  • My macbook won't recognize that it is plugged in- will not charge

I have had my macbook for about a year or so, and this problem started last night. I had had it running on battery power until it was near empty, and I tried plugging it in and nothing happened- the light on the cord did not light, the charging icon did not appear on the screen, and the power continued to drain. I tried plugging the power cord into a different outlet, with no success. I went to a different floor in my house and plugged it in there, still nothing. The battery ran down to 0 and still it will not charge- do I need a new power cord?

My Macbook did the same thing. The adapter quit charging one morning. I bought a new magsafe from Apple, and after some "discussion" A new battery was also sent=Gratis.
Unfortunately, even after hours on the phone with tech support my laptop will not charge despite a new battery and a new adapter. I have of course followed to the letter all of the recommended software updates including power/management/memory/reset programming with the assistance of tech support. I reinstalled the operating system numerous times as well. My laptop won't charge since the day six months ago it suddenly failed. It was perfect until that moment. There MUST be an explanation, yes, the adapter sending grounded power perhaps, causing a .25 cent diode to fail. Sad that the circuit board was not gated for better protection from a short circuit.
Please let us know how's it going?

  • ADC/DAC 14Bit to 16Bit conversion

    Hi,
I am trying to understand how the signals are affected by the ADC and DAC, respectively, of the NI5641R. From the datasheets I know that both the ADC and the DAC support a 14Bit conversion. Now, from the ADC I receive 2 (I and Q) I16 values, so I guess the binary of these signals look something like 00xx'xxxx'xxxx'xxxx b.
For a first application I just want to have a NULL-Modem. Thus, those bits are directly sent to the DAC. But in some examples it is stated, that the I16 values need to be adapted to a 14Bit value by shifting the I16 by 2. If I do that with my value from the ADC my output signal would be something like 0000'xxxx'xxxx'xxxx b, which thus is NOT the same as my input singal. Or is there something wrong?
Another question which concerns the ADC and DAC is about their power levels: If I build a NULL-Modem and connect a signal with a power-level of -20dBm to the ADC, the signal on my FPGA has a level of -30dBm and after the DAC a level of -40dBm. Are the losses of 10dB in each stage normal?
    Thanks for the help.
    Kind regards
    Roman Gassmann

    Hi Roman,
Sorry for the delay in this reply, but I have been looking
over your code and believe I know the cause of the issue I was seeing and in
turn have shed some light on what you have been experiencing. I did see a drop
of about 10dB but only at lower AI spans at higher spans I saw no drop and also
no spurs. You did not mention any spurs in your previous post but when I used a
sine tone to test your VI I saw  images
equal in power to the fundamental. After tracking the cause of this down I believe
I know what is causing your issues. When you move from the ADC clock to the
RTSI clock you are not gating your FIFOs off of a data valid signal(read
inversed timeout). This is causing your FIFO to fill with zeros intertwined
with your data on some clock cycles essentially bringing every other sample
back to zero and creating a aliasing effect.
My suggestion is to use logic similar to the example below to ensure
that when you are crossing clock domains you are only writing valid data into a
FIFO, the false case only contains a false constant wired to the boolean output. I hope this clears things up let me know if you have any further
    questions.

  • IPhone 4 won't recognize that it is plugged in.

    Hello-
I have a iPhone 4 and it's a few months old. Yesterday morning I plugged it in and it charged.. everything was fine. I went to plug it in when it was around 9% and it wouldn't recognize that it was plugged in. So I tried different chargers, different sockets, wall vs USB... Nothing did it. I tired to hard reset, but the only thing that happens when I hold down the sleep and home button is the icon that says I need to plug it in to something. An Apple won't appear and I it won't reset.
I left it plugged into the wall outlet over night; still got no where and tried everything listed above. Perhaps it is the charge port? I am not sure..Any ideas on what to do next?
    Thanks!

    Dear Guru.......
Today morning our SD consultant trying to release the request form DEV but they are unable to do it.
I checked the same and realize that our usr folder has been removed from sharing..in all DEV TEST & PROD...
I traied for sharing through right click on the folder but not gating sharing option on that....
Request you to look in to this matter and give some idea how to resolve the same...
    Waiting for your replay ASAP.

    Dear Guru...
    Thanks for replay..
    I checked server services like saposcol,SAProuter ,SAPinstance_instanceNO & etc.......
    All are in started condition...

  • Gated check-in dialog box will not be displayed

    Hi
I created a Gated check-in build process. I would like the gated check-in dialog box that informs the developer that he needs to build his changes for validation will not appear and will be automatically approved.
    Is it possible?
    Thanks
    Rachel

    Hi Rachel,
As far as I know, seem it's not possible bu bypass the prompt window of gated check in. But it allows you to do batched gated builds. With batched gated build, you can specify a build definition to build more than one queued build at a time. Check this
blog for more information. Thanks for your understanding.

  • Strange!  Loops sound bizarre in Loop Browser - but not the original CD

    Hi,
Just bought Jazz Essentials from Beta Monkey Music... Apple Loops from a Third Party. I put in the CD - and dragged all the folders at once into the Apple Loops Browser. Took awhile to copy...
All the loops sound like they are going through a gated reverb or a delay - really bizarre - and not very pretty to listen to. Yet, when I listen to samples from the CD - no reverb - and no bizarre-ness.
Suggestions? I probably should drag one folder at a time - right? But, if so - how do I delete all these bad loops now?
    Thanks in advance!

You won't believe this - it's still not working!!!!
Still sounds bizarre - I did everything you said... thanks anyways...
    This is so strange!
There is a "full sample" with each new set of samples - in other words - the original 3 minutes sample that the smaller, cut up samples were taken from: these 'full' samples sound FINE... it's the cut up ones that sound strange as heck.
Remember - they sound fine on the CD... so odd.

  • Is there any way to force a PXI6115 to generate AI Start Trig on PFI0 but not actually trigger on it?

I am using a PXI chassis with 10 6115's and a 6608 counter/timer. I need to use analog triggering on one of the 6115 AI channels. The particular channel will depend on the test setup, so I can't just pick one and hard-wire it. This analog trigger will be the master timing reference for all of the boards.
However, I need to trigger the 6115's at different times (e.g., trigger three at the same time and seven at some later time) so I'm routing the AI Start Trigger from whichever is the trigger channel (one of the first 16 channels) to RTSI0. The first five counters are then GATEd on RTSI0 and the counter OUTs are hardwired to the 6115's PFI0s in groups of two. So,
basically, one of the 6115s sends AI Start Trigger to the five counters which, in turn, generate five delayed triggers that are sent to the 10 6115's.
My problem is that I can't use a zero delay on the counter, so I can't get the 6115s to trigger at the same time, if need be. Whichever one generats the analog trigger will always be slightly ahead of all of the others that I would like to trigger at the same time.
So my question is this: can I somehow force one of the 6115's to generate the AI Start Trigger across RTSI0 but not actually trigger itself until it gets the trigger back from the counter/timer? This way, the delay will still be there but all of the boards can get a simulataneous trigger if need be.
    Thanks,
    RGA

    RGA,
Unfortunately, I do not believe that it is possible for a DAQ board to generate an AI Start Trigger from an analog trigger, but not be triggered itself until it receives a digital trigger.

  • TS3112 I tried using sudo rm to get rid of remote desktops but the terminal responded as needing password and yet would not let me type in anything.  help please.

I tried to type in details but unable to do so.  we lived in a gated apt buildings in Hi with 24-hour security guards and cameras.  This false sense of security led us to foolishly leave the computer on all the time, not log off even when out shopping.  Never expect people would open our locks (three locks) and walked into our apt while we were out.  We have dishes, clothes and corning vision cookwares missing.  We have all our important docs including computer serial numbers.  We noticed our computer not respond and files and applications move around.  We know they are not done by themselves and looked into console log list.  The person who remotely logs or links with our computer thought that we are old folks and knew little about how to discover their act. Tried many times to get rid of it but was not successful.  Finally today we hauled our  imac to the apple store and explained the need to get rid of remote desktop.  All went well and we thought our computer is at a factory installed state.   We forgot to start firewall, probably did not disconnect third party help status (apple store third party).  Forgot to write down cable provider IP and resulted in using wi fi.  Look into system log list and other diagnostics messages and found an mac book pro and went back to see if I can write down the entire message but this time it went blank.  system log blank, library logs blank and /var/logs blank and so is user log.  Activity monitor froze would not open.  We had it clean up in apple store today november 18, 2013.  We have an Imac and don't know anyone who owns mac book pro with log message dated on oct 22.  The question is how it still hangs around after reset at the apple store and how to get rid of it and if it is possible?  greatly appreciated.

The Terminal is letting you type it in. It just doesn't display anything when you do.

  • Keyboard not working with xorg-server 1.6.1-1 or xkeyboard 1.5-1

    Hello!
I have a problem with a no working keyboard. It seems like this is a problem related to some of the latest xkeyboard-config or xorg-server versions. This have been a problem some time, but it have been solved by downgrading xkeyboard-config to v1.5-1 and xorg-server to v1.6.1-1.
I'm booting into runlevel 3. Keyboard is working in the terminal, but when I run startx, the keyboard stops working. The mouse works fine.
Have tested with an empty xorg.conf file. Then I get a 'no screen found' error. And I have tryed to enable the keyboard entry in xorg.conf. X starts, but no keyboard. Hal is running.
    Any ideas?

  • ATI Graphics card not detected on cold boot, works on warm boot

    Hi All,
I hope you can help me out with this.
    I'm using Radeon HD7850 with ATI-Catalyst.
The issue is, if I do a cold boot (physically turn off the power, turn back on) the system won't boot into X, only tty.
At this point, a reboot works fine.
Or if I don't turn off the power, just shutdown and reboot (warm boot), it works ok.
Here's the Xorg log on cold boot:

    Thanks for the reply!
The open source driver doesn't support my card yet. I tried installing it first since its the recommended driver, but Xorg couldn't detect any display at all.
It seems the PCI BusID is not being read from the xorg.conf file. There's auto detection everytime the PC boots.

  • CDC for Oracle in SQL 2012 not writing updates

    Hello...
I have set up a CDC for Oracle Service and Instance for use with SQL 2012.  After the instance was started, I inserted six rows of data into my Oracle table and a few minutes later, it looks like the changes were picked up by the service.
The instance status page contains the following information:
    Status = Green Checkmark
    Detailed Status = PROCESSING
    Last Transaction Timestamp = 7/22/2014 12:11:56 PM
    Last Change Timestamp = 7/22/2014 11:58:35 AM
Transaction Log Head Change Number = 0x0A2C1C...
Transaction Log Tail Change Number = 0x0A2C1C... (not the same value as the head)
    Current Change Number = 0x0A2C1C...
    Active Transactions = 1
    Staged Transactions = 0
    Completed Transactions = 0
    Written Changes = 0
    Read Changes = 6
It looks like the six rows have been read, but they are not being written to cdc.CDC_TEST_TABLE_CT on my SQL 2012 database.
I exported the diagnostic data using the "Collect Diagnostics" link, but there are no errors in the log.  Is there a primer for how to read the results of the diagnostics?
I had the following error earlier today:
"ORACDC517E:Oracle Call Intreface (OCI) method failed: ORA-01291: missing logfile
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOGMNR"
But that error was resolved when my Oracle account was granted DBA and "execute_catalog_role" permissions.
The account being used for the CDC Service and Instance has dbo rights on the SQL Server.
Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Arthur, thank you for responding.  I appreciate it! :)
I followed the instructions from Rakesh Parida's video on Technet.  Below are the individual steps I followed for creating the CDC Service and Instance.
    CDC Service Setup:
I made sure that supplemental logging was enabled on my Oracle server.  I also made sure that my Windows account had DBA and "execute_catalog_role" permissions on the Oracle database.
From the CDC Service Config MMC I ran Action>Prepare SQL Server which created the MSXDBCDC database.
I then ran Action>New Service and entered the following information:
    Service name: OracleCDCService1
Service Account: "This Account" radio button with my Windows username and password information
    Associated SQL Server: <My SQL 2012 Server>
    Authentication: Windows authentication
I also provided a CDC Service master password.
    CDC Instance Setup:
Connected to <My SQL 2012 Server> using the CDC Designer MMC
Went through the steps of creating the Oracle CDC Instance
Oracle CDC Instance Name = CDC_TEST_SOURCE
Connected to my Oracle DB using Windows authentication
Selected a single table that I wanted to try CDC on and left CDC Gating Role blank
Ran the Oracle Logging script that enables table logging and supplemental log groups on the Oracle DB
Ran the Status Check step and all passed
Finished the wizard and started the instance
A few minutes after the instance was started I added six records to the table in Oracle.
Please let me know if you need more info.
    Thanks!

  • Error Message: Not enough memory for operation.

    Hi All,
I'm having problem when try to connect to Oracle DB, check my details as below :
Connector : Microsoft ODBC for Oracle
Database Expert : Using Stored Procedure to populate data to excel.
    Server Used: DBCCSWST125.reportjobserver
Error Message: Not enough memory for operation
Problem occurred when I tried to use stored procedure in my rpt file.
    Thanks.

You are using multiple versions and it's still not clear what is happening but the CR 2008 reports should not be published to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI R2. CR 2008 has functionality that XI R3 does not support.
Create reports in CR XI R2 for BOE R2.
Also, your version of Enterprise has not been patched. You should have a Support contract which will allow you to get into our Gated site and update BOE. Then it may work but check with your administrators first before patching BOE.
    Thank you

  • How can one counter be sources (or gated) with the output of the other?

I'm trying to use the counters to generate a square pulse train that contains a certain number of pulses (on 6036E). For that I need to gate counter0 with the output of counter1. The manual seems to indicate that I need to use
    GPCTR_Change_Parameter (deviceNumber, ND_COUNTER_0, ND_GATE, ND_COUNTER_1) ,
however it makes no difference to the output; I see no gating. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something?
I would also like to source counter1 with the output of counter0. There's a similar function call to choose the source signal, but so far I've been unable to source a counter with anything but the internal timer.  I guess the reason for it might be the same as the gating problem.
    Petro

    Hi Petro-
This example shows how to output a finite gated pulse train on an E Series board.  It mentions that it is a CVI example, but the main .c file does not include any CVI-specific functionality so it should work if you're using ANSI C.
Equivalent functionality is available in NI-DAQmx for your board and is considerably more intuitive.  An example of pause-triggered pulse train generation is available in the "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\DAQmx ANSI C\Counter\Generate Pulse\Dig Pulse Train Cont-Pause Trig" directory of your local drive.  One method to generate the "pause trigger" pulse train is shown in "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\DAQmx ANSI C\Counter\Generate Pulse\Dig Pulse Train-Cont" .
I'm not sure what you mean when you say "I would also like to source counter1 with the output of counter0."  What do you need to perform this operation for?  The reliance of counter 1 on counter 0 and counter 0 on counter 1 creates a type of circular reference that is almost guaranteed to be problematic.
    Hopefully this helps-

  • Previously successful gated check-in build now fails within 10 seconds due to an UnauthorizedAccessException

I have a gated check-in that has been building and releasing successfully. We have a shelveset that we are trying to check in that builds locally for developers, and also builds locally on our build machine. However, when we try to queue a build we get an
UnauthorizedAccessException. Queuing the existing changeset without the shelveset does not throw this error, it builds and releases successfully. Does anybody know why this might happen?
Here is a screenshot of the build summary:

    Hi AusTha,
Thanks for the clarification. For the new issue, I'd like to know the reason that deployment started before drop folder is created. Also let us know if you have specific settings on your build definition, and whether the release template is different.
You can build the project and then do the deployment with the build output, but not trigger the build and deploy at a time. Then deploy the build output separately to check if the deployment works fine. You can also set logging verbosity to "Diagnostic"
in build definition to check the detailed log, also check deploy log to see if there any useful information.
The new qustion is different with the one in original post. You can create a new thread for the new question and elaborate the detials if you like.
