My wireless keyboard suddenly won't connect to my iPad anymore. I changes the batteries....

Suddenly my wireless keyboard does not connect to my iPad anymore ? It is about one year old, and I renewed the batteries.
How do I get it started again?

Try again later.

  • How do I turn on my wireless keyboard and make it 'discoverable'?  I got a message that the batteries were low, so I changed them for new ones and now the keyboard doesn't work.

I got a message saying that the batteries were low, so changed them for new ones and now the keyboard cannot be 'found'. There seems to be no way to turn it on and make it 'discoverable' to the system.  At the moment I'm typing this on a spare keyboard plugged into the  back of my mac via a USB.  Please help!

Have you checked to make sure the batteries are inserted the correct way? Have you tried to turn it on by pushing the right upper (round) edge of the keyboard - if you do that, do you see a tiny little green light? Since you have a wired keyboard, can you get to the Bluetooth setup/preference pane so you can manually try to sync the keyboard?

  • Wireless keyboard suddenly stopped working - changed batteries still did not help

    Hi
I have an Envy 20 all in one touchscreen with a wireless keyboard which has been absolutley fantastic until now.  The wireless keyboard suddenly stopped working while composing an email.  I replaced the batteries and checked them with a volt meter to ensure 1.5v. They are a name brand alkiline battery.  I tried re-booting the computer and pressing the blue connect button under the keyboard.  The only keys that seem to work are the volume up/down and mute; the rest of teh keyboard does not.  Any idea?  I like the factory keyboard so I am hoping it is not a faulty keyboard.  After market keyboards will use a USB port.
    Thanks

    Hello @Thor66,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand that your wireless keyboard is not working and you are looking for assistance. I am providing you with an HP Support document: Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Troubleshooting, which will walk you through the troubleshooting process for your wireless keyboard.
Now if this does not work and you have to replace the keyboard do not fear you can replace the keyboard and the dongle without using another USB port as the one that is in can be replaced. I would be happy to assist you further and/or walk you through changing out the dongle from a new wireless keyboard, but first I would encourage you to post your product number for your computer. I am linking an HP Support document below that will show you how to find your product number. As well, if you could indicate which operating system you are using. And whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit as with this and the product number I can provide you with accurate information.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Please re-post with the requested information and I would be happy to provide you with assistance. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

I have bought the wireless keyboard for my iPad.  I was working for a day but now the power light won't stay on and as such won't connect to the iPad.  I have changed the batteries but still no difference.

Not knowing which wireless keyboard you bought, it is difficult to be specific.  but ...
it is quite normal for the keyboard's power light not to stay on - it is a way of conserving battery power.
    Try this:
    turn you keyboard off
on your iPad go to Settings > Bluetooth
if your keyboard is listed under Devices, then touch the little blue i to its right and choose Forget this Device
now reset your iPad:  hold both the Home and Power buttons down for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears, let go promptly when the Apple logo appears and wait another 30 seconds for your iPad to turn itself on
After your iPad is back on again go back to Settings > Bluetooth
now turn your keyboard back on and see if it appeard under Now Discoverable
if it doesn't read your keyboard guide to figure out how to put it into Discovery mode
touch the listing for your keyboard under Now Discoverable, it should now appear under Devices
touch the listing for you keyboard under Devices, and choose to pair with it.

  • My imac won't startup past the spinning gear and my apple keyboard is wireless but it won't connect, how do I fix the problem so I can get into safe mode?

My imac won't startup past the spinning gear and my apple keyboard is wireless but it won't connect, how do I fix the problem so I can get into safe mode?
Can anybody help me on this issue? I have already tried to replace the batteries but since the computer won't get past the spinning wheel of death then the keyboard won't connect.

Please follow Apple's advice in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570. If you need to get your hands on a wired USB keyboard, even a PC one will work fine.
Do not follow the previous poster's advice, that option is a "last chance" option. OS X is stable and in most cases a reinstall is never needed. Follow the directions in Apple's letter.

  • I have an RK713A wireless keyboard which will not connect

I have an RK713A wireless keyboard which will not connect. The mouse is working fine but the keyboard won't. I have tried pressing the blue connect button on the back of the keyboard.

    Hi,
There are a couple of quick things to check-
Make sure that the batteries are good (I'd suggest trying a fresh set) and make sure that they are inserted correctly.
    Has the keyboard ever worked?
    Thanks,

  • G4 suddenly won't connect to internet

My g4 running 10.5.7 suddenly won't connect to the internet. It connects to the wireless network fine, but says it isn't connected to the internet. MAc mini and macbook pro (both running 10.4.11) and iPod touch all connect to network and internet without any problem. The g4 was working fine, then suddenly couldn't connect.

    More info....
Even though I've got 4 airport bars, when I go to airport utility on the G4, no wireless devices show up. All devices appear in AP utility on other machines.

  • HT203646 Apply wireless keyboard no longer will connect to MacBook Pro?

I'm on the latest version of OS and my Apply wireless keyboard has been working find for a couple of months until today.  It will not even find the keyboard when i go into settings and try to setup a wireless keyboard.  If i go into bluetooth settings, the keyboard shows but not connected.  If i click and tell it to connect it will not.  My Apple wireless mouse is working fine.
I changed the batteries in my keyboard still nothing.  I restarted my macbook and still nothing.  I can take my wireless keyboard and it will sync up fine with my iPad.
    Any suggestions?
    thank you

What wireless router do you have exactly??
Could it have failed? If it is an apple router.. do a full factory reset and start over.
Give all short names to the airport.. eg AEgenx and AE24ghz and AE5ghz for each band.. this helps to figure out what is wrong. No security for now until the test proves it is connecting.
Now connect to either band.. no luck then also try AE24ghz on fixed channels.. test 11, 9, 6, 1 in that order..
If it is successful immediately put on security.. WPA2 Personal with a 10-20 character pure alphanumeric password.
No luck or you have a non-apple router tell us more.

my wireless key board doesn't seem to communication with my computer even though bluetooth shows it is connected.  I have changed the batteries on the keyboard and when turn on the key board the green lights comes on shortly and disappears.  Can any one  help?

    Hey Annar99,
I found a few articles that might help with the issue you're encountering. These first two are if the Bluetooth keyboard you're using is the one that came with your iMac. The first is a general "how to" for setting up your Apple Wireless keyboard, while the second one is for troubleshooting if the advice in the first article isn't working:
Bluetooth: How to set up your Apple Wireless Keyboard
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1809
Troubleshooting wireless mouse and keyboard issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3048
If, on the other hand, you're using a third party keyboard, then I would take a look at the following article's troubleshooting section:
    Bluetooth Quick Assist
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1153#Tips
    Hope that helps,

  • Magic trackpad suddenly won't connect

I have a Mac Mini that I use solely for watching movies.  It's connected directly to my TV, works great.  I recently had to change the batteries, now it takes forever to connect.  Formerly, whenever I turned the Mini on, the Trackpad connected right away.  Now it takes forever and sometimes won't connect.  When I turn it on, I get a solid green light for a few seconds, then nothing, no flashing light like it is trying to pair.  Everything is up to date.  Any suggestions?

If you are not comfortable taking the bottom off, have Apple do it for you.  If you want to do it yourself, it requires a #00 Phillips driver.
    Ciao.
If you do choose to do it yourself, note that three screws near the hinge are longer than the rest.
If the battery is swollen, it should be replaced.
