My volume won't work anymore. It stays gray and won't go anywhere. Help?
I've tried to turn up my volume but when I do it says it's turned all the way up but keeps a circle with line through it underneath the bar and it won't let me turn up or down the volume. It doesn't play anything, and in the bar up top it is grayed out, and still won't let me make it louder or anything.
Try quitting the app and then reopening. To quit an app: double click home buttom, then hold down the facetime app until it starts to jingel and a red circle should appear. Clicking that circle will quit the app! If it still does not work then try reseting the device itself!

With previous editions of iTunes for Windows, I could play a CD at the same time as it was being imported. That does not seem to work anymore. Why not, and is there a way to do both with the most current version? I am running a Surface Pro 2 with Windows 8.1 and the most recent vesion of iTunes, which, in all other respects, works well. I just can't listen to an album for the 1/2 to 1 hour that it takes to import it into my library.
Two JVM's ? I thought that J2EE worked within a single JVM and run everything in containers. Can you see the two processes?

My IPhone's volume is not working. I have checked and tried everything. When I use my headset I can hear when phone rings or receive text msg when I pull the jack out I have no sound on anything
I had this problem with my 4s a couple of times when I'd taken the headphones out and it hasn't registered it. My solution was easy, all I had to do was turn the phone off and then on again.
Although I'm sure you've already tried this its a sometimes forgotten and very easy solution to a lot of problems. I hope you find out what's wrong. -

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I just updated my Mac Mini to latest software, tried updating GarageBand. It downloaded but now it gets stuck downloading the 'essential sounds and loops'. It always worked fine before I updated and would really appreciate some help. Thanks

How far does the download proceed? Do you get an error message?

Accidents happen, and apple can certainly assist you with replacement of said device. Most manufacters would tell you to buy a brand new retail unit, apple will charge you about half price for a replacement unit. I agree its unfortunate that it happend, but expecting a free replacement is just going to lead to disappointment

Updated a page and now the "Publish Site" stays gray and can't update the site. What's up?
Updated my iWeb page and now it won't publish. "Publish Site" stays gray. What to do now? I'm not using Mobil Me. FTP published. Workd before. Haven't a clue now.
Try making a minor change to that same page, like moving an object a couple of pixels one way or the other, and see if the File ➙ Publish Site Changes menu option will work for you.

wife's profile has virus, tried using Malwarebytes but I think we still have problems. As an aside, the Malwarebytes db won't update

I am running version 24.4.0 I can send and receive email but when I get an email that has a hyperlink that I click on and go to. But we don't go anywhere, I tried running in the safe mode that that help, tried rebooting that didn't help. I have an earlier version on my laptop that works fine.

Relink does not work; all events staying red and files disappear!
A very bad bad story...
after continuis spinning ball (i hate this thing what so often comes to please me) I used "forced stop" fcpx. (i could not else)
after restart fcpx all the events are in red.
after restart mbp + fcpx: all events are red again... that looks bad to me...
i tried more than ones the relinck function:
no result at all. I saw actions being done, the harddisk drive was working but no relinked files in the events. (i tried one by one, there are 9)
An other attempt with relinck: a small event (about 9 files) and not important for me seems to be going well, the red clips disappear in the event window but .. all clips disappeard to!; a totally empty event window... I looked with finder into the map and believe it or not: all the files were gone! I could not believe this thinking i made a fault. Thus:
I repeated this action with another map (and copied the files in it first) and the same happens: totally empty.
I tried to re-import from camera/archief: no result.
The last thing to do was:
to open a new event and "imported from file": the clips came into the event window but .... red...
So, in my opnion there is something very very wrong...
What can i do more to restore the connection because the most events have a content according to the finder.
BTW, i know there is a lot of discussion about this matter and may be with the solution but i can 't find it... (even with the searchfunction)

How are you supposed to know that the files fcpx is pointing out are originals or Proxies. You have to go check in the Prefs.
Wishlist: Since choosing to read fullres or proxy media is an application wide feature, it should appear clearly somewhere (in the Timeline bar, the Library, or the Inspector) as a reminder.
A couple of time I have wondered which files fcpx was reading. The only way to know is the cmd-F (Locate in Finder) command. The Inspector doesn't give any answer to that. -
My volume doesn't work but only for music and apps; everywhere else it's normal. What can I do?
my iphone is unable to play music out loud, and only works with the assistance of speakers or headphones. I know it can play out loud as the alarm/ringtone etc all work, and also when I put my phone in speaker docks, just before it connects it plays mystic out loud through the phone speakers. Just not when I want it to!! Any help would be much appreciated
