My wifi hotspot on my iPad can't be used. Does it have something to do with the device?
I try to use my iPad hotspot on my android device. I managed to connect to it once using wifi hotspot. And now, everytime I try to reconnect. It won't work.
1: Backup your user files folders of Documents, Music, Pictures etc., to a external powered drive (not TimeMachine) and disconnect.
2: Insert the 10.6 installer disk and reboot holding c
3: Simply reinstall OS X without erasing the drive, it will overwrite the installed version of OS X and the root level software, but leave your Applications folder contents (expect Apple bundled programs) and user files alone. (but backup anyway in case it fails)
4: Reboot and the Integro is gone out of your system, but there may still be something laying around in Applicaitons to delete. Use Software Update to get up to date.
5: You don't need anti-virus on a Mac, Apple provides it already for you sight unseen.
6: If you Software update, the bad certificate issues are pulled, thus are not a threat.

My iPad screen has gone black. I have tried resetting it with the sleep and home buttons and it only flashes the apple on the screen for a nano second and then it goes black again. I can even hear notifications arriving, but I cannot see anything...I'd rather not reset it to the factory settings as I have a lot of things I worry about using. I have an ipod nano 7th generation and can not get it recognised by my Windows 8.1 laptop (it appears briefly on My computer, then disappears). This happened after I updated iTunes to the latest version. Does that have something to do with it?

My ipod is disabled and the message requests to try again in 223004 minutes. I think it might have something to do with the date being set wrong before it went into disabled mode. Can you assist in enabling.
You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it. If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.

So you have tried connecting to open network that do not require a password and it was still unable to connect? If that is the case.
Does Wifi appear grayed out on your iPod via Settings -> Wi-fi?

Lately my internet usage is up to the roof. I though somebody was hacking my wireless router so I made it super safe with lots of restrictions.
But that didn't stop the download of stuff over my wireless network. When I monitor who or what is using my wirelss, only my iPad was on, so, the moment I turn the wifi off on my ipad, the download stop. Turn it back on, it goes like crazy sucking up data off my wireless router for no reason. There is no indicator that the iPad is using the wireless yet, it is my iPad downloading things that I can't even seen, it does even with smart cover on!!!!. It's been over 50GB in only three days. I don't even have that amount of data on iCloud. This began a few days later after I upgraded my iOS to 6. But also, I'm thinking it could be an app that I installed. Or is it possible someone can use my iPad as a middle point to access my router and steal my internet. I have restored the OS on the iPad and it keeps doing it. Anyone has experienced something similar?I'm going to guess that your battery life is also not so hot. What I suspect is happening is thatbthe pad is locked into an update loop with I cloud. As an example, if you have addresses that do not agree, the cloud back up will continue to try and correct itself, using both battery and wifi ( or cell). It may also be an app trying to uzpdate itself.
To troubleshot, try turning thigs off. If you are using the cloud, turn off all syncing and see it the problem stops. Then turn them back on, one by one, until you find the culprit. If it is an app, it may be harder to find, but the steps are the same. Turn off all notifications, and uninstall anything you added around the time the problem started.
A frequent culprit is magazine, comic, and newspaper subscriptions, that are constantly trying to update themselves.
Keep looking, you will find it. -

Apple still has your mobile phone number associated to the iMessages account. Normally this wouldn't be a problem as iMessages will failover to an SMS if they were not recieved but if you have an iPad still recieving messages for that phone number it won't fail.
The fix is easy... just go into your Settings on the iPad and remove your phone number from iMessages. It is under the Send & Recieve option. -
Have 5s, just recently I can't change songs on my bluetooth devices, in car, beats, will not change songs. I can listen to them but only change with the phone
If you are completely confident that you didn't hide it, then you purchased those with different apple id. If you completely confident that you purchases with same apple id then you have hidden it. One of the other or you are speaking about a miracle. While miracles are possible they are not very likely. Remember

My guess is that your router is not handling DNS forwarding correctly.
Can you do an IPCONFIG /ALL from a command prompt and post the response?
Also, go into PowerShell and enter the following:
Get-ItemProperty -path hklm:\system\CurrentControlSet\services\dns\parameters
Post the response.

I installed 10.6.8 from 10.6.6 OS on my MacBook Pro and have not been able to open secure sites on Safari. Think it has something to do with the Intego Anti-virus installed. Tried restoring Intego to default status and now my Mac barely boots up and does nothing else but spin. Ugh. Has anyone had similar issues and if so, were you able to resolve? How? Thanks,

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
* If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

I have an iMac, operating system 10.7.4 with up to date software. My mail application is rejecting my password even though I know I am putting it in correctly. I have an ipad and iphone and the mail application is working fine on them. On my desktop however I cannot receive or send mail. I think it must be something to do with the settings but cannot work out what. I have contacted BT who provides my email and internet. As I have another email address with them that is working correctly they believe it is a problem with mail rather than with them. Please can you help?

Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over. See if there are duplicates, should be one for Incoming & one for Outgoing.

I am trying to personal hotspot but each time I go into it and tune it on the screen goes back to the Settings page and personal hotspot has disappeared and can not be found. I have tried restarting the phone and also a factory restore to no avail. HELP

Question to all the pros..I'm looking to purchase an iPad 4g second hand. Once the "seller" resets the iPad for me to use, do I have to get it re-activated or purchase a contract/service plan if I ONLY ever plan to use the iPad for Wifi Only???
No you don't need a service plan to use wifi. Take special precautions to make sure the seller is the owner. Be sure all their information has been removed properly. If it were me I wouldn't give the person the money until the iPad is registered in my name. I've read too many horror stories of people buying iPads they'll never be able to use because someone else's ID was still on it.
