My website doesn't look the same as it does in Dreamweaver

I just finished designing most of my site on dreamweaver, and I uploaded it to a test site and now nothing looks like it did in dreamweaver! Can anyone explain to me where I went wrong?!?
http://test.netfc.com
Help please! Thanks!!!

Its hard to say. Do you want to provide a screen shot of what it should look like?
At the moment its scrambled all over the page ....so don't know where anything should be without a visual clue.
Found a clue:
The link to your stylesheet is pointing at a file on your computer NOT at the css file on your remote server:
<link href="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Desktop/MM_DWCS5/Chapter04/twoColFixLtHdr.css
Hummmm.....did you define a site folder at the outset of your project so Dreamweaver can manage your files and keep them all in one folder?

  • After editing image in Photoshop the saved result doesn't look the same in Lightroom

If I edit a photo in Photoshop and then save the photo, and then view the saved photo (not the original) back in Lightroom in Develop mode, the photo does not look the same as it does in Photoshop.  The dark shadows have been crushed in Lightroom.  If I look at it in Expose mode it looks good, but in Develop it the blacks and dark shadows are darker than the image appears in Photoshop.  This is a newer problem for me, I'm not sure when it started.
    I'm using:
    Lightroom 5.5
    Photoshop CC 2014
    Mac Pro 8-core 2008
    ATI Radeon HD 5770 GPU
    Mac OS X 10.9.4
Apple 30" Cinema Display, calibrated with a Spyder3 Elite but the calibration doesn't seem to matter, I can change to another profile (e.g. a stock profile not from the Spyder) and still see the same problem.
This seems to happen with Photoshop CC prior to 2014 as well.

I'm using ProPhoto RGB in Photoshop.  I have a test file that shows this issue: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/84023411/shadows_test.psd
This is a 16-bit ProPhoto RGB image with just 2 colors.  The top part of the image is filled with RGB 10,10,10 and the bottom half is 0,0,0.  If I open this file in Photoshop and use Apple's DigitalColor Meter utility to read the displayed values of the color of the top, using "Display native values", the result is 18,18,18.  I expect it to be different than 10,10,10 due to the display profile but I would expect the same image viewed in Lightroom's Develop module to also read as 18,18,18 in the top half.  But when I do this (import the PSD into Lightroom and open in Develop) the Meter reads 12,12,12.  If I view the PSD in Loupe mode in Lightroom the Meter reads as expected, 18,18,18.
The difference should also be noticeable to your eye (at least mine) without using any measurements.
The result is that the dark shadows appear crushed when editing in Lightroom Develop mode.
The problem happens on both my 2008 Mac Pro with an ATI Radeon HD 5770 GPU and on my 2013 MacBook Air, although the values read on the Air are different than the Pro due to display profiles.
Normally, of course, I'm editing a RAW file in Lightroom and open that up in Photoshop (cmd+e), but this test seems to show that it happens with non-RAW files.

    huh?
You should either use a font from the web-safe Mac/Windows list or convert your text into graphics in iWeb by typing it into a shape or adding a slight shadow.
    double huh?

  • A Photoshop PDF doesn't look the same inside a PDF Portfolio

    Hi,
I have a Photoshop PDF file that looks good on screen and includes re-touching I did to it. However, when I place it in a PDF portfolio, the edits aren't there anymore.
Anyone know what might be going on?
    Thanks!

Short of you having used the wrong file, I can't think of much... Computers aren't sentient and can't do these kinds of things...

  • Layout doesn't look the same on all screens...

I've just designed the layout and background for a new site, www.utopiapetsitting.com, and when my client looked at it on his wide screen monitor, it showed up all on one side of the screen. Ideally, I think I'm having trouble setting the background properly in Dreamweaver. The site layout was built with Photoshop and then slilced.
When you go to the site, there are two active links, www.utopiapetsitting.com/dogcare.html, and www.utopiapetsitting.com/catcare.html and on a smaller screen, everything fits, but on a larger screen, my client stated the bottom of the page is in the middle of the page. I've attached a picture of what he sent me to help you understand what he's seeing...
When I built the layout in Photoshop, I used the Web Canvas and it wasn't big enough for the browser test. I sliced out part of the background and created a background image and added it in using a style sheet to complete the rest of the background.
I want the content to take up more space, but when I built the layout in Photoshop, I placed the objects on the out limits of the pages... HELP!!!
This is the code for the index page...

    Thanks,

    Hi JTanna...
I took your advice and added the DOCTYPE... now I'm getting the following error in the code. Please see my screenshot first. Code is below.
I know I probably screwed up the file by not abiding HTML/CSS rules, but I'm trying to get it to work now.
The only resolution I thought about was when I sliced it in Photoshop, it saved that particular slice (the yellow one) as a .gif... but I checked it and it's saved as a .png.
    Your help is greatly appreciated!
The "yellow slice" is labeled as "images/artwork.png". Thanks, JTANNA!

  • Webpage doesn't look the same!!

When i created a Pages document, it looked beautful. However, when I exported it as a webpage, the formatting was completely changed. How can I fix this or prevent it in the future?

Keynote is at version 2, but Pages is still at version 1.
This is the first release of iWork. Previously, Keynote was sold all by itself. But when iWork was released in January it combined Keynote 2 and Pages 1 into one box.
When Apple announced iWork they also stated that it would eventually replace AppleWorks. The implication being that iWork would get functionality similar to AppleWorks in future releases. And given the "05" moniker, many of us are expecting an iWork '06 early in the new year.

My home page used to show the Firefox logo (fox encirling the globe) with a Google search bar below. Now I just have the logo and a searchbar, but the search bar doesn't work. I enter a keyord, hit enter and nothing happens.
The only change I made was I inadvertently installed (and then uninstalled) "Inbox".
I loved my old standard, plain Firefox home page and I miss it terribly. Please help.

You can try to delete the file chromeappsstore.sqlite in the Firefox Profile Folder.

<p>2. Attach the SHSP (Stylus Holder Setting Piece).</p>
<p>3. Jog the probe to a safe location with a clear line of approach
to the port(s) being calibrated. </p>
        <p>4. Then click OK.</p>
<p>After you click OK the machine will begin DCC measurement.</p>
    </div>
    The Expected Output:
Here's how it renders in a browser (the title is MsgBoxTitle, the body is the MsgBox style). I'm happy with how it looks there, even if the box shadow doesn't always display:
    The Ugly Printed Output:
And here's what it looks like in the printed output.
Ugly. Are there any tricks to get the printable (doc) output to match the online? Ideally, on the printed output, I'd like to have all the white space in my pseudo message box removed so it looks just like the online.

Hi Peter. Thanks for the reply.
I assumed that if I used the project style sheet during the export, Word would convert the style so that it looked the same as in the HTML. Is that a bad assumption? I'm currently not mapping to any template equivalent for these message box styles. I did try it as one of my attempts, but I couldn't figure it out. It never seemed to take the style in the .dot.
Anyway, if I use just 1 style, such as just the MsgBox, I obviously don't get the white paragraph between the title and message. That white paragraph comes from the first <p> tag in the MsgBox style. But I need to have the <p> tags in there because they're better for our localization process than line breaks.
I did do some tweaks that made it look better. Basically I structured it so that the MsgBoxTitle div is now inside the MsgBox div. Something like this:
    <div class="MsgBox">
        <div class="MsgBoxTitle">PC-DMIS MESSAGE: </div>
<p>Please do the following steps in the indicated order.</p>
        <p>1. Remove the current SH-1/2/3 stylus.</p>
<p>2. Attach the SHSP (Stylus Holder Setting Piece).</p>
<p>3. Jog the probe to a safe location with a clear line of approach
         to the port(s) being calibrated.</p>
        <p>4. Then click OK.</p>
<p>After you click OK the machine will begin DCC measurement.</p>
    </div>
And then I adjusted my styles borders, padding, and thickness. That helped it look more connected, but still doesn't look quite right:
Would love to get rid of that white space after the title.
If you have time, I would be interested in a more detailed example of how you did it.

  • Preview doesn't act the same as it did in Snow Leopard. So now how do I...?

    Hi all,
I'm getting frustrated because Preview doesn't act the same way now as it used to, and I can't find the solution in the Help menu.
Here's what I used to be able to do:
    1) I'm a composer/arranger for musical theater productions. So, as I compose or arrange individual songs, I eventually save them all as PDFs.
    2) To create a master piano/conductor's score, I used to create a master PDF file, then open up each individual song's PDF, and drag the pages into the master PDF file. Immediately after doing so, I was able to view the new pages in two-page mode, in the context of the whole book, to make sure the page turns were the way I planned them (since I often lay the music out with quick page turns in mind for the pianist/conductor). If for some reason the pages were opposite from what I planned, I just inserted a blank page before the newly-added song, to make the page turns work the way I needed them to.
    3) When I was done importing all the songs, I'd print out the whole score.
    My current problem
What I used to do (i.e., open up two documents, and drag the pages of one into the other) no longer works the way it used to. Now, Preview seems to view them as multiple separate documents, even though they're under the roof, so to speak, of one document. Let's say I drag 3 documents into the PDF I want to use as the master PDF. Let's say that each document is only a single page. I can't view them in two-page mode. I can select Two-Page mode in the menu, but it won't alter the view. Now, if document #1 is one page, and document #2 is five pages, I can view document #2 in two-page mode, but not document #1 and #2, together. (i.e., ideally, I'd want to see the one-page document #1 on the left-side in two-page mode, and the first page of document #2 on the right side.
Also, saving is a problem. It used to be that when I dragged the new pages into the document, I could just hit "save" and the new pages would be immediately included in the master PDF file. Now, Preview treats everything as separate documents, so I'll import document #5, let's say, hit "save" and it'll want to save the changes to "document #5."
The only workaround I've found for all this is to select all the pages in the master PDF and hit print, followed by saving as a new PDF.
But, do I have to do this on every addition?!? I have 40 songs, a Title Page and a Table of Contents that need to be imported into one PDF document. And they're not all ready to go right now. I was going to add a couple songs each day as I get them finalized and ready for print.
Isn't there a way to just add the new pages to the new document without Preview treating them as a collection of separate documents?
    Thanks for your help.
    Kevin

Thanks Barney! It is, indeed, working for me now. It's different than the previous incarnation of Preview, with no explanation of the differences in the Help menu (that I could find, that is).
    So, thanks for your help!
    Kevin

  • How do I make my animation look the same in different browsers?

    Hi!
When I play my animation in different browsers it don't look the same as in the preview. In IE some of the parts of the animation have disappeared and in Chrome the pats are no longer in their right places. See picture below.
How do I do to make the animations look the same in different browsers?
(In the end I want to use the animations in my captivate 8 project. )

    M

Ah, found the issue, the problem is with the name of the two images,
genomförande    (instead you can use genomforande)
Grå bakgrund     (instead you can use grabakgrund)
Seems like IE is having issue with those special characters.

  • Tryoing to play QVR. Works on a MAC with version 7. Doesn't work the same using Version 10.

Have some .mov files that work just find on my MAC that has QVR player version 7. When I try these same files on a MAC that was recently updated automatically and has QVR version 10, the .mov doesn't work the same way.  Is there a way to set parameters in version 120 to behave like version 7 or alternatively can I download version 7?

Mac OS X 10.6 includes QuickTime versions 10.0 and 7.6.3. The QuickTime 7 player will only be present if a QuickTime Pro key was present at the time of installation, or if specified as part of a custom install, or individually downloaded:

Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link  even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
(Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".)
A Mac OS X v10.6, OS X Lion, and OS X Mountain Lion-compatible version of QuickTime Player 7 is available for use with older media or with AppleScript-based workflows. QuickTime Player 7 can be used to playback formats such as QTVR, interactive QuickTime Movies, and MIDI files. Also, it supports QuickTime 7 Pro registration codes for access to QuickTime Pro functionality.
