My wireless apple mouse randomly disconnects while I'm using it?

Brand new batteries. I'll be sitting there using it, and it just stops responding. The computer still shows that the mouse is connected, but I have to go with the track pad and disconnect, then reconnect it again. Then it works. It's not a big deal unless I'm gaming. Then it's like...well, annoying. Any suggestions?

  • Apple TV Randomly Disconnects From iTunes While Streaming Videos

    Hey All,
Anyone having an issue where your Apple TV randomly disconnects from your iTunes on another computer while streaming videos from it? Randomly, on different shows and movies, I have had it do it quite a few times.
In the beginning, after it would disconnect, within a few seconds, it would reconnect to iTunes and then I would have to navigate back to what I was watching and and resume it. Now, it will disconnect, and then I will have to quit iTunes on my iMac and then start it up again.
I am curious if it is an issue with the wireless adapter on the ATV because when it happens, it looks like it losses complete connection with the iTunes and then reconnects to the net only after. Then I would need to restart iTunes on my iMac to continue watching my show.
This was happening before the recent update and continues after the update as well.
    Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

You're talking about those WIFI bridges they make for xbox 360s that connect the 360 ethernet to a wifi adapter, bridging it?
That is a possible solution, but I will definitely check with Apple first, hoping it will be a no money solution (I am a grad student, every dollar helps).
My apartment is two rooms, my iMac being in another room, so that wouldn't work. The Wifi extender will probably be my only hope if Apple is not cool with the helping a brother out.

Try cleaning the sensor with a damp (but not wet) cotton bud.

  • Magic mouse disconnecting while I'm using it.

My magic mouse which I purchased less that a month age at a cost of $75.00 CD is constantly disconnecting while I'm using it. This disconnect will last for about 10-15 seconds but it will happen over and over again. Also, if I'm away from the computer for a short amount of time, I have to re-start it because the mouse is disconnected…everything just dies. This never happened with my old mouse..I only had to tap it and everything would start up again. I would get a refund on it but I lost the receipt - so I'm stuck.
Is there a solution to this nuisance problem???

Hi..I finally got a message saying that the batteries were low - so I replaced them. I bought the mouse less than a month ago and they were the original batteries but still, that's a bit soon for the batteries to run out.  Is it preferable to actually turn  the mouse OFF by turning off the green light on the back of the mouse, or does that happen automatically when you are not using the computer even though it's still on?
My computer is on most of the day even though I may not be actually using it. I don't want to have to replace batteries once a month. Also, the ones I have now are the rechargeable batteries…guess that ok.
    Thanks for your reply!

  • Wireless Apple mouse

I have a new Apple wireless mouse that was about £60.
I bought it specifically for the side to side scrolling, but it isn't v. responsive. It takes several goes to get it to go left and right in documents and spreadsheets.
    Up and down is fine.
Anyone else had the same problem?

    Thanks.
Is this the mouse you are looking for? I have found it on a the Apple & Amazon UK website:

  • Windows XP and wireless Apple mouse & keyboard

Would like to install Windows XP to run just one program.
!) Will the Apple Wireless mouse and keyboard work with Windows XP.
    2) Are the Windows XP programs on eBay legitimate to purchase?

I use the Apple Bluetooth keyboard and a Microsoft BT mouse with by MacPro desktop. They both work fine with XP as should an Apple BT mouse. As for question 2, I wouldn't trust them.

  • Mouse randomly jumping while using most tools in Photoshop CS4 and CS5.

    Hi,
I have recently been using my photoshop cs5 when all of a sudden the mouse has began to jump and move randomly when I am using some of the tools. For example, when I use the eraser tool it will not always, but frequently erase something in a random position on the page, and this is becoming a pain as I can be editing something zoomed right in and zoom out to find random areas of my drawing gone which can be very frustrating, but this problem is not restricted to the eraser tool, when I transform shapes with the transform tool occassional it will stretch the shape 4000pixels wide when I only go to increase it by 5, or when i try to move it, it just disappears and I find it outside of the drawing canvas.
This is really causing alot of issues for me, so how can I resolve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Ben.

Ok I am going to toss some thing out, they may sound silly or redundant but these are things we simply do not know that could cause issues.
What type of mouse pad do you have?
Highly reflective or worn smooth mouse pads or using desktop surfaces rather then a mouse pad can cause light distortion and cause jumppy behavior uneven survaces or highly reflective survfaces are bad too. the same can be said about overly light absorbent surfaces. as they can spread the light. Like if you are like me and have a wide arm cloth chair, you still need a mouse pad on the arm of the chair or your mouse pointer will jump as it travels accross the uneven surface.
Do you have any other usb devices installed?
Are you plugged into a USB hub and not the computer directly?
Is it possable its your keyboard thats causing the issue. Unplug the KB then see if the mouse still jumps.
let me know if any of this helpped.

  • TS3092 my wireless apple mouse works to move the arrow but will not scroll. how can I fix this?

my wireless mouse moves the pointer but does not scroll, how can I fix this?

Check the setting in System Preferences > Universal Access > Mouse & Trackpad tab > mouse options.. button > check scrolling.
If you have an older mouse with the trackball, it might just need cleaning.  Turn the mouse over and rub the trackball vigorously on paper or microfiber cloth.

  • MacBook Pro + 1st Gen Apple Wireless (Bluetooth) Mouse = Headache

    Hi there.
I have recently purchased a Wireless Apple Mouse (not the current Mighty Mouse model, but the original no scroll-wheel one) off a seller on eBay who shipped it to me, and is adament the item is in full working order. I however, am not convinced.
I have spent the last two days trying to get rid of the lag I have with the mouse. It is unbearable, completely impossible to use. I have trawled the internet and indeed these forums to try and find a solution, but there is nothing that has worked. Restarting without Dashboard, killing every process possible, driver updates, OS updates, several different sets of batteries, unisntalling and reinstalling, tools to boost the speed of the mouse, the lot. I know my Bluetooth works fine, after having synced with several phones and other laptops without a hitch. Nothing will work, and worse still, everything I have read on the subject is related to the Wireless Mighty Mouse, effectively rendering the advice useless. Also, nobody seems to have had quite as dramatic a problem with it as myself.
The lag is unbearable. I have used wireless mouse and keyboards for years and they work wonderfully. The delay is probably about a quarter of a second, and the cursor jumps and stutters so it is not only a case of it moving slowly but behind my actions. I have noticed that the very moment I turn it on, if I move it quickly back and forth, I get a moment's teaser of how the mouse should work, with a smooth fluid action, but just for a second before the relentless stuttering. The buttons are unresponsive too.
I have checked the area for interference. I've disconected power supplies, turned off my phone's bluetooth, turned off my phone completely, turned off Airport, turned off my external Hard Drive, unplugged all cables. I am completely at a loss as to what the problem is, short of the mouse being broken in some way. But the seller is adament it was in working order (I doubt their honesty, and indeed, their intelligence after I told them I was using it with my MacBook Pro, and the responded asking if I was using it with a Mac and if I'd swopped the batteries).
So, does anybody out there have a clue if I'm right?

Elaborating on this still, as of yet, unsolved problem I'm having, I encounter an error whenever I download and try to run the apple wireless keyboard and mouse firmware 1.1. update. I try to open the .app and it fails every time, after numerous times of reinstalling, restarting, redownloading, the lot.

  • How to connect apple mouse

I use a wireless Apple mouse. I get an error message indicating that the mouse is not connected even though it's on. The message continues with,"make sure the mouse is discoverable". How do I get this mouse to be discoverable?

    Thank you very much.
I wonder if you can help me with a different problem.
Without changing any settings, several days ago I woke up my iMac to discover that I can't send or receive email. Nor can I print anything. The day before, everything was working. I could receive and send email, print whatever I wanted and generally had no problems. I contacted my ISP, Cablevision, who asked to allow them to access my iMAC. I gave permission. They determined that all the setting, ports etc. where correct for me to receive and send email. They referred me to Apple.
I have never had this problem in the 7 years I have have been working on my iMac. I also own a MacBook Pro which runs on the same network as well as an iPhone. The MacBook and iPhone receive and send email like always. It's just my iMac that's giving me heartburn.
    Can you help?

  • Pairing wireless Apple keyboard.

Am I to understand that I need a wireless keyboard each for my MacBook Pro and my iPad?  Should I also spring for an Apple mouse or can I keep on using the MS wireless mouse on my MacBook?

You could use one bluetooth keyboard for each device. But you will have to be carefull to connect it to the device you wish to type on and dis-connect the device you do not want to type on to prevent interference. It can work, but it is best to have a separate keyboard paired to each device.
No need to worry about the Apple mouse or any mouse, the iPad does not support pointing devices, only a finger.
