  • World Clock Time Zone Errors

    Does anyone have the answer to this please. My 9500 communicator world clock facility has an error I can't seem to correct. I have it set to Home city - London and distant city Madrid (I use Madrid for Alicante) as I travel between London and Alicante frequently. There is only ever 1 hour difference in the time at either end BUT the Nokia software dictates a continual persistant TWO hours difference. Help appreciated - thanks. Dave

    Had tried this before and noticed for some reason I could have one or the other turned on - never both.
    Have today downloaded the latest clock release and now CAN have both turned on.
    Thanks for the tip mobile_maniac.

  • I photo will not email photos even when my email address is correct and I am on line. Is there a setting a I have missed? It used to work :-)

    i photo will not email photos even when the email address is correct and I am online. I get a message that my server is maybe down but it is not. Anything to do with a setting I have missed? Thank you

    In iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete and re-enter the information for that account
    Or better yet IMHO set Apple Mail as the e-mail client

    I would say that you would want to look into the "Exchange Mode" for GMail.  That would allow your iPhone to sync calendars, contacts and email with GMail just fine.  Doing the same with your outlook should also then sync those same with your PC using Outlook.  I've done teh iPhone side of this, but I since I don't run Lookout for my email client, I'm not sure how that will work on the PC side.

  • Widgets world clock can't change country when I update to Mountain Lion

    Hello everyone,
    When I update to Mountain Lion (from Lion), the widgets world clock can't change other country (the clock can't show the information button).
    Is this a bug ? Do you have the same problem ?
    My mac is Macbook Pro (2011 Later)
    Thanks

    I had the same problem. It looks I was able to fix this using the steps below:
    1. Make sure you have a current backup, such as a Time Machine backup!
    2. Go into Dashboard and close the World Clock widget(s).
    3. Rename or trash the file:
    ~/Library/Preferences/widget-com.apple.widget.worldclock.plist
    I'm not sure if it's needed but I also deleted:
    ~/Library/Preferences/widget-com.apple.widget.worldclock.plist.lockfile
    4. Open Terminal and type the following command (case-sensitive): killall Dock
    See if that works.

  • Help with time issue needed.  World Clock times 1hr ahead of correct time

    although the time on the iPhone home screen is right (top of screen). That is, since I'm in central time, the iPhone shows, say 5:14 (time now) but a city in World Clock in central zone shoes 6:14. Other cities in other zones are off by the +1hour amount. Many calls to Apple and AT&T, now the finger pointing has started.
    Multiple phones in my location have the same problem. All three in our family, two owned by a colleague and 2 on display at the AT&T store.
    The problem clears up when I'm well out of the area, say Nashville or Bowling Green but reappears when I'm back home in West Kentucky. AT&T says their network is fine, must be the phone or app; Apple says since multiple phones with several versions of the operating system are showing the issue, must be AT&T.
    Ideas?

    I am having the same issue (clocks not matching) with my iPod Classic. Definitely not an AT&T issue!

  • Incorrect world clock time

    Hello,
    It seems that the iphone is incorrectly reporting the time for Sao Paulo, Brazil. In Washington, DC where I live, it's currently 8:30PM and the iphone is reporting the time is 9:30PM in Sao Paulo when in fact it's really 10:30PM in Brazil. Their timezone is currently 2 hours ahead.
    Is this a problem that I can fix?
    Thanks

    Maybe it's a daylight savings time thing? DST in various countries is on all different dates. Are those times only an hour off? Possibly they have gone to standard time and that throws everything off until we go back to it also.

  • TS2446 I have been through all of the settings & done what was indicated however, my Apple ID that shows on my iphone when I want to update my apps is incorrect even though all the settings are correct in Settings/Store. Now what can I do???

    The Apple ID on my iPhone is incorrect when trying to update apps.  It is correct in my Settings.  I have signed out & signed back on & this does not make any difference.  I have also changed my password and that doesn't help.  HOW can I correct the incorrect Apple ID that only shows when I try to update apps?? I would appreciate help!  THANKS!

    Even if you put a credit or debit card on file with iTunes it will still use your balance FIRST.
    I would suggest putting a card on file and testing to see if it will allow you to make a purchase, then removing the card from the account after successful download of an item.

  • Incorrect album art on iPhone even when I try to manually correct the album art in iTunes.

    I recently replaced my iPhone 3GS with a new iPhone 4S. The album art is fine when viewed via my iMac in iTunes, but when I sync an album to my phone, it gives it a random album cover from my library instead of the correct one. I go to iTunes and manually re-upload the album art but when I sync again it's still incorrect. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    I think I have the same problem with an iPhone 3GS running 6.0.1 and iTunes 10.7.  I didn't have this problem with 6.0.0.  My album artwork is fine in iTunes but when I transfer it to my iPhone, I get either the wrong album art or no album art.  I've tried deleting the music from the phone and re-adding it.  I rebuilt the album art cache.  I reformatted all my music as an audiobook and then back to music (don't laugh - this worked for someone!).   I loaded Media Monkey to see if there was something wrong with my mp3 files.  My mp3 files are fine and if I load my iPhone with Media Monkey, the artwork is fine.    I think the problem is that the vast majority of my music is 300 bps or better mp3 files.  Even if the artwork is imbedded in the mp3 file,  iTunes is doing something wacky with the album art and I can't figure out how to fix it.   If it weren't for all my iTunes playlists, I would just use Media Monkey to manage my music on my iPhone.

  • Clock alarm goes off even when selected to off position

    Updated my iPhone4 with IOS 7.2 and now the clock alarm still goes off even with the on/off selector in the off position.  I deleted the alarm and re-entered it and it still does this.  Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

    Hello!  I recently got the ihome ih11 and was having the same problem on and off. I found out that even though the manual says the ipod has to off and docked for the ipod to go off on alarm,  but I learned ipod does need to be on, but closed out play mode on home screen. Since doing this I've woke to my ipod every morning. Try it and see if that works. I have the ipod touch 2nd generation. Hope this helps!

  • Error Code 88 with Pixma Pro9500, even when art margins are set correctly

    I'm getting error code 88 (from the CanonPro9500 series print monitor window) when attempting to print on an A3Plus art paper (Hahnemuehle William Turner), even though I have the paper size set correctly (in the Photoshop Print Dialog, Print Settings) to "Art A3+(Margin 35)".
    (Furthermore – though most of the following options probably have nothing to do with the problem, and are probably the correct or allowable settings anyway – I'm using Canon Color Matching; MediaType: "Fine Art Museum Etching"; Paper Source: Front Tray; PrintQuality: High; and am printing in color, not grayscale.  Color Options are all left set at zero.)
    I’m printing from Photoshop CS5 Extended,Version 12.0 x64, using an iMac with MacOSX10.6.8.  The Canon Printer Driver is “Pro9500 Driver – CUPS Version10.51.2.0”, recently installed (or re-installed) just the other day when I wastrying to deal with this problem (I didn’t check the CUPS version beforereinstalling the driver, so I don’t know if this could be relevant).
    (I also attempted to print by setting, in Paper Handling, "Scale to fit paper size", with Destination PaperSize set also to the suggested Art A3+ (Margin 35), although I never had to do this in the past, and so I don't suppose it matters. Still, this did not help.)
    I had the same problem attempting to print on an A4 art paper, as one is supposed to do, using front loading and the paper size set to Art A4 (Margin 35), with Media Type set to "Fine Art PremiumMatte" (it was a matte art paper). No go; I got error 88.  Iwas able to print on the same sheet by setting "Matte Photo Paper"(while still using Front Loading), but this is not the media type one shoulduse for such a paper.
    In the past few years I have printed 8-bit files, in both AdobeRGB and sRGB, on A4 and A3Plus art papers, in both color and grayscale, always using the art margin settings, without any such difficulties.  Typically I use Color Management by Printer, or “Canon Color Matching” (though I experimented with the use of dedicated paper profiles and Color Management by Photoshop).  Lately I’m trying to print 16-bit files, generally Photoshop PSD or TIFF, with a document profiles of sRGB, AdobeRGB, or ProPhotoRGB. Of course I tried several times to print from an 8-bit file, and once using Color Management by Photoshop, but got error 88 just the same.
    Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?  Sure hope so!  Thanks in advance, AlienAl

    Remember that  you can set all your paddings in a single setting for a div. It's like a clock, starting in the 12:00 oClock setting, going clock wise.
    #myDiv     {
         padding:5px 0 5px 0;
    You don't specify a unit with 0 so the above would be the same as:
    #myDiv     {
         padding-top:5px;
         padding-right:0;
         padding-bottom:5px;
         padding-left:0;
    It works with margins also, etc...

  • IOS Incorrect Password when I put in the correct password?

    I have had problems with all four iOS devices on my network for three days. It started Thursday (2/12/15) evening, and has been happening ever since. It has to be a relatively global problem because I have a friend in IT who says all of the 40+ iPads on his network have the same problem. My 2 iPhones and 2 iPads will not connect to my WiFi, and when I type in the password (which I know by heart and have verified several times) it says it's an incorrect password. If I go into my router and change the password and then change it back, the devices will connect again. This seemed to have fixed it -- until mid-day today. I haven't tried any resets yet, I wanted to see if anyone else has had a problem. I believe all the devices are on iOS 8. There are 2 iPad 2s, an iPhone 5S, and an iPhone 5C. My network has no problems with my android phone or several laptops. We have never had issues before. The network is secured using WPA2-PSK.

    The password is your login password for your account on your own local system.
    This password is not the password associated with your AppleID.
    This password entry ensures that you are confirming that potentially significant changes can be made to your operating system.  This prompt is intended to increase the difficulty for an attacker intent on loading malware onto your OS X system.
    The reason you don't have to do this on (older) Microsoft Windows systems (and many of these are running with the Administrator-level access) is also why these (older) Windows releases can tend to get infected; there's no control over who does what within the operating system files and directories.
    Newer Microsoft Windows versions can and be and often are configured for something similar to the Mac authentication dialogs with the user account control (UAC) mechanisms; these prompt for authentication before making changes.

  • Can't reconnect to sync from work - firefox login fails with "Incorrect password" when I know it is correct

    I can happily connect my home computers and phone to sync and I have confirmed they sync between themselves. However, my work computer has recently stopped being able to sync where it has previously been fine for well over a year. I am on the latest version of sync and Firefox 35.0.1 (both at home and work).
    When I try to reconnect to sync I am directed to the "Sign in to continue" page. It has my correct email address/account name. I enter my password (clicking "Show" to make sure it's correct) but then it always fails with "Incorrect password" in a red banner at the top. I have checked the password is correct and logged out and back in from home using the same password so I know that is correct. I have tried this logged in to work via remote desktop so I could do both at the same time to make sure there isn't just a prevailing sync server problem.
    Obviously my work computer is behind a proxy/firewall. I have recently had to add a new certificate as a result of proxy changes to get internet connectivity working. Anecdotally, I think sync stopped working at a similar time - but it's always easy to remember these things differently when you're looking for a solution. So this could be a red herring.
    Your help in getting this fixed would be much appreciated!

    Thanks for your reply.
    i've deleted all cookies, although I don't really understand how that relates. I have also spoken to our sysadmin who says we don't block access to firefox accounts per se, we do block all file-esque uploads. However, I am not sure this would make any difference to the exact problem I am seeing which is that I can't sign in to my firefox sync account. But maybe signing in to this account is different to a "normal" account - maybe there is more of a two way handshake which relies on sending some encrypted data which appears to our proxy like a file being uploaded out of the company.
    I got a slightly different error on my latest clear down and retry, in that the sign in just waited forever (overnight) without success.
    Any further help gratefully received...

  • Does the computer lock me after a certain amount of failed password attmepts, even when i finally have the correct password? recently changed root account password, but then forgot today and when tried again didn't work.  if so, how long does lock last?

    Ok. So I just changed my ADMINISTRATIVE ROOT PASSWORD the other day and when I tried to log in today I forgot it.  I tried different variations of
    the password I had set, because I wasn't sure if i had maybe set it in Caps Lock or used a different number in the sequence.  I got the message several times
    about "too many attempts, try again later".  Does the computer lock me from signing in even with the correct password after a certain amount of failed
    attempts?  If so, how long does this lock last for?  When can I try again?  Or is there something I need to do to remove that lock now?  I'm pretty sure I
    had the right password finally but it still wouldn't accept it.
    Also, I don't have any other administrative users set up on my macbook pro.  I'm the only one who uses it, so I've always just used that original User from my
    original setup.

    Do this:
    1. Reboot
    2. Hold apple key + s key down after you hear the chime. (command + s on newer Macs)
    3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):
    (Type these commands very carefully)
    mount -uw /
    rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
    shutdown -h now
    4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can change the passord on the old one.
