my volume buttons on the side of my iphone4 quit working so now i cant turn up my call volume is there another way like in settings or something?
If the basic troubleshooting steps outlined in the User Guide don't help, then bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

I could not turn up the sound (volume) on my iPad 2 using the volume button on the side. This happens after I have reduced the volume to minimum using the same volume button. The volume indicator does not move up at all. Note: it was not on mute, so the issue seems to be the button.
Try this and see if it works.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

My iphone4 is 2 and 1/2 yrs old, works fine other then the volume buttons just stopped working all of sudden. This function not working means I cannot hear people very well when they call because I cannot turn the volume up and when watching footage i.e. music video or film, I cannot turn volume up or down. This has meant I cannot use my phone like I used to, therefore not fit for purpose. Questions is - Is Apple, under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 obliged to repair/replace my phone for free?

Pretty much. Except that Apple will replace it for a fixed fee that is far less than the cost of a new phone. In the US the replacement cost for an iPhone 4 is $149. It is comparable in the UK. Unless you can prove that the fault was present at the time of purchase. A switch wearing out would probably be considered normal wear and tear, not a "fault". -
Volume button don't work . Can they be turned on and off?
If the iPhone falsely senses it is docked due to short in the charging port it can disable Volume buttons. Shorting in charging port can be due to dust, debris, etc. If no Warranty, clean with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol. Never hurts to try a Restore with current iTunes on your computer, too.

Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if better. If still problem, and if there is Warranty or AppleCare coverage, make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, clean charging port again with small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.

Im having trouble with my iphone 5. For about 6 months now i cannot change my volume while on the phone or using the buttons on the side to turn the volume down. I took it to the sprint store so they could fix it and they said they have never had this problem before. Ive owned every iphone from the very beginning and never had this problem before. please help.
Have you tried going to Settings> then tapping on Sounds. and making sure that change with buttons is turned on?

I have an iPhone 4 and recently started to have some problems. First, the button on the side of my phone, that puts the phone on silent is not working. I can move the switch, but my phone stays in silent. However, If I plug my headphones in, Then I can hear everything like I am supposed too. Also, my up volume button does not work. This is with the headphones also.
I have tried doing a soft reset, I reset all of my settings, I updated my software, I restored everything back to factory settings, and nothing has fixed it. I bought it from best buy and can send it in for service, but the last time I sent a phone in, it took them 3 months! and I really don't want to go without my phone that long.
Does anybody have any suggestions?

Why in the world would you take it to Best Buy for service? Take it to an Apple Store. They can replace it on the spot if it's defective. -
i dropped my ipad mini and the left side got dented .. so the volume buttons and the mute is not working anymore .... and when i am playing games the volume automatically goes up... i still have warranty .. so does apple replace a new one?

They will replace it with a refurb of like kind if the problem is deemed to be hardware related and not caused by misue. They will probably try restoring the device and troubleshoot it on their own before they replace it for you .... And I'm talking about an Apple Store here.
You should probably try this next.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. -
My speakers from my iPhone 4S is not working I'm clicking on the buttons on the side nd the volume is not even showing getting louder or lower but when I plug in my ear phones I can hear it juss happen out of no where what sould I do ?
Your iPhone charging port may have a minor short, causing iPhone to falsely sense it is connected to a dock turning off its speaker. Clean iPhone charging port with a clean dry toothbrush.
