Just got the u300s after hearing so much about it. Webcam image is very dark and exposure button is not working. auto adjust doesnt help. Even iphone4 front camera has a better exposure control. Can anyone help if it is software or hardware problem. Very disappointing.

Exactly the same issue. The exposure setting won't change. It's not even that it doesn't save, as you look at the preview screen, all of the video proc amp setting change live, but when you get onto exposure, it does nothing. And then it doesn't save.
So this issue has been floating around for about 3 years and nothing has come to light to fix it.

  • Images too dark on external display

    Hello,
I use Lightroom on my (Lenovo) notebook. Because of the small screen size, I tried using it with an external (Samsung) display. However, when I open Lightroom on the external display, all the images suddenly seem way too dark. It is the case that this display is generally too dark, because when I view the same picture in a photo viewer or a browser it is not too dark. See for example this screenshot. On the left hand you see an image (export from Lightroom) in my browser, on the right hand the same image in Lightroom. You can clearly see it is much darker. When I view both images on the screen of the notebook itself, there is no difference between them.
Actually, when I move the Lightroom window from the notebook display to the external display, you can clearly see Lightroom adjusting the images from light to dark.
Does anyone know what causes this, and how I can prevent Lightroom from showing the images too dark?
    Thanks!

I guess you misunderstood my problem. It's not only that images on the external display are way darker than on the notebook, but also that on the external display images in Lightroom are much darker than when I view the same image on the same display in a photo viewer or a browser. In the screenshot pictured above both the light and the dark version of the image are on the same external display.
However, in the meantime I found a solution. Changing the Windows Color System device profile to a non-WCS-profile did the trick: Photos appear as black, gray rectangles | Lightroom | Windows
Thanks anyway for trying to help.

  • Firefox shows images too dark; Chromium does not

I'm running an Arch installation on my laptop, which has an Nvidia GT425M gpu with the nvidia proprietary drivers installed. Firefox renders images noticeably darker than they should be, but Chromium does not have such an issue. I have disabled hardware acceleration on Firefox, but it didn't help. Anyone seen this before or have any advice?

  • How to add a live webcam image in OWC?

    Hi All:
We have a customer who wants to use iLearning with collabsuite. They like the way OWC is integrated with iLearning but they have some specific requirements.
One of the main requirement for them is to put a live webcam image of instructor/s in a webconference, where participants (students ) will be able to see the instructors teaching live. This webcam image will be positioned at the left or right top as a small window embedded to the webconference screen.
Do we have the ability to add such functionality in collabsuite? If not, how can the customer meet this requirement? If anybody knows how to do this, please reply to this post.
    Thanks and best regards,

  • When converted to RGB, image looks darker??

in photoshop CS4, I use Adobe RGB (1998) as my working profile. I open a document, I change it's profile from RGB, using "view"-"mode", to anything else, say Lab, and everything is fine up to now, but then I undo the change, and what I get is a darker image than before. I don't get the original image I opened. Same thing happens if I use the "convert to profile" option also.
I close the image and reopen it, it still looks darker. I restart photoshop and open the image, only then I get the original image with normal colors again. This happens only when I convert back to RGB, not from RGB and not between any other profiles.
So basically when I, at some point, change the color profile from RGB to any other profile and then back to RGB the image looks darker, and the only way to fix this is restarting photoshop. this didn't happen in any versions before cs4, what should I do? thanks.

thanks very much for your response. Actually I had the latest drivers and photoshop 11.0.1, then I downgraded my drivers and this solved the issue.
for everyone else using ati graphics cards, I had this issue with version 9.2 and 9.3, however, 8.1 solves this issue.
    thanks very much.

  • Crop webcam image

    Hi,
I have a webcam with huge resolution (1900x1200) that I stream using netstream. Actually i resize my cam to 320x240. I would like to implement a zoom, which would involve cropping my webcam image and streaming only a subpart of it.
Is there a mean to crop camera image with flash.media.camera or with flash.media.video, (or any other class) ?
    Regards,

Layers. Up to 99 of them. Lower layer numbers are closer to the "top" of the total video.
PNG files allow an alpha channel (that could be transparent) but a "mask" is just a simple black and white image file that covers something and exposes other areas. A mask can also be a "shape" (irregular dimensions).
Two of my files that show some of the features:

There is a small bug in the "full screen" playback (double image). Hit the escape key and then Command-f to re-enter full screen to clear the double image.

A "skin track" video. They can have any shape you desire.

  • Webcam Image Processing

    Hello Friends,
I would like to know if at all the LabVIEW IMAQ toolset can be used for image processing of Images acquired by a webcam using the USB port.
Further I would like to know if any one has used the IMAQ library for image processing of webcam images.
The VI which I used for image acquisition does not use any VI from IMAQ, which further confuses me about the use and applicability of IMAQ toolset to webcam images. The current status is that I am able to acquire images and display them on the front panel but I am unable to figure out as to how I should go the image processing.
    Please help if you can.

  • TV image too dark

    Hello all,
I am using a PB 12in (2006 model 1.5gHz) with HDMI cable & audio cable connecteted to a 2 year old TV w/ an HDMI port.
The PB recognizes the display and the image and audio are fine EXCEPT that the picture is very dark. PB brightness is set to Max as are the TV setting.
Perhaps this is the fault of the Mini DVI <> HDMI adapter cable OR ?

I have the same issue with my ATV3 since day one so I did some searching. I found there are literally many thousands of complaints all over the web about Apple TV images being to dark when hooked up via HDMI. All ATVs 1-3. Apple has been clearly ignoring this growing problem ( and there paying customers) for many years as they have never fixed or even addressed this we'll know fiasco affecting most ATV users.
Good luck getting Apple to actually care about fixing a fault in design! But, there is always the competition?

  • On PDF fine black image appears dark grey

We are using a mix of .TIF and .bmp images in black and type in black with a full background of Panotone Hexachrome Orange M. When we make a PDF of this the images and type appear dark grey on the PDF. When we print them they print out normal.

What can I say?  Stuff happens.
