, V2 and A2 to the left side of the Timeline's visible portion, small red bars would flash once on the left-hand edge of tracks V1, V2 and A2. This would visually inform users that they have unseen selected clips on those tracks, and therefore the current 'Delete' command can't be used since the selected clips are outside the visible range of the Timeline.
For the sake of accommodating the preference of all users, this visual warning could be turned on/off in PP CC's new Timeline wing menu.
The more we speak up to let Adobe know how we want our software to work, the bigger our chance of eventually getting it, so lets all pitch in! If you've ever modified an unseen selected clip by mistake, please do your part and Copy/paste the FR above to send it to Adobe, or write your own version. Thank you!

It's clear from your response that you don't even understand the details of my FR.
Did you miss the part where I wrote: "Note: If a clip selection is partially within the viewable bounds of the Timeline, then all relevant actions above should be allowed." This means if any action, such as a Ripple Delete is performed on a clip(s)/clip selection that is partially visible in the Timeline, in would work as it currently does (Rippling all clips in and out of the visible range). If the user tries to Ripple Delete selected clips that are completely out of view of the timeline, then the action would not be allowed, in order to prevent users from deleting clips by mistake and not even immediately seeing the result of that action. I thought it was already clear, but hopefully this clarifies it even further.
I'm talking about Premiere not allowing users to edit selected clips that are completely out of view on the Timeline. Chances are that if a user has selected clips that are completely out of view on the Timeline, he/she has forgotten about those selected clips and does not want to be able to modify those clips by mistake.
Regarding suggesting that I go to FCP just because you didn't like a FR request I posted, which you didn't even care to understand fully before responding... really?

How often do you actually want to perform edits on selected clips that are completely outside the visible bounds of your Timeline? When does doing so actually save you time or provide you with a 'very real benefit' as you say? In my case, never. I'm guessing in the case of most people, it's never as well. I'd appreciate it if you could provide an example of when being able to do this is useful because I can't think of any. Thanks
Perhaps another approach would be to allow off screen changes to be made, as is currently the case, but have the red bar warnings I mention. This way, users would know everytime they change media that's off screen.
The ideal solution might be to have this as a preference: An 'Allow changes to off-screen Timeline clips' checkbox. When checked, things would work the error-prone way they currently do. Unchecked, they'd work the way I suggest. The red warning indicators could also be turned on/off as I mention in my FR. What do you guys think?
I sure would find this forum a much friendlier/more civilized place if people tried to help each other with constructive suggestions rather than just dismissing each other's ideas and making ridiculous comments such as 'if you don't like it, go back to FCP'.

Videos wont transfer in to itunes yet photos do.

Hi when i sync my iphone to my pc it will transfer photos from iphone to pc but it will not transfer my videos to pc, is it something simple i'm doing wrong. Help much appreciated....Mat..

Photos are not synced from the iPhone to the computer, they are imported. This is not done through iTunes, it is done with whatever software you would use to get pictures off a digital camera. For a Windows computer, that would be the camera and scanner wizard. It should do the same for the video from the iPhone as well, unless you have another problem.
With the iPhone plugged in, start the camera and scanner wizard, see if it recognizes the iPhone. There has to be something in the camera roll for it to recognize it. You should then be prompted to import the pictures/video. Another method is to go to Windows Explorer and the iPhone should be listed as a camera, or removable device. Double click on the icon, and you can open the folder with the pictures/video. Click and hold the picture/video and move it to the desktop. It can then be deleted from the iPhone.
