My website has disappeared!

I created my first website and uploaded using FTP successfully. I then did the latest update for iWeb...I also loaded a CD with 2 iweb themes. Somewhere between uploading my website and loading the CD I have 'lost' my website. ie if I go to iweb I only get the the site with one of the themes from the CD.
I saved the website as I went - is there somewhere else to find it? As you can tell I am a Mac greeny but when it asked to save it I didn't see an option to 'save as' - so don't know where to look.
If I have to recreate it I will but I don't want this to happen again (and I only backed up on the day before I created the website as I have another problem with my Time Machine! Will deal with that once this is resolved!).
Any help would be great...

When I open the site (others have told me this also) the "welcome" page opens normally http://web.mac.com/artnsueadventures/Artand_SuesWeb/Welcome.html
but then when I try to open the chapter, Yellowstone to Mesa Verde, the text is there but all the photo's are missing. This is the case with all the following chapters, but not the first chapter "Merry Christmas" The text chapters seem OK.

  • Background for websites has disappeared.

    I don't know what I did, but I think that I installed something that I shouldn't have.
Any way, the background for websites has disappeared. I see only Links listed on the left of my page. I'm using Firefox now, and it works fine.
I've uninstalled Safari, and reinstalled it. And I get the same problem.
What should I do to get Safari working again?

    Hi,

  • Had to re-install Mac OS X- My iWeb website has disappeared

    Has anyone had this problem?
Today I had to reinstall my Mac OS 10.4.6 operating system. When I launched the also freshly installed iWeb application and logged in with my correct User ID and Password, my iWeb website did NOT appear.
The application screen is completely blank and almost every menu item is grayed out. There is no option to download pages from server, import or anything esle that seems like it could fix it.
I dragged the plist for iWeb from the old System folder Preferences file into the new one, hoping that would help. No deal. Does anyone know how I can get my freshly installed version of iWeb to see my previously posted website?? (I have a back up copy of the website files on my desktop, but don't know how to get them recognized by iWeb). Thanks!

    newposting,
    Has anyone had this problem?
Yes. Many people; you are not alone, by any means. Here's the problem:
iWeb can't edit html like other mainstream web apps. It keeps everything you put into the application, as you build, in a single file, called Domain.sites. This file lives on your hard drive here. When you are finished creating in iWeb and you use the Publish command, it's at that point that iWeb draws on the Domain file and other resources in the application, and writes the html.
Without this Domain file, you cannot access or edit work created in iWeb. Published files cannot be imported back into the application.
Backup this file frequently from now on. Varkgirl has given us a great little automator app which can be downloaded free here.
You can probably fix the greyed out menu options by launching iPhoto and, using the iWeb icon at the bottom of the window, send some pic media to iWeb. Sometimes it can take a number of tries.

  • My URL address bar has disappeared - I inadvertently clicked on something and it disappeared.  How do I get it back so I can type in a website?

My URL address bar has disappeared.  I inadvertently clicked on something and it just disappeared.  Now I have no address bar to type in a website address.  Can you please help me?

  • Published website has components that shift and disappear when browser scale changes.

    Hi everyone,
I am including a link of the published website, as well as including some screen shots of what the issue looks like from my point of view. Just as a pre-emptive note: I have had this problem before, and it has been solved by publishing an entirely new site. I re-saved the file to a new name, as well as published the site under a new name and continue to experience this issue. Also, nothing is extended to the edge (for that infinite browser width/length trick).
Thank you for any tips or assistance!

^ This is what the site looks like in Muse.

The word 'Practice' is missing from the top right of the page.
    Everything else is proportioned properly.

The word 'Practice' has reappeared, but the vertical line has disconnected (shifted downwards).

Text box at the bottom has turned into two lines of text.
The layers of this layout include:
Vertical line (1 px width rectangle)
Horizontal line (3 px width rectangle)
         Architects Group Practice text box
White rectangle OVER the bottom of the Architects Group Practice text box, UNDER the Vertical and Horizontal lines.
         Accordion panel
         Slideshow
         Contact info text box

    Update:
The text issue has been resolved, however, the line is still jumping around the site. It seems to be anchored in proportion to the bottom of the page for some reason.
I've also simplified the layout so there is no white rectangle.

  • The Safari address bar has disappeared how do I get it back?

The Safari web address bar has disappeared, how do I get it back?

Thanks Roger I can now see the name of the website and if I right click on the name it shows me the web address. I used to be able to see the web address e.g. "https//google.co.uk" in this bar without having to right click on the name, is there a way of bringing this back?

  • My ical data has disappeared

My ical data has disappeared on both my iPhone 5 and my desktop.  I have never used Time Machine and when I go there all it does is ask me to set it up.  Anyone help restore iCal data to previous settings?

Thank you.  You may have been right about the server glitch.  After hours, literally, on the phone with Support trying to load the calendar from my phone, and finally giving up, my calendar on the website was magically restored 24 hours later.
I'm guessing I'm not the only one this happened to, and that they restored to an earlier version for me and whomever else's data was lost.  Pretty scary, actually -- and annoying!
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Adobe Flash Player has Disappeared from my FF Add-ons & won't reinstall

Adobe Flash Player has Disappeared from my FF (version 4.0.1) Add-ons & won't reinstall. The Adobe Test page says that I've successfully installed the latest version (10.3.181.34) of Flash Player but after trying this 4 times, Flash just refuses to show up in my add-ons/plug-ins and now some websites are not working correctly. (Using a Win7 Home, 64-bit, SP 1 desktop.)

Because the are different products and load/use/display different types of files. You either have both installed because you have used websites that need one or the other, or you don't. Don't worry about why they are named the way they are named, that is Adobe's decision. Just accept the facts and go on with your life.

  • My Safari history tab has disappeared from my bookmarks.  How Can I retrieve it?

My History tab in Safari has disappeared from my bookmarks on my iPad 2.  Hw Can I retrieve it

There used to be a setting where you could set limits on the Safari history but those settings are gone now. IIRC, the settings were for 100 items, 150, 200 or something like that. It was a number of items in the history list and not a number of days. Since iOS a devices can sync bookmarks with Safari on your computer now, perhaps, that is where the history limit can be adjusted.
I am not a good judge of how long the history is retained because I erase my history and website data on a fairly regular basis. With the reading list feature and the ability to create a shortcut on the home screen for websites, I don't often find the need to go back to my history for weeks in the past.

  • PSE 7, with a PC:  The organizer content has disappeared

PSE7, with a PC?  The organizer content has disappeared and the folders have reverted to an earlier version.  It seems to coincide with my use of one of the organizer items, when I closed it after use.

Thanks.  You’re right.  I was in an empty catalog.

  • The @ icon above the trash has disappeared.

The @ spring like icon above the trash has disappeared. I was moving something to the trash and I fear I may have moved it down into the trash bin and now I can't find it. Please help!

Neil is right. That icon you accidentally deleted was an url icon. When clicked on your browser would open up and take you to the Apple website. You can bring the icon back just as Neil described. Once there, right mouse on the icon and 'Keep In Dock' should hold it in place.
