My website background image color is not correct in Safari????

On my website my background jpg image that appears in bottom left corner is not correct in Safari. In ALL other web browsers (Firefox 3.1, IE, Opera, etc) my website looks fine! So it must be a setting or error in Safari. The jpg image in question has a background color of 191919 (dark gray) and it matches in Firefox and IE, etc... but not in Safari? In Safari my jpg image is a lighter color than rest of webpage. My header is the same type of file (jpg with #191919 background) and it looks fine... THAT is the strange part!
Is this a known issue with safari or am I doing something wrong? I have tried no color management on the image in Photoshop and with color management in Photoshop (when I save for web) and this doesn't seem to matter. It is driving me crazy. My website looks silly in Safari with this error. www.eXacteXposure.com is the website.

I'm not seeing that problem here, either (Safari 3.1.2 in Mac OS X 10.5.5). The image at the bottom left corner matches the background nicely.
Have you looked at your site on more than one Mac running Safari? My thinking at this point is that your web site and images are fine, but there's a problem with your installation of Safari. Do you have any third party Safari "enhancers" or hacks installed?

  • Trace background image color

i am working on project for avatar design and would allow
user to upload his pic on avatar face. i did this part. Now next
thing is user can select 2d design 0f lips to place on face? Here
comes the problem. i need to auto blend color of flash lips to
background pic of user face. This can be done if i can grab color
value of background on runtime and then i can apply that color to
2d lips to blend with original. Can some one suggest any idea or
    alternate

Yes. When you style ul.MenuBarHorizontal a, as you have discovered, you are styling ALL a in the MenuBarHorizontal.
Immediately after the style you have shown, put this style:
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul a {background-image: none;}
That should stop the image from appearing on submenus, counteracting the earlier rule, but only for the submenus.
You could add a color to that style rule, if you wanted to. Whenever you indicate both a background-image and a background-color, the background-image will take over, if it's able. The background-color is typically there as insurance, in case the background-image does not render or images are turned off. It's a "belt AND suspenders" kind of thing.

  • Why does my Background image color changes when I place an image ?

    Hi everyone,
I'd like to make a presentation in InDesign. I put a background image into a different layer which I called "Background" and then I create a new layer which I called "Images" and place an image with a transparency layer. When I place this image onto the Images layer color of the image in the Background layer changes. I can not figure out why It changes its color. I'd be grateful to anyone who can help me resolve this problem ?
    Regards

  • Website Background Image

Sometimes when you get into more technical areas, you forget
the simple things. Can anyone assist on particulars of
creating a background image. For example: If I have a
particular design, artwork or photo that I'd like to place in the
background of a website (fill up entire screen), how do I
manipuate this to work? (other than adjusting size dimensions)
    Thanks

Well, a pattern is not too difficult, you can have one
    instance of the
pattern and when it repeats it will duplicate and fill the
    screen. Now a
photo is an entirely different matter. It can not be scaled
    with the browser
so you have to make it the size you want. You will need to
    not allow it to
repeat or it will look real funky on a large screen. You may
    want to make a
page background that will frame the image nicely, then place
    a div for your
content and set the image as the background for the div. This
    way the image
    will float in the browser.
Just a suggestion, you'll have to experiment to see what
    looks best.

  • How to get background image in cell not to repeat help please.

    hi folks,
i want to fill a cell with a background image and not have
the image repeat if the cell is resized by a viewer by enlarging
the text. (Previously i jsut used CSS to control the text, so it
couldn't be rezied, but now it seems that firefox ignores the CSS).
ANyway i would like people not to be able to resize the cell and
    the background not to repeat.
Here is an example that when the text is resized the
background image and cell saty the same but a scroll bar appears
    for the text.
    http://www.stephenhuyler.com/projects.cfm
    thanks for any help!

    Use CSS -
    td.special { background-repeat:no-repeat; }
    for this cell -
    <td class="special"....

  • Background image repeat-y not showing

I have done a search here without success.
I have a rough setup of a site that will show the background
repeat-y in a div in IE but will not display it in firefox or
    safari.
My css and and xhtml validate W3C.
I am no pro and have tried several things I can think of
    without any luck.
    Here is the url
    http://www.asmc.ca/index2.html
    Thanks in advance

The problem was that the div on which the background image
    was applied was
collapsing around its non-floated descendents. You needed to
    do something
to clear those floats before closing the div#innerwrapper.
    The
'overflow:hidden' style forces the browser to establish a new
    block context
for that div, effectively clearing the floats within, and
    allowing the div
to wrap even the floated elements.

  • Why hyperlink color change not working with Safari?

With several sites I visit when I click on their text link lists I see a colored symbol change to let remind me I visited that site. Unfortunately this only works when I use Firefox or IE, not Safari. Is there a reason this does not work with Safari? Is there anything I can do? thanks.
    Safari 3.2.1

    Hi ..
    YouTube content requires Flash.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
    Not empty the Safari cache.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Now try a video. If you still have problems, try troubleshooting Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • Background's color that was corrected showing up again in fast movements

I color corrected a shot and the color of background was changed via secondaries, just like a chroma key situation.
It works very fine, except when the actor is moving faster:
For example, when he moves an arm a little faster, then it creates a king of flicker, because the old color of the background is "coming back" on the edges of the arm, during the movement.
In FCP, when I go frame by frame, the shot is fine, the arm moves frame by frame and you cannot see the previous color of the background on the edges of the arm.
I see the problem on the TV, when watching a burned DVD. I tried Compression markers on the movement but it doesn't help.
I wonder if this due to Color or FCP or Compressor.
    Thanks.

Most of the challenges that you're encountering are common compositing woes.
Whether its film-originated shutter blur or video interlace, motion generates values in the transitional zone that can't always be solved with a single approach.
COLOR was never intended to be a compositing tool. That is why there is AfterEffects and Shake and all the rest. A roto-scoped vignette probably won't help and will be arduous at best. A major contributing reason is that you would need a shape for every field, not frame, which is all you can do.
Try a second cloned layer in Final Cut if you don't want to deal with a dedicated green-screen/compositing application. Use your original as the foreground, cut a matte with it and reveal your cloned layer which you could re-correct with the three-way FCP correction filter.
With an app like Shake, which accounts for interlace, you can generate several mattes, extract and create alpha channels, dodge them, dilate-erode-blur them, combine mattes and so on til the cows come home, have a beer and leave again. Which I believe I will do.

  • Photoshop 7 background default color is not white

Does anyone know how to change the defaulf background color back to white ... all files open with a yellow background, the default icon on the tool bar is yellow also. I click on restore default background color and it stays yellow even on a grayscale file ...I had this problem about 6 years ago and dont remember which of the 2,175 easy fixs it was.

You need to calibrate your monitor.
Since you have PS 7, you can use Adobe Gamma from the control panel.
This is a fairly basic tool that relies on the user's eyeball – a better solution is a hardware calibrator like the EyeOne.

  • Compressing video for website background images

I'm building a website and hoping to have a web video play underneath a screen on the home page. The sample 11 second file on our template is an mp4 file at 1280 by 720, but it's onlye 340KB. Using media encoder I was only able to compress our 15 second clip in an mp4 format to a whopping 18 megabytes. Clearly I'm setting something improperly. I encoded using the Vimeo setting. How can I use media encoder to create such a small video file? Thanks.

Found one way to reduce the 18 mb file to 3 mb. I imported the MP4 into Photoshop then exported to Adobe Media Encoder at "low resolution." I couldn't find comparable settings in Adobe Media Encoder through the direct interface, so this means it must be possible to compress farther with this tool. Any additional ideas/suggestions? Thanks.

Resolution and coloures are 'off' how ? Is it on every app and on the homescreen ? In terms of resolution are you refferring to using iPod / iPhone apps with '2x' enabled ?
Have you tried a reset to see if that makes any difference ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
