FYI: I wasn't being mean and I'm sorry if you took it that way. Asking for private help in a general disucssion forum is generally considered bad web ettiquette. Many people search these discussions hoping to find answers to their own questions. If you shephered people off group for a private consultation, the other community members can't benefit from your experience.
they gave us 2 hours of tute with dreamweaver and now i have to create a website worth 25% of my grade.
Perhaps your expectations are too high. Pros spend years learning web design. 2 hours of introductory DW training isn't much to go on. You're certainly not capable of building a Killer Website yet, so relax. Basic is good. And I'm sure your instructor knows and appreciates this.

I use an Akai usb turntable with the Audacity sw delivered with it. To monitor during recording I also use the LineIn utility (all this on a Macbook Pro with Mavericks).
It works fine, only the input volume of the usb audio port cannot be adjusted (at least I did not yet discover how to do it) and the volume of the music is lower than other music imported into iTunes from CD or iTunes store, but still acceptable.

What model iPad and what iOS version is it running?
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.0.4. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

How to Upgrade to iOS 7

There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
    1.    Go into the iPad's Settings.
    2.    Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
    3.    The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
    4.    Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
    5.    Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
    1.    If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
    2.    Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
    3.    After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
    4.    If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
    5.    After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
    6.    From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
    7.    After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
    8.    After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.

Hi there puppies!: I would go with iolo system Mechanic 12, Desktop Utilities either one will give keep your machine in excellent shape plus allow you to tweak Windows your way! & Desktop utilities can also change the Command Prompt colors from the staid stolid black background with white letters to any color that's represented in Windows as well
if you also need anything to do with HD partitioning & setup then Partition Commander is an excellent program for HD configuration

I have an iPhone 4 8gb and I have about 6gb other that is taking up space but I dont know what it is. What do I do?

I only have 300 pictures and 2 videos, only 50 songs, I always clear my data and cookies, and history on safari, and I always delete my texting and imessaging conversations, and I clear my calling history. I also redownloaded all my apps BUT I still have 6GB "other" that is taking up space and I don't know what it is and what to do to get more memory space since I only have an 8GB phone. Also I updated my phone to, I think verison iOS 6.0.1, about 4 or 5 months ago, and I think that's when I started getting so much of my memory taking up by "other". There is another software update iOS 6.1.3 but if I were to update would that take even more room? Or is that the solution? Because I can't really do much on ly phone because I don't have enough memory space. Please help me get more memory space on my phone. Well I am in my first year in college and am finally looking to get a macbook that I have always wanted. But I dont know what one to get. Ill be using it for school work, music and pictures, searching the web and traveling abroad.

I have a lot of pictures and i know I am going to be getting an external hardrive. But i am stuck between the 13 in new macbook air and the 15 in retina macbook. battery life is important but i want it to be really fast and just like a powerhorse. Had you mailed your MacBook in for just the random
shutdown issue? It seems bizarre that it has taken so
long, because I sent mine in for the same issue and
it took two weeks total turn around. Also, did they
give you any reason as to why it will take so long to
ship out your replacement?
My MacBook was initially sent in just for the random shutdown issue, but then I called them while it was getting repaired to request the new plastic, since that was becoming a public issue. I think the logic board was replaced by two weeks into the repair, but then it had to wait longer for plastic. When all of that was replaced, it failed the final testing and was going to take longer, but they offered a replacement.
I think my replacement is taking so long because it is a custom build (so that took about 3 business days) and then estimated shipping is always one week, so since yesterday it has been waiting to be shipped.
ARGH.
