My wireless internet keeps cutting off?

I will be browsing the net for sometime, then after maybe like an hour , the wireless net starts to give trouble. I know the router is working because it works on my HP laptop and cell phone. It would show it has full wireless bars but firefox or safari would just not display any webpages. While i'm connected to Ichat and Msn they would sign out and it still shows connected to the internet. My macbook is only 2 weeks old. I would really love your help thnkx.

I have the same problem - only I get disconnected from the internet after aprox 3-5minutes.
It startede three days ago and is most anoying! If I log out and in again or changes user profile I get another 3-5minutes untill I'm disconnected once again.
I cant't figure out what happened No resent installations or updates...
The network works just fine with my laptop and iPhone
TimeMachine won't connect to my harddrive that's connected to my APExtreme ether.

Hi,
I have a WRT160N router using DSL and PPPoE, and my internet continually cuts out at most every 15 minutes or at the least once an hour. I thought it had something to do with security so I changed from WPA to WEP but that didn't do the trick. It is almost as if it has to restart itself but that shouldnt happen. What can I do to fix this issue.

To get a better handle on the problem, connect at least one computer to the router using an Ethernet cable. This can help isolate the problem further.
You can pretty much connect as many devices to the wireless side as you wish. The only problem you might encounter if you connect a large number of machines on the wireless side is lack of bandwidth. I can't imagine 5-6 machines on a wireless network would be a problem, unless one or two of them attempts a large file transfer. Even then, I would expect the wireless to be slow - not down.
What version of firmware is in your WRT160N? How long have you had your router, and has it worked properly in the past?

Ok I have a wrt54g. We have a dell laptop wireless, and a dell desktop wired along with a PS3 wireless. The desktop doesn't lose the internet. But ever so often on the laptop and sometimes (but not nearly as often as the ps3) we will just lose the internet. It will just cut out and the bars will go away and then it will come back on. Also it will display in the screen limited or no connectivity. I also want to set it up securely so no one can steal it. I know this is a lot but any help would make my life a lot easier at the moment. Thank you so much cause computers are not really my thing.

Ok got the firmware updated. For the security under wep it says default key and gives me an option of 1-4 to choose. Then wep encryption and gives me two choices 64 bits 10 hex digits and then 128 bits and 26 hex digits. Then the passphrase and gives me a spot to put something in but also has a generate button. Can I put my own in or not? Then it has at the bottom slots for all 4 keys to put something in each of them. What does this mean? Maybe I am totally lost and not as hard as it seems.

More experience leads me to believe the problem is with the new iMac. If I get the network going by turning AirPort Extreme power off, then on, I see a good signal at my iMac. Experience shows the network drops off after several hours. But yesterday I turned the iMac off, and the network remainded up (I could see it on my iPhone and iPad) throughout the night. That's the first time that has happened since I got the new iMac. Never had this issue with the old machine. I transferred all file to the new machine from a Time Machine backup that was up-to-date. Am working with Apple support. They had me do a re-boot of the AirPort and will call back tomorrow AM to learn it did not solve the problem, but turning off the iMac does. Darn.

it worked for me, but i tried to redo it and now it's not working.
i have friends who have iphone 4 with the ios5 and their additional google calendars are appearing.
you need to turn off and turn your phone on again or wait overnight for the calendars to appear after using the link.

My iPod keeps cutting off songs before they finish. There doesn't seem to be a pattern - it only happens to some songs. It also doesn't cut them all off with the same amount of time remaining. The songs work perfectly when I play them back on iTunes on my laptop.
I've tried removing and reloading all the music as well as restoring my iPod to its factory settings.
Please help... it's driving me mad!!

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Phone keeps cutting off by itself

My phone keeps cutting off randomly by itself. My battery life will be at 100%, then it will cut off, and suddenly jump to 18%. Anyone had this problem before?

Jessica2010, that is strange that you are having those issues! When did this start happening? Does the phone ever get hot? Have you ever had the battery replaced? Have you tried to charge the device using a different charger?^SP

If you hold down an "option" key while you pull down the Wi-Fi/AirPort menu bar item, what value do you see for "RSSI"?
It might help to reset the connection settings on your Mac using these steps one at a time until the problem is resolved, recognizing that, depending on your problem, not all of these steps will make sense:
1) Use the AirPort/Wi-Fi menu bar item to turn AirPort/Wi-Fi off, then on again.
2) Try to select your Wi-Fi network from the AirPort/Wi-Fi menu.
3) In the Network panel of System Preferences delete the AirPort/Wi-Fi item from the left column, then add it back.
4) In the same panel as (3), define a new location and see if you can make that work.
5) In the same panel, select the AirPort/Wi-Fi connection item, click the "Advanced" button, select the "TCP/IP" tab, then click "Renew DHCP Lease". Note that the fix this step implements may be temporary.
6) In the folder /Library/Preferences ( _not_ <yourhomefolder>/Library/Preferences), move the folder SystemConfiguration onto the Desktop, then restart your computer. See if you can now make your AirPort connection work.
These steps may not help, but they'll only take a couple of minutes to try. Before you try these, if you have any special network settings on your Mac for things like DSL credentials, note all your network settings, because the latter steps will destroy them. If you got all the way to the last step, if things don't work any worse than before, you can trash the saved SystemConfiguration folder.

Internet constantly cuts off

Internet connection constantly cuts off. I go to wireless network connections and click on connect and it usually connects in a few seconds but then it will disconnect again - sometimes in just a couple of minutes. Comcast came out and changed the modem about 6 months ago and it was better (not cutting off as much). The last few weeks it is worse than before.

We have been having this same issue for over a year. I've talked to tech support, they've sent someone out. All they have me do is cycle the modem over, and over again. It's getting really frustrating. My kids do cyber school and it's interfering with their school, because they are constantly being kicked from their online classes, can't submit work, etc. They sent us a new modem last Thursday, and that did not help. It seems as if the problem has gotten worse. And to top it all off, now the printer won't even connect to the network. So now the kids can't even print out work!

After several times being in situation my internet connection (broadband cable) has been cut off after accessing GraceNote CDDB, and after several times I had to either restart or shut down my Power Book in order to access GraceNote CDDB again for each CD I wanted to put in my iTunes Music Folder, and after I checked all feedbacks and discussions regarding this matter - I did find The Solution - finaly!
You just have to uncheck Automatic access to GraceNote CDDB in iTunes Preferences (Importing) and to do it from drop-down menu manualy - and everything will work in perfect order!

I just turned the IPV6 off, I previously tried restarting safari and the computer itself (im not sure which you were referring to) but hopefully turning the IPV6 to off resolved the problem. Thanks so muchfor your help, I think you got it =). If you dont mind me asking what exactly did that do that fixed it though?

I have the same problem, my internet keeps going on and off too, its been happening over the last 3 months it ALSO HAPPENS TO MY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOUR I highlight this because the script reading so called helpers at sky keep blaming my computer/router/filters/wiring I am an IT engineer and it stuns me that both myself and my neighbours have the exact same problem yet there is no fault on the line (so they say) it has got to a point where i cant watch a movie on netflix or skygo without interuption. Paying for 10mb and getting bloody dialup connection and so called help from what can only be described as amateurs. I have to be honest sky have gone from being one of the better providers to probably the worst.My suggestion is do as I am going to do and change providers.

B110 wireless printer - keeps going off line in windows 8

Hi - Since supgrading to windows 8 I've had probelms with my wireless printer (B110) and the fact that it keeps going off line. I've now ried removing and re installing usng latest drivers. During installation I get the message that printer rediscovery problems detected. You Pc may not be able to track on line status changes of your printer. If you are using firewall software verify that UDP port 427 is unblocked from your printer at 192.168.2.4 to your pc.
Following windows 8 help I've gone to firewall inbound rules and triesd to enable udp port 427, without much success. On the new inbound rule wizard , I choose the port option then the udp option and then the specific port option and enter 427 . This eems to having no impact but if I'm being honest I've not much of a clue on what I'm doing.

While I am researching your Belkin router, I would like to add that you will want to set a static IP for your printer. The green checkmark in your Printer's folder just means it is your default printer and has nothing to do with whether or not it has an IP address. You have to go into your Wireless Menu on the front of the printer to "View Wireless Settings" or print a network configuration page at that exact moment it is not communicating. You are not looking for "No trouble found." Sorry I wasn't more specific but you are looking for an IP address or URL like 192.168.1.5 or 10.0.0.5 etc.
Was the above document I provided any assistance? That has very good information to help clarify the instructions I am giving up because I really want to help you but I will need a bit more information.
