My wife and I have a iPhone 4S each and an I pad. When I send a email from my phone and from my iPad her name comes up as the sender. We only have one contact email address and that is the way we warn to keep it.
Please can someone tell me how I can change this so when I send a mail from my phone and from the IPad that it reads from me.

You need a separate email address but you've already ruled out that solution.

Unknown "from" email address when I compose new email
Hello,
Starting last night, I noticed that when I go to compose a new email, an unknown email address defaults into the "From" section of the new email. If I pull down on the unknown address, my real address is there, but not selected. I can select it manually.
I tried going to "Email Settings" and making my email address the default, but it keeps auto filling this unknown address into the "From" section of the email. The save is not sticking.
Does anyone know how to delete an email address once it is showing up in the "From" section?
Much appreciated.
P.S. I'm wondering if either my email or the Verizon system got hacked because this just happened from one moment to the next#1 In the e-mail UI, go to Mail under My Settings

Can't change the "from" address when I send an Email.
I have recently changed my email address but my iPhoto is still trying to use my old one. I thought I should be able to use the drop down to select the other address but only the old one shows. I have checked my Address Book, Email Accounts, and iPhoto Preferences. I can't seem to change my default email address anywhere so that my default reflects the new email account.
Has anyone seen this and better yet, fixed it? Any help is greatly appreciated.
RobThanks Eric. That did the trick. I must have looked through the preferences 4 times. I had deleted my old Mobile Me account out of there, but I didn't see the "Email" account. I deleted it and set up the iCloud account and it worked great.

How do I remove "lips" from my email header when I send an email?
Everytime I send an email through Mail, a pair of lips appears in the header bar. Can't work out how they got there and can't work out how to get rid of them. Anyone got any suggestions?
There are no lips in the email, so don't think that others are seeing it.
All that's happening is that Mail.app is looking in your address book for the address of the sender. If it finds a record it pulls that person's profile picture and displays it in the header.
So it's only something you're seeing - no one else is seeing it (unless they have the lips picture set as your profile picture in their address book ).
If you want to change the picture, just use Address Book to assign a different picture to your address book entry. -

First, ***** won't help you here. People here are users just like you and I, and as both of us, they like to be treated with respect. So, adding bad-word-like characters won't get you any faster or closer to your solution. And even if you don't want it, you got it. iCloud is here to stay and until Apple decides to change its cloud-based service name, we'll all have icloud.com e-mail addresses.
But as stated before, you didn't lose your @me.com address and you're not forced to use your icloud.com one.
Now, focusing on your problem, since you're annoyed because the @icloud.com address is listed in your "from" drop-down, you can simply remove it from there by:
1. Access iCloud web interface at www.icloud.com
2. Click the Mail icon (it's the blue one with an envelope in the middle. You can't miss it. )
3. On the top right corner of the next screen, you'll see a gear-like icon. Click it.
4. Click "Preferences"
5. Click "Composing"
6. In the "Send From" section, uncheck the address [email protected] (where "yourname" is your own iCloud username)
7. Click "Done"
8. You're done.
See? Problem solved. Now you can sleep tight not worrying about what Bad Apple tried to force down your throat.

My wife and I got Iphone 4S same day 2 years ago. I used the same Apple ID for both. We do not use iCloud, but today after I updated my phone to IOS7 I keep getting her texts on my phone ans vice versa. I turned off imessage in message settings. Seems to have stopped now? Never did this before IOS7. Will I have more troubble when her phone updates to IOS7? Is icloud going to be forced on me then?
This is being caused by using the same Apple ID for iMessage on both phones. To separate your messages, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and do one of the following:
Either uncheck the email address shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at" on both phones; or
If you want to continue to receive iMessages at this email address, on one of the two phones, tap the Apple ID at the top, sign out, then sign back in using a different Apple ID. -
I first thought the Ipad would be used by my wife so I set up her email account. She didn't use it that much so I did and set up my accounts and took her off. Now when I send an email it shows her address as the sending party (some of the time and I don't know why only some of the time) - how do I fix this

I am having trouble with my wife's new iPhone 5s. She can receive her telus email but can not send any email what did I do wrong in setting up her account on her iPhone? I tried to just copy the info from her old iPhone.
The sending of email is accomplished via the SMTP server. Take a moment to get back into Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars and select the account. Go to the SMTP server and check to make sure that username and password are entered in all of the appropriate places. If you cannot get it to work after trying to just change those settings, remove the account from the phone and recreate it. When recreating, make sure you enter the username and password in every location, even if the phone says optional. Make sure you have the settings from either the email provider or from the other device. Make sure that SSL is on or off as necessary.

Please note that this will only work for new conversations, and will also be affected if another iMessage user starts a conversation with you (ex. if a friend sent you a message to your phone number, you will still receive that on your Mac, and you will be replying from your phone number).

When I send an email from Mac Mail, why does Mail go to the background and the Finder comes to the front? I want it to stay in Mail.
Did you check your user name and password in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap your email account, tap SMTP, then tap the primary server name. Make sure the settings there are correct.

Can apple help me find my iPod touch 5g??? I have already reported it to the police and they haven't called back, i also have the find my iPhone app in it but I don't have the location thingy turned on so what else can I do to locate it pleazz help this iPod is relly valuable to me I had gotten it for Christmas and now I proved that I can't be trusted with it HELP :c
Police don't "track down" lost items, per se. They'll keep your information on file in the event that someone finds your iPod and turns it in. Otherwise, there's nothing the police can or will do in regards to finding lost property.
Sorry, but your iPod is most likely gone for good.

I have a Macbook, an iPad 2, and an iPhone 4. I also have iCloud on all three devices. For some reason I can not get new information from my contacts folder to transfer to the iPad or the iPhone. Never been a problem before.

Imap: google, hotmail, and more including icloud.
If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.
