My wireless keyboard is not found, My wireless keyboard is not found

My wireless keyboard is still not found after changing batteries. What can be wrong?

If you don't have a wired keyboard to do the following then, first, try restarting. Then if it is found and connected, go into Bluetooth Preferences and make sure it's setup and paired there. In addition, add it to Favorites by clickling on the small tools icon.
Next, check this box in Advanced. You can check Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer. Mine is unchecked because it may sometimes be responsible for waking the computer from sleep.
And you'll be far better off getting a decent wired keyboard. The Apple wireless ones eat batteries alive, and are prone to failure. I have one, but stuck it in a drawer right away, where it's been almost 4 years. Typing on it was horrid, as well.

  • Apple Wireless Keyboard Blinking Green Light & Not Found

    Hi all
I've had a wireless keyboard and mouse for the past 2 years which have given me no problems at all. Suddenly the keyboard has stopped working and when I looked for it on the bluetooth menu it said it wasn't connected. I tried to set it up with Bluetooth again but it can't be found. I replaced all the batteries and when I switch it on the green light blinks on and off for a while (which is when I tried to re-pair it with bluetooth) but then it stops blinking and stays off. Has anyone any ideas? Is the keyboard itself for the trash? The mouse continues to work fine.
    thanks
    WG

This morning, my Keyboard went into the fast blinking light state when I inadvertently pressed the power button when it was in the middle of pairing.
    Here's what worked this time:
    • Took out the batteries and left them out for > half an hour.
    • Deleted the pairing in the bluetooth preferences.
    • Made the MacBook Pro 'invisible' -> turn 'Discoverable' off.
(Because the keyboard tried to pair with the MBP again, which I denied)
    • Put the batteries back.
    • 'Set up new bluetooth device -> keyboard'
    • Turned on the keyboard
    • Paired again.

  • HP Device Not Found Error when trying to print or scan wireless- HP Officejet Pro L7590

Have had HP Officejet Pro L7590 All-In-One Printer for years.  Always worked fine and I had no issues printing via wireless connection.  Several months ago..  Possibly after a Windows 8 update.  From Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 I have not been able to use the printers wireless feature.  When I try to print or scan it shows the printer as offline.  Also get an error message that tells me "HP Imaging device is not found".  I can still print when connected to USB.  Cannot scan or use features of the HP software suite.  I have tried several times to correct.  Reloading the software and drivers several times, but no success.  I just tried again and was able to print the test page wireless, so got all excited and thought I fixed it.  Then tried to print something and got the same error message I have seen in the past.  I have talked to certain supports saying that it may be a firewall setting within Windows.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks

  • One or more keys on wireless keyboard not working

One or more keys on my imac wireless keyboard are not fucntioning. These keys incldue all number keyes, few symbols, and hardly any letter keys. I've been experiencing this problem for quite sometime and was wondering if there is a fix. This is twenty one and half inch imac that has a core three processor.

    I found the problem.
'Mouse Keys'  was enabled.  On my computer System Preference>View>Accessibility>Mouse & Trackpad.
Took me 21/2 hrs to figure this out.  Should be easier to find these solutions.

  • FN key not working on Apple Wireless Keyboard

EDIT: Found the culprit: USB Overdrive was taking over the external keyboard. After disabling USB Overdrive for the keyboard, the FN key started working again.
I have Macbook Air (Mid 2013) connected to a Cinema Display and Apple Wireless Keyboard. MBA is running the latest Yosemite (10.10).
I tried using FN + Delete on the wireless keyboard to forward delete but it didn't work, it just deleted. I tried other keyboard shortcuts that require the use of FN key, and none of them work either. But when I try these directly on the MBA's keyboard, the FN key works perfectly there, just not on the wireless keyboard.
I've removed the bluetooth keyboard and tried reconnecting, restarting computer, login out and back in. Nothing works. Anyone have any ideas?

I disabled "Any Keyboard, Any Application" and "Any Other, Any Application" but I still could not use my Fn key on my Apple Wireless Keyboard. Uninstalling (removing the driver) restored Fn key functionality. In addition downgrading from 3.1 to 3.0.2 on Yosemite also solved this issue.
Did you actually try what you wrote?
I should also note that the Fn key on my rMBP's internal keyboard works with 3.1, oddly enough, but the Apple Wireless Keyboard's Fn key does not.

  • Apple Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard not Connecting to iPad

Hey, I try to connect my Apple Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard is not connecting to my iPad. I tap Bluetooth "On" and it searches for devices. Then I slide the switch on the back of my keyboard to the green light and the iPad picks it up and says "Not Paired." So I tap the keyboard and it just spins and spins and spins until the keyboard times out and powers off. Then it disappears and my iPad can't find any devices. I repeated the process several times and I got the same result.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks

I had a very similar problem, with a new model wireless keyboard. The set-up is not very intuitive (and the instructions for both the iPad and the keyboard are not particularly helpful). Here's how I got it to work:
    1. If the keyboard has already been paired with another object -- e.g., I was testing out my iMac keyboard -- you should be completely out of range of that other object (more than 30 feet away).
    2. Make sure Bluetooth on the iPad is disabled.
    3. The keyboard should not be "on" -- i.e., no solid green light.
    4. Press and hold the power button on the keyboard until you get a blinking green light. This should take just a few seconds.
    5. Turn on Bluetooth on the iPad.
    6. At this point, it should detect the keyboard and instruct you to enter a combination of keys to pair the two devices.
I found that you have to follow this sequence or it won't work. For example, if you have Bluetooth on on the iPad before holding the power button on the keyboard, it won't work.
    I hope that helps.

  • Wireless apple keyboard not pairing at set up of new mac mini

i have just purchased a new mac mini and wireless keyboard and trackpad. i am trying to setup my mac mini but the keyboard does not pair. i have tried replacing the batteries. but as i am new to macs i dont have much of a clue. the trackpad connects fine.

I had this same issue when I purchased my Mini. Unfortunately, the initial setup of your wireless keyboard requires a wired keyboard. I don't recall where I found this information, but it may have been in the manual for the Mac wireless keyboard. I purchased a Mac wired keyboard from Fry's Electronics to log in and sync the wireless keyboard and returned the wired keyboard later that day.

  • Just bought a new mac mini, wireless keyboard, and track pad. My track pad will not synch. All advise I have been given is to change items in the setting menu, but I cant because I still have to get through the setup!!

Just bought a new mac mini, wireless keyboard, and track pad. My track pad will not synch. All advise I have been given is to change items in the setting menu, but I cant because I still have to get through the setup!!

The power button for the Trackpad is on the right hand end of the battery case. Press that button to initiate the pairing process. On the top of the Trackpad just above the power button is a tiny green light (you probably cannot see it unless it is lighted). That light will indicate ehther or not the Trackpad is discoverable. If the Trackpad has discoverable the green light will blink on and off. If it does not pair within 3 minutes you will have to press the power button again to re-initiate the pairing process. Once your Trackpad has paired, you can just leave it on and it will pair automatically when you reboot your Mac.
If you are having problems pairing, try turning off any other Bluetooth devices within 30 or so feet of your Mac mini. That includes other Computers, iPhones, iPads, etc. that may be in the area. Once your Trackpad has pairedwith your mini, you don't have to be concerned about other Bluetooth devices.
One other hint, I find that although the Wireless Trackpad does not eat batteries as fast as the Magic Mouse it still uses more than the Wireless Keyboard. It is a good idea to keep a supply of AA batteries around. I have used Apple's Rechargable batteries, but found they did not last that long before needing to be recharged. I have had the best battery life from Duracell Quantum batteries.

  • Ultraslim Plus Wireless Keyboard and Mouse not connecting

I just bought the Ultraslim Plus Wireless Keyboard and Mouse, but I can't get either to work.  My machine (ThinkPad X230-2324-HQ4) does not have a CD drive for me to use the install CD, so I found and downloaded the driver from your support site:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-77112
I installed the driver properly and restarted my computer, but neither the keyboard or mouse will connect still.  I've checked the batteries, and I've verified that my ThankPad's Bluetooth drivers are up to date and working properly, but I still can't seem to get it to work.  I've found posts on here from people with similar issues, but they seem to all be related to the Ultraslim, not the Ultraslim Plus.  The Ultraslim Plus does not include a USB dongle for connection.
    Please help!

The Ultraslim Plus Wireless Kit is Wireless 2.4G solution, it is not Bluetooth solution. It has a dongle when shipping. Maybe you can check the mouse or Keyboard inside and find the dongle. You can open the mouse battery bin, it should be a dongle at top of two batteries. If you still can not find the dongle, I suggest you call the Lenovo help center since you don't have the dongle.

  • Wireless Keyboard FN Key Not Working

    I have checked this box:
I also tried the Firmware 1.1 update but I got a messege saying:
"No Apple Aluminum Keyboards Found" and I paraphrase "Please connect the device or make sure it is turned on etc."
I also tried the Firmware 2.0 update but got the same message. I can't physically connect the Wireless Keyboard to the Mac Mini I have. It's wireless FFS.
I ALSO Installed the Bluetooth Firmware Update 2.0.1 and that didn't help
Also I tried some advice from a forum mentioning a SMC or System Management Controller via these instructions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
But nothing is allowing me to use my FN keys anymore. This is annoying because I thoroughly enjoyed volume control from my keyboard. Now it's gone.
This all started when my old keyboard broke and I got a new one. I want my volume control back! Help me please before I jump out the window!

    Hi.
My FN key is not working either. I have a macbook white (10.5.8) and a brand new apple wifi keyboard.
F9 to F12 keys are working. F1 to F4 keys are not working.
I've gone thought many posts (some are listed bellow). In short, I did the following already:
    - keyboard software update
    - keyboard firmware update
    - magic mouse software update (because some posts suggested that more than one Bluetooth device, like magic mouse, could interfere on Bluetooth keyboard operation.
    - SMC reset (above in this post).
Most posts were saying  "uncheck the "use F1, F2......", then recheck it. This didn't work for me.
    I'd appreciate any help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Gus.

  • Help!  Wireless Keyboard will not type!

    Hi to all!
Long time existing problem. My wireless keyboard from time to time unresponsive. I cannot type anymore (Right now I type with the keyboard viewer). Reported to Apple before and got new keyboard but problem still existing. Very frustrating. I'm living on an island and it would be a huge effort to carry the unit back to the dealer.
I cannot type, caps lock and space bar not working. Other keys like delete, command, shift and upper line are working.
I repaired permission, restart and shut down several times already, but it won't work. Earlier times it was working after a restart but not now. It is indicated that keyboard and mouse is paired and on.
I have a mid 2009 Mac Pro model. I'm running on Snow Leopard with latest updates.
Now also my pointer didn't respond anymore and had to shut down by pressing the power button.
Finally now after starting again everything is back to normal.
Has anybody similar problems? What can I do? If cannot do my editing work, my computer is worthless for me. I had times i was even unable to save all my work because of that.
I hope some insider can help me, please.
    Michael

hi again, i just found a solution to my problem so i hope it helps you.
i opened >system preferences>universal access>mouse & trackpad, from there i discovered that mouse keys was turned on( probably by my 4 year old son). i switched these off and keyboard works fine again.
i hope this helps you if you are still having difficulties.

  • Apple Wireless Keyboard (2007) will not connect

I just got an Apple Wireless Keyboard (2007 aluminum) and it will not connect to any computer that I have tried it on. This is at my work, so I have multiple machines to try it on. I tried it on a couple MacBook Pro's, and several different Mini's.
When I start the Bluetooth Setup Assistant and select "Keyboard" and click continue, it does not find anything. ( http://screencast.com/t/Pev6sLaH )
If I then turn the keyboard off and then back on it will find it. So I click continue so that it can pair with is and it fails, saying it was not discoverable. ( http://screencast.com/t/D0SNKMDR )
If I turn if off and then back on while it is trying to pair, that does not help.
Is the keyboard just DOA? Or am I missing something? I have read the users manual, searched the Apple support KB, and Googled for an answer but found nothing. I am thinking it might just be a bad keyboard but wanted to check here first.

Just to follow up as of today the key board is now paired.
Go figure why one day it will not work then the next day it will.
After reading many of the comments here there must be some sort of software issue with Snow Leopard.
