I got an iPod touch 1st generation and downloaded loads of apps, some paid some free. A few weeks ago I restored the iPod touch and when I went to download apps that I had already owned it said I needed a newer iOS. It says I need iOS 4.3 and I have iOS 4.2.1 and when i tried to update it says I have no software updates.
Do you have any of those apps saved on your computer, in iTunes?
It is true that your 1st generation iPad is already now running the highest version of iOS it can. It cannot be updated further. If the developer has pulled the older versions of their apps and now only offers versions requiring iOS 5 or 6 then you will not be able to run those apps any longer (unless you kept backup copies of the older versions in iTunes on your computer).
Developers determine what version(s) of their apps are in the App Store. As many have updated their apps to take advantage of the enhancements in iOS 6 , they've pulled their older versions and no longer support them. -
the app store wont let me download an app it says i'm out of storage when I checked the game takes 1.6 and i have 2.4
You need to free up more storage space. To download and install an app it take between two and three times the file download size. You need between 3.2 and 4.8 free.

Since I've updated my iPad to iOS 6 it's running a lot slower especially when I scroll up and down and takes ages to load up on the App Store I know they got glitches but are they gonna be sorting this out as well ?

I am also having issues with the device since updating to IOs 6. The time between clicking an icon, i.e. a picture, and the load of that picture takes longer enough to notice it. It did not happen before the update.
I am also having problems with some applications, specially the Facebook application. When I click on my picture in the right bar of the app, it promps a window that ask me for share my location, etc.. and get freeze there.
Regarding reseting the device, already done. It did not helped.
Also, SIRI is very nice, but sometimes it stop working and I have to re-start the device in order to being able to use SIRI again. When it happens, it looks like SIRI is sending the information, but does not do anything after.
It is understandable that they require some time to get the new IOs version working properly, but I dont like to be a Beta tester. -
if i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it to the option 'set up as a new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and log into my apple ID so i can just restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos, contacts, ect. and then later i can add contacts that i need/want instead of them restoring them from icloud?
The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...

-sierraHey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Help please! I have been using Mountain Lion for a few weeks but Finder, System Prefferences and the App Store won't load and/or keep crashing even after reinstalling the OS. How do to fix it?

SMC Version (system): 1.68f99You need to check to make sure you are actually connected to the network. Tap Settings > WiFi >and then tap the blue ">" next to the network name with checkmark. You should see a complete set of IP address but if the router didn't issue you an IP address properly, you will see your touch IP address start with 169.x. If this is the case, you are connected to the internal network but not to the web.
First thing to do (while you are on that screen) is tap "Forget Network". Then turn WiFi off. Turn it back on and, if needed, tap Other and re-enter your network information. If you continue to have problems, check with your IT department on Monday.
In the meantime, your laptop and iTunes can be used to purchase apps and music. Syncing them with your touch is a great way to get them installed while you are waiting for the answer on your WiFi problem. -
How do I remove my credit card from my account and still download free apps? because that card is no more good anymore the App Store will not let me download any apps . I no longer have a credit or debit card.so PLS help
On your iPad tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account - that should give you a payments link on your account's page. Or on your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should also be a payment link.

My App Store won't allow me to download any apps. It says such and such app is unable to download try again later every time. I have enough storage all my devices are up to date on all updates please help
I am a librarian at a 1:1 iPad school and we are having this problem with all ~3000 student iPads as well at ~300 teacher iPads. This is extremely frustrating. I have tried suggested fixes found on other discussion boards but none have worked.

I changed my Apple ID today, and now I can't log into the App store because my devices just prompt for my password, and I am not offered the opportunity to enter the new ID. HELP !

Hello, how are you? On September 13 I bought an iPad and in October bought a game on the app store problem is that when informed the card number dropped normally, but then went on to ask for a new form of payment because one had given any errors, and so not lowered any other game and not upgraded the already downloaded. I do not know what exactly I have to do, because if informed a new payment method continues with the same problem, checked the card bill and really had given an error, because there was no billed the game. I ask you to verify what happened and explain to me what I need to do, because my single card is Visa's and do not intend to return others to use the services of the App Store.

I deleted all Apps on iPad as they were associated with an out of date Apple ID (which I have forgotten the password) and I could not update them, but the "App Store" logo still shows that there are 2 to be updated and when I go there I cannot delete. Please assist. Thanks.
Why don't you explain what happens when you try to delete these two apps that are showing that they need updates. You can only delete them if they are actually installEd on the iPad. Are they on the device?

In the past, I've been able to connect my iPod (video) to the USB of the Xbox360 and play my music as I play games. A few weeks ago, my Xbox360 stopped reading my iPod. Does this have to do anything with recent updates? Anyone got any suggestions? An
