Hi You have a couple of options as I see it please try these steps might help you to fix your issue. 1) Disconnect the Battery & Adapter then press & hold the power button on Notebook for 30 seconds then turn on the unit and check if the Wireless light turns on. 2) Go to Device manager then uninstall the wireless drivers from Network Adapter and restart the unit and check if the light turns on. 3) Try doing a system restore to the date where unit was working fine. 4) Please update the Bios & Wireless driver from HP website. 5) Click start in search type Recovery Manager then click on it select Yes on User access control then select I need immediate help then select Driver & application recovery select the wireless driver and install it then restart the unit. 6) If you are comfortable reseating the wireless card which will be on the back panel off your unit you could try this steps as well. ManjunathTech - I had this issue with my wlan card suddenly not working and it's driver disappearing in the middle of using the laptop. I found this article and removing the battery then restarting with only AC adapter plugged in worked.
Can you explain what happened and why this worked to fix my wireless card?

Specifically, you will want to take note of this section:
The headphones don't work
If your iPod's headphones don't work or have static or garbled audio, try connecting them to any other 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack, like the one on your computer. If the issue with the headphones persists, replace them. For an iPod under warranty, you can order a replacement online. Otherwise, check out the cool headphones at the Apple Online Store. If the issue appears to be with the iPod, try resetting it. If that doesn't work, then restore iPod with the latest iPod software using iTunes 7 or later.

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Connect your device to iTunes and do the update through iTunes. Using a computer takes much less space on your device than doing the update on your device.

Without proper system information nobody can tell you anything specific. You can always delete the Bridge cache at the operating system level - it is, after all, merely a file/ folder.

To restore the Back button to your Safari Toolbar, you can go to the View menu and select Customize Toolbar. Drag the Back/Forward button to the actual toolbar. See this article -

X isn't working anymore since the last system update.

I'm using Arch for a couple of months and didn't need a forums login until now. But currently I've broken somehow my system and can't get it working anymore. So I need some help of you.
The Problem:
Arch Linux is running on my computer at work as a virtual machine inside VMWare Player 6.0.2-1744117. Host ist Win 8.1. After the system-update xorg didn't start anymore. Neither with kdm nor with plain X. When I start the X-Server (X as user or systemctl start kdm), the cursor of the tty console appears in the upper left corner, but isn't blinking. That's all. Only a black screen. It seems, X itself isn't starting. There's no process in ps and no graphics mode switch. In journalctl there's no (error) message.
What I've done:

I've tried a downgrade to xorg-server 1.5.0.5, but it didn't help.
I would prefer the vmware graphics driver, but temporary the vesa driver would do the job too. I can access the system via ssh from outside. Inside the VMWare after starting X I can't switch to the tty consoles anymore.
Any ideas?

Wireless isn't working, but it says there is signal

My wireless internet stopped working two days ago. The broad band works fine, but the wireless router isn't working. All the lights are on that should be, and the laptops say there is exellent signal. However, it won't connect to the internet. The model is a WRT54GX2. If someone could help me, that would be greatly appreciated.

Did you connect directly to the router?
Delete the wireless network profile in windows. Then try it again.

Macbook Pro (Late 2011) Keyboard Light isn't working anymore.

I reinstalled Macintosh OS since then my keyboard lights stopped working.
I have tried :
1. I have tried pressing F5 , F6 keys but they don't even show the icon of light dim and high on screen it didn't worked .
2. I have tried every single option/shortcut in Preferences --> Keyboard pannel still didn't worked.
3. I have tried installing windows using virtual box still it doesn't even work on Windows.
4. I have tried create a guest user it didn't worked there as well.
5. I have tried deleting a file from Library -> Prefrences --> com.apple.iokit.AmbientLightSensor.plist still not working.
6. I have updated my Operating system to Mavericks still it isn't working.
Keyboard pannel in preferences looks like attached image, which has less options then other people's. anyone having any idea about how to resolve this issue?
Any application or anything which may resolve this issue please let me know

My Thunderbolt to HDMI connection isn't working anymore.

I've had my MacBook Pro for about a year now (2.4 GHz i5), and I've been using a Thunderbolt to HDMI adaptor to connect to my Sharp 32" LCD with no problems since I bought it...until this week when I updated all my software/OS. Now, I can connect, the displays prefs see the monitor, but all I get is black. No sound either...even though the sound prefs recognize the HDMI connection.
I know the problem isn't the cable. It used to work, and it still actually connects this same laptop to my projector...but it won't display on my TV anymore. I even get sound on my projector. It works like my TV used to. The problem started with the update, so I want to know what changed...and when Apple plans on fixing it. These are not cheap computers...I am kind of embarassed that I have to use my gf's $350 Acer to play Netflix on our TV when I have this multimedia monster gathering dust.
This problem is extremely frustrating, and I've been doing some research on it. It seems like quite the problem for a lot of people! There are multiple unresolved discussions on here about it (some of them over 40 pages long!) and I can't really believe Apple isn't dealing with this. It's been years now since this started happening, I guess.
We're mac users...we need multiple displays, and we need this stuff to keep working when we update! That's why we've made Apple into the richest corporation in the world. Step up superstars...fix this!
Again (just to be clear) I know the problem isn't the cable, so don't tell me to go get a different one, or that it's the issue. Me and my gf basically wore out Netflix with this very laptop and cable up until this week, and I've never had an issue with it..ever, until this update (to OS 10.7.5). Everything is in good shape, and if the laptop/computer is still feeding to my projector just fine...there's something else going on here, and I think a lot of people would love to know what it is. I am not the only person this is happening to, and it's been years since people have been begging Apple to fix this!

No, I am a media professional who uses his MacBook Pro to connect to external monitors, and needs to continue to do so. I don't want Apple TV. I want my laptop to work again, like it's supposed to. Like it used to.
I have a demonstration this week at work that requires me to plug into an LCD screen and I am hoping to have this resolved by then. I am trying to convince my department to buy a Retina Mac and thousands of dollars worth of video software for live shows, and if I can't make it work, then I can't exactly convince them (or myself) to buy what I have been researching.
Again, I don't want wireless video or Apple TV. I don't want to buy any more stuff. I want to know why my Thunderbolt to HDMI cable stopped working after my update, and how to fix it...preferably before this meeting.

Outlook's active view isn't working anymore

I can't preview an attachment anymore in Outlook using Firefox. It does work with Internet Explorer though. Just started having this problem the last couple of days.

CTRL-Tab isn't working anymore in Indesign CC nor in CC (2014)

Hi, I use to switch between open documents using the CTRL-TAB and CTRL-SHIFT-TAB in Indesign.
Since we have upgraded to CC and now CC (2014) it seems that Indesign refuses to use these shortcuts.
All tough it's possible to assign them, they just do nothing.
I can assign also other shortcuts for this function and they do work, except the one I want.
While in Photoshop this works fine, in Illustrator it is not possible to assign such shortcut (that is another story).
What have I done? Removed prefs and even uninstalled and reinstalled all CC apps…
Any suggestions?

It would be slightly different with a German keyboard layout on Mac OSX.
There it is:
cmd + <
and:
cmd + shift + <
Where the < key is right to the shift key on my MacBook Pro keyboard.
Or directly above the ctrl key, if that helps.
