My whole music store is in French!

Hi!
I've just updated my old iTunes and iPod to the newest version. But oh dear, the whole music store is in French and I can't understand anything. I want podcasts, English podcasts, goddamnit!
If anyone could explain to me how to change the language of the music store, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Not now, but thanks for the offer. I already know two

  • Music Store Canada loads in French only- getting p-o'd!!!

I've loaded and reloaded i-tunes. The account is in English, all of my preferences are seemingly set to English. But when I open the music store it consistently opens to Canada but in French. Please, someone tell me what I need to do before I... you get the point. Just really annoyed, I hate being forced into a language, would like the choice. Besides, they don't have the same music available and that *****.

I have a similar problem. As I am in Japan, my Music Store always appears in Japanese characters even though the itunes language setting is set for American English. If I change the country setting in the Music Store to the US or Canada it automatically resets the currency as well as the language. Also, I've heard that there is a problem with purchasing music outside of one's territory.
I considered going to the C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.Resources folder and deleting the Japanese language file, but many of my song titles are in Japanese. My fear is that these and titles in the store would then appear as garbled code.
Will deleting the language file only affect the tabs in the store, or the contents (album titles, etc.) as well? If necessary Japanese characters (like the yen symbol) disappeared, there'd be a bunch of page format problems, too.
    What do you think?

  • HT1848 I had my Iphone in sync with iTunes in my desktop PC. I had purchased musics from iTunes Store and musics I did transfer from original CDs (legacy ones). How can I recover my whole music assests on Iphone to my iTunes in my notebook PC ?

I had my Iphone in sync with iTunes in my desktop PC. I had purchased musics from iTunes Store and musics I did transfer from original CDs (legacy ones). I no longer have my CDs once I did donate it to a public library. How can I recover my whole music assests on Iphone to my iTunes in my notebook PC ? At this time I only know how to transfer Apple Store purchased items.

iTunes will only import music purchased from the iTunes store.  If you need to import music to iTunes from your phone that wasn't purchased from iTunes you will need to use 3rd party software to do so, such as Touch Copy.

  • Help with purchasing with from another country's Music Store

I'm trying to buy some song from the German iTunes Music Store but iTunes won't let me because my credit card isn't a German credit card. I don't see why this is a problem because the artist and Apple are still going to get money from my purcashe, just from a different country. Any suggestions on the best way to buy a song from the German Music Store?

its the record companies at fault companies like warner and emi in the uk dont want you to buy music from warner in the US or emi in germany as it is lost revenue to that business unit.. record companies are not benevolent suppliers of art they are capitalists and like to accrue money, the whole issue of the music lovers desire for global trading of music has long frustrated them and hence why hefty prices are paid for music imports.. this issue was what frustrated Apple's desire to produce the euro itunes store and the segmenting of the store by country was one of the things it had to do to get the labels to agree to let them have music to sell. The online music sales phenomenon has highlighted the despicable business tactics of the record labels and the EU are i believe investigating them and their shady practises....

  • Slow response from iTunes Music Store

This is a problem for a lot of iTunes Music Store customers. Many people have complained that they get "cannot connect to the Music Store" error messages. Apple replies that repairing the Keychain can fix the problem, but I and several others in various discussion forums find that doesn't help.
After upgrading to iTunes 6 and repairing my keychain, then restarting, I find that I can connect to the Music Store only after repeated attempts. I get the error message repeatedly, but if I keep trying enough times, I finally get through.
A similar problem happens when I try to preview or buy songs -- I get several error messages, then finally connect.
Using the Radio feature is similarly frustrating. I have to wait ten minutes or more after clicking on a genre to get a list of stations, and often I have to face a long wait with no error messages after selecting a station.
I don't have this problem when connecting to the Music Store from other computers, but I have no other problems connectin to the Web from Safari or Firefox, or with any e-mail program.
However, Apple's site seeems wonky -- lots of "document contains no data" when I click on forums or even to log in.
I am using an iMac G4 (the dome computer) with Mac OS X.2.8.
    Apple, what's the solution?

    You're not alone. Since Saturday I seem to be experiencing two problems;
1: The previews of tracks don't work properly - that is to say, they don't download correctly - I'm on 2Mb broadband and I've had to switch it into download the whole preview before playing due to it only playing 12 seconds of the 30 seconds if I leave it 'on the fly'
    2: I have repeated problems downloading tracks from the ITMS. THey get 50% of the way through then I get ;
"There was an error downloading your purchased music. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
After repeated retries I eventually get the track downloaded but it's painful.
Again - this has only started happening since Saturday (I've been using ITMS on my mac since it opened in the UK), and like I said I'm on 2Mbits/s broadband with no other issues.

    Bonjour, from France !
(not quite sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but didn't find any better forum...)
I'm a professional french music artist, and i am trying to understand how to proceed to sell some of my original tracks on iTunes music store.
Can anyone explain me how I am supposed to proceed ?
    Thanx !

  • Music store & 100% CPU usage

I've had this problem on my newly built computer, and my older machine. When I browse the iTunes music store, the status bar on the top will often move like it's opening the music store, but it'll do this for a long period of time (several minutes) and iTunes will work, but the music store will not load, and you cannot click the 'X' to stop the contacting of the music store. During this time if you open task manager, iTunes uses 100% of CPU resources. If you close iTunes it still uses 100%. you have to end the process in task manager in order to make it stop. On occasion the music store will work to view maybe one album, but if you search for another album, or click another link it'll do the whole not-responding-100% CPU usage cycle again.
All drivers are up to date and like I said it's done this on two seperate computers of mine on the same iTunes account. I also have a laptop and the music store works completely fine on it. It's only on my desktops that I have this issue.
Some specs on my machine if this will help
    Asus motherboard
    AMD Athlon XP 4000+ processor
2gb Kingston 184 pin DDR ram
Seagate SATA II 160 GB HD
Windows XP PRO service pack 2
    thanks for your help!

I'm only guessing here, but perhaps iTunes is having a conflict with another application. If you are anything like me you probably install your favourite applications on all your computers. As a shortcut to troubleshooting, perhaps consider an application you have installed on the desktops, but NOT on the laptop. Then try uninstalling that application from your desktop computer and test iTunes.

  • Music store onlt displays albums

    This has to be simple!
Used to be, I'd do a search in Music Store of, say "The Thrill is Gone," and after whirring awhile, dozens of versions of the song would appear in a list, on which I could click to purchase one or more.
Now if I do a search, I get the pictures of several albums in windws about the list area, but there isn't any list or any way to buy a single song - just whole albums.
How to I get back to the simple list of individual songs?

Hey, I am having the same problem...It just started up the other day and I can't figure out how to get it to display the list of available single songs. I also feel like the problem should be easy to fix, but have tried everything and still know nothing. Sorry I can't be of help, but wanted to at least let you know that you are not alone.

  • ITunes WiFi music store - Unable to Download Song

    Hi, All -
When I have tried to use the iTunes wifi music store off my home network connection it will seem to download, but it won't finish. I get a window saying "Unable to Download Song. This item will be available for download when you log in to the iTunes Store on your computer." Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of the whole wifi store. Why can't I download to my iPod Touch for instant gratification and enjoyment? Am I doing something incorrectly? Do I need to tweak the configuration.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

I had this a few hours ago downloading a whole album of 14 tracks. Eventually by "tapping to retry" all of them finished downloading. Some I had to tap at least half a dozen times to finish downloading. I have previously downloaded at least a couple of dozen tracks with no problem so I think this is a problem at the store (at least the UK store) at the moment.

  • Can a US resident purchase from a non-US Music Store?

When I (a US resident) attempt to purchase from the French or Italian Music Stores, I get the following message: "Your account is only valid for purchases in the US Music Store. Clicking OK will take you to this store."
    (1) Is there any way I can amend my account to permit purchases with a US-issued credit card from non-US iTunes music stores?
    (2) If not, please explain why, given that I can buy the same CD with the same credit card in France/Italy.
    Thanks.

Not directed toward you, StarDeb55, but the explanation offered in the linked document is nonsense. None of the content that I want to buy from the French/Italian stores is offered in the US store; if it were available I'd have bought it already.
What's more, I'm more than willing to pay 9,99 E for an album in the French store that, if it were offered in the US store, would customarily cost me only $9.99. Last time I looked 1 E = $1.19 or so.
So, in other words, I'm being denied the opportunity to overpay for an album.
    Makes perfect sense to me.

  • How can I download movie trailer from Music Store for iPod?

Movie trailers are produced to attract audience to see the film, so there shouldn't be any coryright issues. But why is it that I cannot copy and paste or download movie trailers from Music Store onto my iTunes and iPod? If Apple puts it on the Music Store, it expects people want to transfer it to their iPod. Sometimes just could not understand what these people think!

Thanks ALpinaoman, I am afraid things (and life in the world of Apple) are not as simple as you described it. First of all, some movie trailers - when they are played - do not have a little drop down menu arrow to the far right. Secondly, after transferring (i.e. saving) the movie trailer onto the iTunes on my iMac, only a few can be updated onto the iPod, most can't. The error message on the iMac is: "Some of the videos in you iTunes library, including the video "breakfastonpluto.ref" were not copied to the iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod. Click More Info to visit www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n301461 for more information on creating videos compatible with your iPod." What the xxxx is this ".ref" format? Why can't these stupid IT people sit down and agree on ONE format instead of MP4, MOV, AVi, WMV, asx etc etc etc.
I have used the video iPod for a month now and have all kinds of hurdles transferring video to the unit (easier for DVD, very difficult for VCD, got visual but no sound, etc etc). I have no idea how technically complex the whole thing was when I bought the iPod. I thought it was like recording your TV show on VCR which was low tech (well tech has advanced quite a bit since VCR was invented and tech was supposed to make life easier not more complicated). I guess I need to attend a one year training on computer engineering before I know how to use "user friendly" Apple products.

  • Music store freezes

    Hello all!
I am getting increasingly frustrated with the music store. At times it works well, I can purchase and download music, burn to CD, move songs back and forth off of my nano, update podcasts, no issue at all.
And then there are days like today when I go to open the music store and the access bar almost makes it across and then it stops. I can't access the music store. Period. I can do everything else in iTunes, I just cannot access the music store. It's like that portion of the software freezes.
If I restart my computer it usually works, but tonight I had to restart three times and still never got in.
I am connected to the internet - cable 24/7 access.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.
Dell Latitude D400   Windows XP Pro   Norton Antivirus

It could be anything stopping it from loading. Do you get any error messages when this happens? Usually the main things that stop access to the music store is firewalls, antivirus suites, ROuters, and internet triffic.
Try disabling firewalls and antivirus when you can't get thru and see if you can after disabling them. It could also be your ISP causing it. Most cabel setups you share with the whole neighborhood. could be just the houses on your street, could be the whole section of the city you live in. If you only get these problems at night, Id say its due to the heavy triffic from everyone being on it.

  • Failure to access music store via ovi player!!

Has anyone any idea how i get this system back online. In the Ovi player I click the Ovi Music tab, but only get the following message now.
We are very sorry but we cannot access the music store at this time
Please check your internet connection or try again later.
Worked fine up until the 23rd December.
    Thanks for all your support.
    MBK

I'm sorry but I get this almost every time myself and the whole service can't be trusted, I'd recommend just not using it whatsoever as it just can't cope with demand, as I was unable to download two albums I purchased either and this was because of the same error and neither the PC or mobile software seems to be able to cope with downloading from the service and I think the servers aren't able to cope.

  • Music store freezes at about 90% loaded

After reading some of the threads I realize that I too have a similar problem (music store frezes up).Whenever I exit itunes after trying to enter, I get a message window that Quicktime Handler is "not responding" I then have to log off before being able to enter Itunes again. It used to work sparratically but since wiping my computer out. It will not enter iTMS anymore. I have even gone as far as wiping out my computer, and reloading everything to start fresh. I have the latest version of I tunes and Quicktunes, and have tried with no firewall protection. To no avail. Any ideas?? I want to spend money as well, (on music not computer fixes.)

  • Certain iTunes Music Store songs cause iPod Shuffle to crash

Are people still having problems with certain songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store causing their iPod Shuffle to crash? I am!
The following threads deal with it, but they are now closed to posts:

The 3 songs I am having problems with are off Enya's Amarantine album (12 songs+3 videos):
    Long Long Journey
    Someone Said Goodbye
    Water Shows the Hidden Heart
(these 3 songs are not the videos on the album)
Is anybody else having problems with these songs, or others? iTunes Music Store support have not been able to resolve this issue for me yet.

Okay, I returned one of the shuffles, the one they sent as a replacement, and kept the original. I was told that they particular person I spoke with was not able to completely refund my money for the original shuffle. Perhaps if I had taken this farther, I would have gotten a full refund since there is obviously a defect with the product in the current state. I settled on keeping the shuffle, hoping that there might be a software update in the future to fix the problem, in addition to accepting a RAM upgrade to my Mac Mini for my trouble. I am satisfield but I think there is a bigger problem here thet needs to be addressed or Apple might find themselves with another unattractive class action lawsuit. It seems obvious that the shuffle is sensitive to the way certain songs are encoded that does not pose a problem for other iPods. This makes sense since the shuffle isn't even capable of playing the same abundance of codecs that the other iPods can play. I think the decoder used in the Shuffle or the software used has a problem that needs to be addressed.
I did take the three problem songs from the Enya album and burned them to CD and then ripped them back with the word "copy" at the end so they would not conflict with the original purchased songs. It worked perfectly! I'll keep any originals around to test as software updates become available in the future and if the problem gets fixed, I can just dump the ripped copies.
Hope you all work your problems out to your satisfaction, they were quite friendly about the whole thing.
