  • The screen is messed up, how do I get it repaired?

I have the 60BG Video IPod, and I believe it needs repairs... A small while back, I was raking leaves while listening to music on it. I just turned it off in my pocket, so I didn't notice anything. Sometime during the next day, when I was going to watch a video, I noticed the screen is messed up. It just looks like someone burned a hole in the display, so nothing comes in correctly. The sound still works, just need to find my way to my sounds blindly... What I think I need to do is get Apple, or whomever, to reaplce the screen, but how do I go about doing so? Where on this site do I go, and what procedures do I go through to do this? I really doubt it's something covered in the warrenty, and I don't really care, I just want to be able to sent it in to get repaired... I want it back to being able to show videos and pictures, instead of it being a 60GB IPod Shuffle...

Two options. You can arrange online service from Apple here.

  • HT201210 Screen is red and blurry any suggestions

My ipad screen is red and blurry. Not yet a year old.  Any suggestions on what might b wrong or how to fix the problem?

OK, it now sort of works. A couple of problems here:
After updating IOS, Safari iCloud was "automatically" switched off
Switching it on had no effect
resetting my iPad automatically switched off safari iCloud again
after switching it back on, it said "turning off safari data"
switched it off and on again, now it said : "turning on safari data" and the sync worked
    On IOS 7 no problems
The bookmarks not being displayed was because after pressing the book icon, it defaulted to showing the history and I had to press "Back" to get to the other options

  • Help! My screen is messed up...

I was fooling around with Mac's displays and Safari's appearance, now my computer screen is messed up. Like right now, this page is only half of the screen size. How do I fix this? Would you please explain in detail what should I choose in order to have the full screen?

Can you access a Finder window to get to your preferences folder in your user Library? If so, drag the preferences folder to the desktop and reboot.

  • I dropped something on my mac and now the screen is messed up. Can this be fixed?

I am a performer and I had a mic on a mic stand in my room while I was practicing. I accidentally moved the wrong way and knocked my mic off of my stand onto my macbook pro and now the screen is messed. I don't really know a lot about computers so I was wondering, if I take my macbook to the apple store will they be able to fix it? Also, If they can fix it, any idea how much it would cost. Thanks!

The repair will be a replacement.  It is an expensive repair well into the hundreds of dollars.
    Ciao.

  • The colors of my mac book screen are messed up

This has been happening on and off for awhile now, but the colors of my screen are messed up. My screen currently looks like the picture attached, everything is coated in a weird dark blue color. The only way I can revert the colors back to normal is by applying small pressure to the screen.
Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Since the pressure to the screen trick works, that says the internal cable is getting frayed by the hinge.  That resistance on the hinge is there deliberately so you don't push it back too far.   If you do, you can damage the cable.    If the machine was opened after market, the person closing it back up may have not properly tightened the hinge joints, thus defeating the built-in resistance making you end up fraying the cables anyway.  Dropping or bumping against the hinge has the same effect if there is enough force exerted.   Hopefully none of the above has happened, in which case you may have a case for AppleCare to look at.
    Good luck!

  • Screen looks messed up

    Hey,
I just bought an ipod touch 32 GB first generation from somebody off of ebay used. The screen is messed up. Blotches of light and dark areas spread across the screen. It almost looks like a cloud background behind everything. It's much more noticeable when the backlight is on and when I'm in an app that has a white background. It is almost invisible in the black home screen, but you could still see a little light spilling out at the top of the screen. Please see pictures below. Did anybody ever see something like this before? Is it going to cause problems? Can it be fixed? The unit works great otherwise; however, the water damage sticker in the headphone jack has been activated.

How likely does it seem that it is water damage that messed up the screen? Do you think there is actually water in there?
It wasn't listed as water damaged. I already contacted the ebay seller and he offered a 50% refund, but since it works fine, I said I would be happy with less and took $75 off of the original $190 I paid. Bad choice?
I plan on reselling this because I wanted the 2nd generation (made a mistake when bidding). Do you think I could sell it for $115? I see ones on ebay go for $70-$80 that won't even turn on.

  • Macbook Pro retina, Windows 8.1 dual screen, Dell E228WFP problem/blurry

    Hello brainiacs,
I am running my Macbook Pro 2013+ edition with Retina display and an extrenal screen.
Problem: Fonts and windows on secondary screen (Dell E228WFP), in extended display mode, appears blurry and/or large (see screenshot)
I use a Mini Display Port to DVI for my Dell Screen, Apple original product.
I use Windows 8.1 with latest Boot Camp, version 5.1
My Macbook is latest Macbook Pro with retina 15'' 2560x1600 px.
Dell Screen has a resolution of 1680 x 1050 px.
When I view the display settings in Screen Resolution mode in Windows, I get the following warning: "Your resoltuion is lower than 2028x1440. Some items might not fit on your screen". I do not believe this warining is regarding blurryness, but rather moving windows from primary to secondary monitor.
    Here's a screenshot:
Some of the texts look fairly sharp and crisp, for example the pop-up menu (except, this has huge fonts). Outlook is very blurry. Chrome is, - ok, but not perfect.

  • How big does an image/project need to be in order to project it onto a screen without it becoming blurry?

I am creating a project that will be projected onto a large screen, and I want to be sure it doesn't come up blurry. What size/settings are best for a project like this?

There are so many variables involved:
    Quality of the projector
Capacity to adjust light level, image contrast and color balance
    Distance from projector the screen
    Degree of magnification
    Distance from audience to screen
    Ambient room light
….just to name a few that it would be prudent to run some tests. There is no one-size-fits-all calculation that can be considered adequate.

  • Changed hard drive, now screen is messed up

I recently changed out the hard drive on my 15" 2007 Macbook Pro from the factory 5400 RPM, 160GB drive to a Hitachi 7200 RPM, 500GB drive. I carefully followed instructions online on how to open the laptop up, remove and replace the hard drive. When I went to boot up the laptop after the new hard drive was in (with the original OS 10.4 boot disc that came with the computer in the DVD drive) it seemed to load fine at first. I was on the grey load screen for a while, and when it moved to the "Choose your language" screen that appears the first time you turn on your Mac, the screen was a garbled mess. The best way I can describe it is that it looks like an old TV with bad reception from rabbit ear antennae. There are diagonal, blocky black lines across the screen. I can move the mouse cursor fine, and can see that clearly, and if I press enter, it's obvious the computer is working and moves on to the next screen, but it's all behind a garbled mess. Technical support wasn't much help, and only suggested I take it into Mac, but I know they'll charge me to fix it. Any ideas?

Try doing a Parameter RAM reset - hold down command/option/p/r keys at start up and wait for three chimes before releasing the keys.

  • Dual screen background messed up after waking from sleep

Ok, so i've searched for a while and cannot find an answer so I must ask it on my own. I currently have a dual monitor setup, one in front of me and another one off to the right, and one cool background image that spans both screens. The problem is, when
I wake my computer up from a sleep, the background image is messed up and it only shows the left half of the image on both screens. This can be remedied by re-selecting the primary screen and secondary screen under the control panel, but is a pain in the butt
to have to do every time, and is definitely something that shouldn't have to be done. This happens with both downloaded images and default backgrounds that came with windows. I am running windows 8.1 pro, and I need help.
    Any advice is welcome,
    Thanks

    Hi,
We need to make a troubleshooting with this problem, you can try to use Performance Monitor to capture the trace during system came into sleep and resume from sleep.
At Performance scenario option, choose Standby/Resume.
You can refer to the content of the link below for more details about troubleshooting Windows Performance issue by using WPT.
