    Hello,
I see that you posting from India. I had this same problem a few months ago when I was out of the US. The iPhone can recognize wireless networks that are broadcasting on a broader range of wireless channels than my MacBook Pro. I was in France and my iPhone would connect to the wireless network but my MacBook would not even detect it. This was because the wireless network was broadcasting on channel 13. This is a normal channel in many parts of the world but we are not allowed to use this channel in the US. My MacBook can only connect to networks broadcasting on channels 1 through 11 on a 2.4GHz network. Try checking your router to see what channel it is broadcasting on and change it to a channel between 1 and 11 and see if that helps

  • Wireless adapter not detected on T520 4240-4au

I just purchased a Thinkpad t520 and have installed Win 7 Enterprise on it.
    - Ive tried reinstalling the drivers
    - Ive turned wireless switch on the side on and off and tried fn-f5
    - In the device manager I see a Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6205 and the newest drivers are installed. Ive disabled it and enabled it.
    - In the BIOS Config->Network-> I only have two options 1) Wake on LAN and 2)Ethernet LAN Option ROM
    - When I run the Intel PROset/Wireless tools and run the diagnostic tool, the hardware, radio, scan, assoication, authentication, signal, ping tests all fail. The only test that is successful is the driver test.
Is there anything else that im not doing where I can enable the adapter? Is it possible I got a faulty adapter from the factory? I do have bitlocker turned on which is a company policy, but I cant see that being the issue. I never tried to use wireless on this laptop until today. Thanks for any help.

    That's weird ...
    - hardware switch on
    - FN + F5 on for WLAN
    - BIOS I/O ports WLAN on
    - Device manager showing WLAN adapter.
All of this should enable WLAN to work. hmmm ... Have you tried using Access Connections? Any error showing there?
Try uninstalling Hotkeys, Lenovo Power Manager and Power Management driver ... then reboot then install all 3 again then enable it using Fn+ F5 keys and see if it helps.
If problem still persist, try doing a R&R to the default factory OS and see if is really a hardware issue. If in factory OS and still fails then you might want to contact support for a hardware check.
Alternatively, you can try using zoltan's suggestion to boot OS using Ubuntu disc and see if the OS is casing the problem.
see Zoltan's post on UBuntu below.

  • T500 - Internet Wireless Adapter Not Detected

I am at a loss right now since I have never encountered a problem with a computer that I couldn't solve at all. On my T500 (2081CTO), I had an XP OS and everything was working fine (almost). I decided to install the original Vista that came with it and at the same time updated the BIOS to the latest version, I think 3.18, before I installed Visa Home Basic. After the install, there is no wireless adapter deteced. I can't get any internet without a cable. Here is everything I have tried already:
    Install all Vista OS updates
    Run Lenovo System Update
Install standalone Wireless drivers from Lenovo directly
    Resintall the drivers
Physically remove, clean, and re-insert the wireless adapter
Check settings in BIOS to make sure all wireless devices are enabled
Disable and then re-enable wireless LAN/WiMax in BIOS
    Clear CMOS
I don't know what else to do, besides some costly and time consuming options, like reinstalling XP instead, getting a new adapter, or paying someone to fix my own computer.
    Here are some additional clues:
Under device manager, only Intel 82567LM Gigabit Network Controller is listed under "Network Adapters"
There is "Other devices" under which there is "Network Controller" with an excalamation mark. I have been unable to install the dirvers for it
Finally, I do not have Lenovo recovery disks and had to install Vista from a downloaded version online. At the end of the install is asked me to install drivers, which I thought sounded weird, and chose not to. If I have to pay $30 to get a replacment disk for something I already own, I'd rather buy Windows 7.
So this is my dilemma and I am not sure exactly where my problem is. I would appreciate any help or insight.

You probably just need to download & install the drivers for the WiFi card... (You probably also need the drivers for some other devices as well, such as AMT and Card Reader, IIRC) You can get them on the Lenovo Driver download page, http://support.lenovo.com - (Drivers & Downloads) just put your MT/M number (from a label on the bottom of the laptop) in the "QuickPath" Product selector... (If you can't find the MT/M just put T500 in.) Then look for Wireless LAN drivers... If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest getting a copy of the Windows 7 Pro Recovery discs for the laptop and THEN install the afore mentioned drivers... Feel free to send me an e-mail if you have further questions about this... Just remove the spaces, change ATsymbol to @  and change DOTsymbol to . mkingsmill ATsymbol gmail DOTsymbol com I will do my best to reply on the forum for all to see (thus helping others who may also be researching solutions to this issue)

  • Windows 7 will not detect the wireless adapter on my Dell D610 laptop

Windows 7 will not detect the wireless adapter on my Dell D610 laptop
    Any workaround?

hey guys.... i believe i have some light for you all. I gave my daughter a D610 which came pre-installed with Linux (ubuntu). She did not like it so i loaded windows 7 and guess what? no wifi.
Unknown Device listed on device manager. to make the story short, after almost returning the laptop and spending 2 days looking for drivers everywhere I decided to reload Ubuntu because the wifi always worked. Then going a little deeper inside linux hardware
specs I listed all the hardware using the command lshw from linux shell and what shows up as wifi interface? Atheros AR5001x.
Problem was almost solved. The adventure now was find the driver for Atheros AR5001x that worked for windows 7. And now just to finish this story even faster, the diver is xp32-5.1.1.9.
Unfortunately after downloading the driver I did not save the website. I have the file with me if you need.
Just send me a message and i will be more than happy to email it to you.
    Happy New Year for all!!!!

  • Wireless adapter not showing any available networks

I've recently discovered that my Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 wireless adapter in my Asus Zenbook UX32VD running Windows 7 64 bit is not working as it won't show any available networks while my phone can find plenty in the same area.
    So far I've:
-Re-installed the driver. Before I did this the adapter wouldn't even show when trying to change adapter settings. When I looked at the adapter in device manager I found an error code 52 which disappeared after I re-installed the driver.
-Re-installed the client for windows networks installed for the adapter which did not make a difference.
-Temporarily turned off my AVG-free anti-virus which did not make a difference.
When looking at the adapter after clicking change adapter settings in the networks and sharing center it says it's not connected, but as stated above it doesn't show any networks to connect to.
Also, when I try to use the networks diagnostics tool I get the following error message:
    Windows cannot find
    '::{26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB06...\resultPage?keywords=+Network;NetworkDiagnostics'.
Make sure you typed the name correctly, and the try again.
Any possibly solutions I've not already tried are welcome. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi,
Locate to Services and check all services relating to wireless and network are enabled: Wireless Zero Configuration and WLAN AutoConfig, etc.
Also, make sure your NIC is working correctly from device manager.

You really have to mess with the resoluton, espescially the refresh rate, as it varies from projector to projector, monitor to monitor. Even within the same brand! Because so many manufacturers are trying so many different things to become the next cool kid on the block, and the way the formats are being configured that's now part of the game.
That's why so many professionally produced corporate shows hire a dedicated projectionist for the video presentations. Too many bugs in the honey.
Refresh & sesolution are the first things to look at.
Just so you know that colors in PowerPoint PC, and PowerPoint Mac, don't exactly match... go figure.
I forgot to mention another thing, sometimes it's the projector that needs to be tweaked.

The name of my wireless network in the form of my modem router is not read from the iPhone, while the first era.Il my ipad does not read the network but I surf the internet. Why? What can I do?

Can I use this DIR-635 to extend the WiFi network of the "Belgacom" WiFi?
To answer this question correctly, a user would need to have a DIR-635 router connected by Ethernet to a Belgacom router.
If you think about it, the chances of another user who has these two same devices configured this way and also being on an Apple support forum to see your post are about zero.
The following might work, but you will not know until you try.
Configure the DIR-635 to provide a wireless network that uses the exact same wireless network name, exact same wireless security and exact same password as the Belgacom wireless router. Make sure that the DIR-635 is configured in Bridge Mode.
Can I purchase and set-up an Apple Airport Express or Apple Airport Extreme on my level 1 (the ethernet cable running from level 2 to level 1 could plug-into either of those)
The AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme would need to be configured exactly the same way as mentioned above.
(What is the difference in the 2 -- one is about twice the price of the other…)

    Hello everyone,
I just updated my 3GS from iOS 5.0.0 to 5.0.1
Since the update, Itunes says that no SIM card is detected, and the iPhone says that it cannot be activated. It also obviously does not detect any network.
I tried restarting the phone several times, removing the SIM card several times, but it did not change anything, the SIM is still not detected.

My laptop compaq presario will not connect to the Internet anymore after buying airport extreme. Why? It detects the network, accepts my password, but will not connect to Internet. I tried to repair connection, tried to reboot modem several times, I even updated my computer. Nothing. All it says is that it does not detect modem. Why?

Welcome to the support community group.
First, are you sure that your AirPort Extreme has been configured correctly and is properly connected to your modem?
Begin by telling us how you have things connected and if the Airport Extreme is replacing a previously owned router or is this an entirely new installation?
First be sure that your modem is working and properly connects you to the internet using an ethernet cable directly connected to your laptop.  Once you're sure that's working, reset the AirPort to factory defaults by disconnecting it from power and pressing and holding in the small reset button on the back  for 15 - 20 seconds while you reconnect it to power.  Then turn everything off for 5 minutes. Connect the Airport to your modem with and ethernet cable to the Airport WAN port on the back (check the user guide to make sure you connect the cable to the correct port) then connect a second ethernet cable between the laptop and one of the LAN ports on the AirPort Extreme.
Then power up the modem first, wait 5 minutes and then power up the Airport, wait 5 minutes and finally power up your laptop.
Then run the airport configuration utility from your laptop.  Since you're not using an Apple computer, be sure that all of your firewall, and virus blocking and checking software is disabled before you run the airport configuration utility.  Once you run the utility, it should detect your AirPort and allow you to use the configuration wizard to set things up.
Check back if you're still having problems.

  • Windows did not detect any networking hardware, Windows 7, New Hard Drive

Message "Windows did not detect any networking hardware"
    Satellite P505 S8980 Windows 7 Home Premium.
I replaced the Toshiba 500 GB HD with 500 GB Seagate.
Device Manager icon for any device with yellow exclamation mark,
Click on "Update Driver".  Lan eNet details as follows:
    Antheo - R8132 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20)
Browse to the folder where the setup program has the driver...
Message: "The best driver software is already installed."
(But the yellow exclamation mark still harasses me.)
--- Go to "Setup new connection" ---
    "Choose a connection option"
Click on "Connect to the Internet"
Response: "Windows did not detect networking hardware"
As near as I can tell, that translates from error 0x8E5E0247
I have this same error on other yellow exclamation marks respective of what kind of device it is.
=> To test my sanity, I put the old hard drive (same size) back in and except for the impact of slowness due to error retries, everything works okay.
    Note:
Same issue (hardware not detected) for Video adapter and Audio.
I bought new USB Wireless adapter to test, and the driver installed but not activated because "not digitally signed", and that same issue fits all the above hardware.  I down loaded them from Toshiba, and they are confirmed installed, but not accepted with digitally signed.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled with same results.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I'm discovering I am not as well as I thought... running on the  AF hard drive which was built with a copy drive from old format drive which was the product of system recovery disc set.
Review for context: Advanced Function HDD
Scenario that exposes harm caused by cloning data from 4K blocks drive to 512 bytes blocked drive (AF)
Toshiba supplied Windows-7 System Restore Discs: to factory state
Then I built the Windows-7 Repair  Disc... used later.
Hard drive was replaced when it caused SMART warning at every system boot.
Acronis was only utility that quickly detected problem (3 sectors had permanent read errors.) Active@Disk Image and Power Quest Drive Image (Ghost) did not detect the issue.
I tried Seagate 500 GB and Western digital 500 GB HDD drives as copy target.
That new drive would not boot: "Required source not found"
Booted My newly created Windows-7 repair disc, and used to to fix startup.
    See images.
That worked and then the ST9500423AS disc booted.
Now... next day I discovered Window Update is not working.
    I get message:
Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You need to restart your computer.
I ran Microsoft Fixit for updates.  It says it fixed two items.
    I still have the problem.
    The service shows "started"
Control Panel/ ACTION Center/ Maintenance/ Check for Updates
     "No action needed"
"Windows Update does not require any action"
    I checked  Update History...
... It is empty, else window is vacant... blank.
Soooo..... for a sanity check, I swap out hard drive; go back to the old format (which is the one I copied).
It works!  7 updates to install, including SP1... but I did NOT install them.
Switch back to the AF drive... Update doesn't work. I am broke again.
Is this another strange problem caused by the Advance Format issue?
    What to do?
By the way... I did install an Intel storage Matrix driver  update, but I do not have RAID chip, so that driver is not for me... unless I missed out on something.

  • Satellite Pro C660-1NQ does not detect WLan network

    Hi Guys,
We have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-1NQ here which does not detect the wireless network at all,
I have checked device manager and the wireless card does not show in here.
I tried scanning for new hardware, but nothing was found. I tried turning the wireless off/on with the function and F8 keys but still not showing in device manager or finding any new hardware.....
Any ideas as to what i can try next?
    Cheers,
    Ash

    Hi
It seems that the notebook would support the Atheros 802.11agn Wlan card.
Usually the Atheros Wlan card should be listed in device manager under in the menu Network Adapters.
If its not listed then I recommend installing the WLAN driver which can be downloaded here:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads
Choose the Atheros Wireless LAN Adapter Windows 7 (32/64) 9.2.0.419.0 or newer
Hope this helps to detect the Wlan chip!!!
