My wifi and bluetooth on my iPhone 4 is no longer working.

in settings, wifi is grayed out, so i can't even select it, and when i select bluetooth it just keeps searching for it, no button to switch on or off. is this a hardware problem or a known issue with 4.3.5, and what can i do about it?
would hate to have to send it back in again...
thx!

Hey wifi bluetooth stopped working in my iphone 4s please need in serious help for it

    Well, a couple of things...
First off, noise gating is rarely--if ever--going to yield perfect results for the application you're suggesting.  I'm not just talking Audition--I'm talking every hardware or software noise gate I've ever used.  The change in ambience as the mic opens and closes, coupled with the inevitable clipping of the beginnings or ends of words makes it a not-very-good tool for voice recording.  I tend to use it for things drum kits with multiple mics but rarely for voice.
If I was you, before looking for an electronic solution, I'd be seeing what gains you can get with a physical re-arrangement of your recording set up.   Obviously, I don't know the details but things like adding a pop screen, moving the mic a bit farther from the desk, making sure the papers you shuffle are in the null of the mic, perhaps hanging something soft behind you to deaden reflections, etc. may pay bigger dividends than noise gating.
Having said all that, setting up a gate tends not to be something I do by numbers but, rather, adjust by ear and instinct.  Perhaps if you could post a brief sample of an untreated voice, we could have a play.  Alas, this forum doesn't support direct uploads of audio so you'll have to use one of the many services that allow you to post for downloading...things like Dropbox or Box.net.

  • Lost the ability to connect to both WiFi and Bluetooth on my iPhone 4S.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Lost the ability to connect to both WiFi and Bluetooth on my iPhone 4S.  Any suggestions on how to fix the problem?

    Have you followed http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559 ?
    Also try settings>general>reset>reset all settings
If you have followed that article and restored your phone and set it up as new and you're still having that issue you may call and explain you followed the article and are still having the problem. Most likely they will either set up a replacement for you. If they ask you to set up the one time phone support agreement, and they assist you with a restore again, they won't bill you if they end up having to repair it.

  • I loose WiFi and Bluetooth on my Iphone 4S

Thanks to help me to find a solution to repare the WIfI and Bluetooth on my IPhone 4 s bought in August 2012

First go to Settings > WiFi and turn off WiFi.
Next while in Settings turn off Bluetooth.
Now re-boot the iPhone by holding the on/off button and the Home button at the same time. Hold them both down until you see the white Apple logo appear.
When the phone re-boots go back into Settings and enable WiFi and then Bluetooth.
    Good Luck

    Hello, lustige luka.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The Personal Hotspot feature using USB  should be as simple as connecting the device to your Mac via the USB cable when Hotspot is enabled.  Here is some more information regarding this feature and an article that will provide some troubleshooting steps if you are experiencing an issue.

  • IOS 8.1.2 breaks Wifi and Bluetooth on iPhone 4s

Since I upgraded my iPhone 4s to IOS 8.1.2, i am unable to use wifi or bluetooth.
My wifi button is greyed out and I cannot turn it on.
Bluetooth will just display a spinning wheel when i turn it on.
I have tried resetting network settings twice, multiple re-boots/re-sets. Toggling Airplane mode. Turning off iCloud. All to no avail.
Just to be clear, this is not an intermittent issue or a slowdown or anything like that.
IOS 8.1.2 has completely disabled wifi and bluetooth.
Anyone else having these problems or got a resolution?

Yes, but first time in the several years to have a problem. Using Outlook on Mac with MS Exchange Server. I have Exchange set up on both iPhone and iPad. Talked to IT and they are making sure MS Exchange Server is fully updated tonight.

  • IOS 7 on iPhone 4S WiFi and Bluetooth greyed out.  Help!

I upgraded to iOS 7 last night.  WiFi and bluetooth were working fine.  When I woke up today, the WiFi toggle in settings was greyed out and the bluetooth toggle was missing and kept showing the "waiting wheel".  Help!!!!!

All done now - the issue is with the WiFi chip - and when you update IOS it checks all components out to see if they are working correctly, then shuts them down if they are not.
It is a hardware failure, and is pretty common with iphone 4S.... If your phone is over 12 months (and you didn't take out extended warranty) you have the pleasure of paying Apple £139 for a 'remanufactured' phone with 3 months warranty.
Nothing like my expectation for a premium product (with a premium price tag) - its a component durability issue, nothing to do with the user, an Apple component fault. However forget it if you think it is Apple's problem, if it is out of warranty, they aren't interested. My love affair with Apple products is over, google products here I come...
    Rant over....

  • IPhone Wifi and Bluetooth interference when used simultaneously

I am presently using AirFoiI to stream audio from my PC to my iPhone. AirFoil uses the same protocols as AirPlay. AirFoil/AirPlay streams an Alac audio codec using a bandwith of 1,50 Mbs on average irrespective of the audio codec and bit rate of the source file.
The audio stream received on my iPhone through WiFi is send over simultaneously to my Bluetooth speaker.
When using AirFoil/AirPlay, I regularly hear distortions at the beginning of a track and also randomly when a track is playing. The distortions are a lot more when I move the iPhone around.  I am almost 100% sure that these sound distortions are because of Bluetooth interference on the iPhone itself when simultaneously receiving an audio stream from AirFoil/AirPlay and sending an audio stream over bluetooth to my speaker.
I also have done some tests using "Net Meter" and "TCP-view" from Sysinternals on my Windows 7 PC.  On "Net Meter" I have never seen any WiFi drop outs or distortions regarding my home network.
My bluetooth speaker supports the A2DP AAC audio codec. This was an important feature for me before I bought the device because the AAC audio codec provides normally a relatively good audio quality over Bluetooth. At the time it did not occur to me that there might be a possible Bluetooth interference coming from my iPhone itself. I presumed that the Bluetooth on the iPhone would use a 2,4 Ghz RF channel not in use by WiFi so that WiFi and Bluetooth used on the same device simultaneously could never distort each other. I was clearly wrong.  Put shortly, the problems I encounter are presumably solely caused by the firmware/software on my iPhone. I hope this will eventually be resolved with some future iOs 8 updates. There were indeed many people having Bluetooth issues since iOs 8.
I know the best solution would be to wire my speaker optically with an AirPort Express or an Apple TV.  I have not yet decided between the two.
Even when there exists a "wired" solution, I think an expensive device such as an iPhone should be able to make sure that there is never interference between WiFi and Bluetooth when used simultaneously on the SAME device/iPhone.
I hope that some specialists will give their views on my "nonprofessional" analysis and some more in-depth information.

    Now will this work:
Airport extreme set to BOTH frequencies and my older wifi stuff like Iphone and printer will automatically connect via 2.4GHz and Macbook will connect to 5GHz so that it will not longe be disruppted by bluetooth?
Unfortunately, no one can predict exactly what will happen in advance with wireless and interference issues. Your chances will improve, though. It might be a good idea to understand the store's return policy before you buy.
What if the Macbook will not connect automatically to the 5Ghz network because the 2.4 stream may be slightly stronger. Is there a way to force macbook to connect to 5Ghz?
Yes, use the option to assign a separate wireless network name to the 5 GHz band, and then "point" your MacBook to that network.  The other 2.4 GHz devices will connect to the 2.4 GHz band.

  • IPhone original Wifi and Bluetooth deactivated?

Ok, so I bought a new 3G and my original iPhone was deactivated, but still worked in every other way besides 'phone', so I gave it to my girlfriend to use as just an iPod Touch right now (she's going to get it activated in about a week with AT&T), but for some reasons in the settings, WiFi and Bluetooth are disabled. Bluetooth isn't that big of a deal, but it'd be nice if she could use WiFi. I'm not sure if the SIM card would have to be activated for this feature to be available or not, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have to be. Does anyone know why it would be like this?

    No. It's not.
I remember right after I completely reset it, it asked me if I wanted to join my WiFi, and I just said no (since I was giving the phone to her), but now that she has it, the option is completely disabled.

  • Wifi and bluetooth doesn't work on my iphone 4s

Wifi and bluetooth doesn't work on my iphone 4s ios 6.1.2 since 1 month! Please help

    Hi!
I had the same problem, after trying all resets and sugestions the problem persisted.
I took it to my carrier and they done their own test and gave me a new iPhone. Simple.
    Problem solved!
If your Iphone is under warranty don't worry about it. But try a hard reset.
    Good luck!

  • IPhone 3Gs Network, Wifi And Bluetooth Off On 4.3.3

Hi, it was two days (so from yesterday) that I have big issues with my iPhone 3Gs with iOS 4.3.3. It not have falls, so I don't think it's hardware problems, because it seems that all the connectivity modules restart. Network (3G or 2G), Wifi And Bluetooth seems to be off and again on, and repeats. First I try to restart, but nothing is fixed. Then I try to restore and insert backup, restore on DFU and insert again the apps, but this afternoon it restart the problems, and restarts itself two times. It strange because I see that the "Personal Hotspot" appears together with this issues. I posted images for explain better (the time is different because is not easy to shot the moment of the restart of the modules. I want to remak that since yesterday morning I never have this problems.

ind my iphone is turned on turn this off and  wifi will come on again also do a network reset after this then you can turn FIND my iphone on again  job done
Complete nonsense.  Find My iPhone has nothing to do with the grayed out wifi issue which you clearly don't understand - tuning it on and off does nothing.
    ya donkey
    Your post is donkey excrement

  • HT6154 iOS 7 and iPhone 4S - I lost my WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities last September with the new OS, and I THOUGHT it was actually fixed this morning with the latest release - my WiFi AND Bluetooth actually worked....for about 5 minutes, but no longer

I thought this latest OS release had fixed my WiFi and Bluetooth problem, but I was excited for only a minute!  I actually was able to connect to my WiFi at home and paired my Bluetooth to my car - but after a few minutes, the Bluetooth automatically turned off and the WiFi no longer worked.  Is there a FIX to this???  I know it's the OS that disabled them and I'm not paying $500 for a new phone when my upgrade is not availbe for another six months!!!!

My iPhone 4S did once again did  lose it's wifi connection after running perfectly for about 8 weeks.
I was streaming Pandora Radio via bluetooth connection at the time, ( not sure if that has anything to do with why the wifi dropped out again, but I thought I'd mention it anyway)
But!.... I was able to get everything up and running perfectly again by simply grabing my girlfriend's hair dyer heated it up again for about 5 - 7 minutes ( the over heated message even appeared this time) then powered it off, warped it in a plastic bag, stuck it back in the freezer for 15 minutes, took it out of the freezer, powered it back on, and Abracadabra it works perfectly again!!!
Phone has been running perfectly AGAIN for about a week now.
One strange thing this time after fixing it for a second time is that the the little WiFi symbol no longer shows at the top of the screen, but the wifi connection and everything IS RUNNING PERFECTLY!
If all I've got to do once in a while, is spend about 20 minutes with a hairdryer and a freezer to keep my iPhone 4S running perfectly.....well I'm as happy as a pig in s*** :-)
And please no comments about how I have now voided my apple support etc. I never had any to begin with  (it's a 2nd hand phone and  I really  couldn't care less about warranty issues etc etc etc..... The phone works, and that's all that matters to me!
