My wifi only works when i put my 4s in the refrigarator
hey guys
i bought my iphone 4s about 4 months ago, and about month ago when i came back from camping i turned on my iphone wich was turned of for about 5 days (at home in my drawer). i had 9 updates listed on the app store and let them update all off them at the same time. meanwhile i was also on a Viber call.(using wifi) then after 10 minutes or so the call died.the wifi could not connect anymore and later the wifi option turned grey and could not be turned on or off.
i reset the iphone , and also rebooted the device . still the wifi option remained grey.
during this period after, the iphone also was turning very hot at times and the battery could not hold longer then 4 hours.
about 2 weeks after the wifi option turned grey, one morning when i got up i realised that my battery percentage was still high(usually if i went to bed with 100% , it was about 50%or so when i got up.). then i went to the wifi option and realised that i could turn it on.it got connected to the wifi and check if it was working by opening facebook. i was functioning normally as if nothing had happened.
i remember that night was really cold and i had my airconditioning on .
that same day i realised the wifi could not stay connected for long to wifi .
the battery issue remained normal
when the wifi cant connect i put the iphone in the refrigarator for about ten minutes. and when i take it out the wifi works again
after that the wifi can hold for about an 2 or more depending on what i do on my phone.
i did no try to take it for repair , not yet
i just want to know if im the only one with this problem and what the problem really is.
and if putting youre iphone in the refrigarator can do damage.

It is a known issue and un-conventional remedy.
It is Hardware failure. I would get the iPhone changed for a good one.

Problem with iPhone 5: Wifi Only Works When Close to Wifi Router
I've recently updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 6.0.2. I am actually having a problem with the wifi connection. In which, I can only uses the wifi when I'm close to the wifi router.It seems when I'm further than about 2/3 meters away from the router I get no connection, and then sometimes (not often) I get it and then it goes again.
Any suggestion on how to fix that?
Thanks.Having exactly the same issue, WiFi on 6.0.1 worked fine for me. Now I have to be sat next to the router. I've tried forgetting the newtworks and joining them again and no joy. I had 4 known networks and none of them work. Will there be an update for this? 6.0.3? Or are we stuck with it?

Preface: Everything was working fine on iOS 7.0.4
Issue: Wifi will connect to access points, but can't surf/browse/download apps/etc...
Literally just updated my phone from iOS 7.0.4 to 7.1.2
When I look at the network settings all the information (IP, subnet, gateway, dns) are fine. However, I can't do anything on the network/internet.
I had tried "forgetting the network", "resetting the network settings", restored the device, and even about 4 DFU restores. NOTHING helped. Same results every time. Could join a network, got good network settings, but couldn't do anything on the network.
For fun I decided to switch my network settings to static and it suddenly starts working. It's busy downloading all my apps - but once that is done I'm going to set it back to the same dynamic settings I was getting to see if it still works. (So static, but with the numbers I had when I was on dynamic)
When I was on iOS 7.0.4 it was set to dynamic, so there is no way this can be a hardware issue.
Any suggestions? Perhaps iOS 7.1.3?

Why does my audio only work when i put water on the audio plug?
whenever i want to listen to music, i have to put water, or some liquid on the TRS (audio plug for earphones) for it to work. It will not detect an earphone without water. There is NOTHING wrong with my earphones, they work in other things without water. They are iFrogz. I need help really bad because i dont want to carry a water bottle on the bus and dip my cord in it JUST to listen to music. It is really annoying
Ipod Nano 7g BlueIt sounds like a hardware problem, so it's probably not something that can be solved without repair (or replacement). There may be a fault in the headphones jack that affects contact with headphones plug. Water is an electrical conductor, so it improves the connection enough so it works temporarily. That's my theory... But because water is an electrical conductor, it can cause a short circuit that may damage the iPod. That's why the warranty is voided if you accidentally get your iPod wet.

Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Reset network settings:Settings>General>Reet>Reset Network Settings.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Why does it take hours to pick up the 3G network whenever I've been using only wifi for an extended period (several weeks)?
Once it does pick up the 3G, it switches between wifi and cellular pretty much seamlessly until I go home and switch off the 3G for several weeks. This pattern has repeated several times in different cities across the US. It doesn't sound like a reception problem or something wrong with the sim.

I have changed my account to SIM only and when I put my new SIM Card into my iPhone 4 it just says 'no service' in the top left corner, also iMessage has stopped working too. I can only use my phone on my WiFi at the moment, does anyone have any idea?
I already have, I contacted Orange yesterday and they said I will receive a text to confirm the registrastion for my new SIM Card, they said the text would arrive between 2 and 24 hours and its been over 24 hours with no text recieved

First reboot your router. If the problem doesn't resolve update the firmware in your router to the latest version. And if that fails go to Settings/General/Reset - Reset Network Settings.
If the problem occurs on all networks, and not just your home network, exchange the phone at an Apple store. If it is just your home network it most likely is a router problem or interference from other networks or other devices such as cordless phones. -
Does Siri only work when connected to WiFi
Does Siri only work when you are connected to a Wifi? Mine does not seem to work through the 4G cell network.
It works over WiFi or cellular.
If you are using 4G cell network, are you using something like a Verizon MiFi 4510L to create a hotspot that your iPhone 4S is using?
There are other issues with Siri that are going on - perhaps that is what you are seeing? -

Try typing random stuff, eg aaasjddjfndirinfekdnkedindor , into the text box, then delete everything using the x-arrow on the keyboard. It should work now. If not, repeat the process again and again. It's because it needs to send the signal to the other recipient(without him really knowing it, this is to check that he can see when you are typing, you know, the "…" bubble), then check that you have 3G at good speed, then enables iMessage. It works for me this way...hope it does for you too (:
