My work calendar is gone off of ical and icloud. how do i restore this from time machine

last night i opened reminders and there was new list with the same name as my work calendar. i immediately deleted it as i don't want my reminders to show up on a shared work calendar. now this morning i find out by deleting this NEVER CREATED REMINDER LIST, my work calendar has been deleted as well. is there a way to restore this calendar from time machine?

Hey there,
It sounds like you're still having trouble exposing the proper library folder. You can use the following terminal command to do it globally (this will show all hidden files)
Open Terminal from your appliications folder and copy/paste this into it:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE (press return)
**After that last line you'll need to restart the finder so use:
killall Finder (press return)
Now if you enter Time Machine the correct Library should be visible. To re-hide your hidden files repeat the process above but replace TRUE with FALSE, then use the "killall Finder" again.
I agree with the commenters above, you should restore the Mail library to the desktop and then re-import it to Mail. This is how I was instructed to solve this problem by Mac help, who I chatted with online for quite a while before they figured it out.
Hope this helps

  • HT4901 Can I restore my calendars and reminders from iCal?  If not, can I restore them from Time Machine?

Apparently I allowed iCloud to delete all of my calendar and reminder information from my Mac.
Can I restore it from iCloud, if not can I restore it from Time Machine?

It sounds as though it's not in iCloud anymore.
You may find that restoring from Time Machine results in the information simply disappearing again. You might try this: disable iCloud syncing, restore from Time Machine, re-enable syncing and choose the merge option when presented.

  • Entourage 2008 calendar deleted. How can i restore it from time machine backup?

I have my Entourage 2008 calendar sync with ical. I accidentally deleted Entourage on the left column of ical, and it deleted the calendar on on Entourage. I want to restore the calendar. I have used time machine to backup my hard drive. I just don't know how or what to do.

    Quit iCal.
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, copy the text on the line below into the box that opens, and press return:
    ~/Library/Calendars
Enter Time Machine and restore the selected folder from the last snapshot that was taken before the deletion. Relaunch iCal and test.

  • In Ical I lost one of my calendar group, how do I restore it from time capsule

in Ical i lost one of my calendar groups, how do I get it back.  I have a time capsule.
    thanks

    salvsalinas,
Look in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library Folder, where you will find a "Calendars" Folder, which can be replaced using Time Machine.
Make sure that you quit iCal before attempting to replace the folder, and choose a timeline when the group last existed.
    Good Luck.

  • Restored Aperture from Time Machine backup.  No longer works :(

I have a late 2007 Aluminum iMac with a 500gb hard drive which decided to go about 2 weeks ago. I had apple care put a new one in. Everything works well except Aperture. If I try to launch the application it immediately comes back with a window saying that, "The application Aperture quit unexpectedly." If I click Relaunch a few times it prompts a Reset and Relaunch which does nothing. I have recently received 4gb of ram from crucial which doesn't work when all 4gb are installed but I am currently running 3gb and it works fine. (I have one gig of apple installed ram and a 2gb stick from crucial) Could the extra gig of ram be the issue? I am tempted to delete the program and reinstall it but I am not sure if that will also delete my 6,000 photos :/
    Any ideas?

I would first try deleting the preference file.
    username/library/preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist
    If that didn't work I'd try a re-install.
Deleting the app should not affect the library, but is it not backed up in a "vault" anyway.
Don't really know if the ram could be an issue.

  • Restoring keychain from Time Machine didn't work...

This morning I thought I was deleting the keychain password to one account, when I accidentally deleted all of my keychain storage items.  I followed the directions from the Support Community to restore the Keychain Folder using my Time Machine backup.  I even restored the .plist files.
However, now when I open a site in Safari, only the user name is pre-populated, but not the password.  When Safari asks me if I want to save the password in my Keychain, an error message pops up telling me "A keychain cannot be found to store password."   I'm given the option to Cancel or Reset to Defaults.  I'm not sure what to do.  I'm even afraid to restart my Mac fearing I won't be able to log in or connect to my wifi network.
I also cannot get any of my emails through the Mail application.  It keeps prompting me to enter my password, but then won't allow me to hit the Okay button b/c it's grayed-out.
Aaagh!  Any suggestions, brilliant Mac users?
These were the directions I thought I followed accurately from the Support Community & Help Forum:

  • Restore an iCal calendar from Time Machine

    HELP!
I stupidly deleted one of my iCal calendars. How do I restore it from Time Machine?
    Please Help me!

I found this on another thread and it worked well for me.
    Here are the instructions:
    1. Quit iCal, and enter Time Machine.
    2. Choose the timeline that you want to use for your restore.
    3. Select your "Home" Folder.
    4. Open the "Library" Folder.
    5. Click on the "Calendars" Folder.
    6. Choose "Restore Calendars To..." from the Action Menu (Gear Icon).
    7. Select the Home/Library Folder for the destination.
NOTE: After doing this (running lion) i found that i had to search in the search bar to find the Library folder to restore it to. After it's restored, the folder called "Calendars (Original)" is the one you want to use. Move the "Calendars" folder to the trash and delete "(Original)" from the folder name, and re open iCal. If this works, you can go ahead and empty the trash!
    Good luck!

  • How can I restore a deleted calendar from time machine

I accidentally deleted one of my calendars.  How can I restore it from time machine?

I'm not sure why it didn't work.  I deleted the old Calendar folder and then replaced it with a Time Machine version of the same folder from the previous day.  Then I opened iCal and there was still nothing there.
The reason I just deleted Calendar folder and it's sub-folders and tried to start from scratch is because I could tell which sub-folder was for any one specific calendar since the sub-folder names were in some sort of code.

  • ICal restore from Time Machine backup

I accidentally deleted some iCal appointments, does anyone know how I can restore them from Time Machine?  It seems a bit cryptic in the Library files

Wow! When I loaded Time Machine from the disc icon on the LHS of the screen it did nothing. When I loaded it from the icons at the top of the screen it went to the Library location in Time Machine. There were a few bizarre occurrences in the restore that necessitated me doing it several times but in the end I got my stuff back. Thank you for your help. It would be useful for dopes like me to know that there's a difference in the system's response between the two on-screen manifestations of Time Machine. One presumably refers to the drive itself, the other to the application. Pity I didn't know the difference. May I add a comment on Apple's HELP menus? They're as poorly designed, as clumsy and as useless as any SEARCH functions I've encountered anywhere on the internet. I enter a perfectly simple and unchallenging query and it takes from one minute to three minutes to come up with a response. If the content of the query is not exactly and precisely the same as some entry in the HELP application one gets no response. And even when it gets a response it can take something close to forever, to the point where I resort to Apple HELP only in circumstances of absolutely dire necessity, assuming that the query is pointless anyway. And it almost always is.  Can't Apple do better than this? Maybe they need some help from Google?

  • All itunes data gone...can I reload from Time Machine and external HD

Okay, so maybe I was the stupid one and deleted all of my ITunes library....don't yell, I just wanted to free up some HD space...
Fortunately I use Time Machine and an external HD to back everything up..can I reload my Itunes library from Time Machine and the external HD..can anyone walk me through the process?

    Hi there,
I've done some searching and i haven't been able to find the answer to this problem. I am wondering if someone can help me with this.
My HD was faulty so i had it replaced.  my complete 300gb music library was backed up on an external HD. The iTunes program was running on my local HD. So i ran the local iTunes off of my ext. HD.
Now that i have a new HD and i restored everything from Time Machine,
Did you restore the entire disk from Time Machine?
Boot from your System install DVD then Restore from backup and select the Time Machine drive?

  • Restoring iCal from Time Machine/Older HD

SO here's the deal. I upgraded my harddrive in my MBP over the weekend. Doubled it size to 500GB joy! What I decided to do once I got a blank copy of Lion on it was to restore just the user info, system settings and "other files" from the Time Machine back up I have (not from the old hard drive). Allowing me to install only the Applications I would really need after all my user info was on the computer and clearing up some more space.
    This worked GREAT!
When I opened my iCal I had duplicate calendars. So, I deleted some of the duplicates. Apparently I deleted the wrong ones, and now ALL my calendars are gone. And before you ask, no, I didn't setup my TimeMachine (I decided to test things out before erasing that backup and start fresh with my new system)
BUT, I still have the old Time Machine backup AND I still have my old/smaller HD hooked up via USB.
My question is, where can I grab the iCal info from (Time Machine or my old HD) or do I need to start the process all over again just to get my calendars back?
    Thanks in advance

New development... I was going to recreate my calendars while I waited and I found that I couldn't name a new calendar the same as one of my deleted calendar... (ie: I couldn't recreate a calendar called "Home") so, by going into preferences and digging around a little I found something strange? Under my default calendars it shows my current list of calendars, but my reminders shows all my OLD (deleted) calendars?? (see images)
SIDE NOTE (I'm only concerned with the top iCloud account
