My X1 always forgets the setting "Do nothing when lid is closed"

Dear all,
when I set the setting "Do nothing when lid is closed" in the global settings and in all other settings, this setting seems to be resetted each restart...
Driver are up2date....
Any ideas?

Make sure the Ring/Silent switch isn't showing a red bar or dot.
If that isn't it, try disconnecting the headphones and adjusting the the volume.
If the iPhone says headphones when you adjust the volume, there could be something in the headphone jack.
You can try disconnecting and reconnecting the headphones 5-6times or restoring the iPhone.

Have you checked Spam? I have noticed recently in my Gmail that Google sends some mails from Apple to the Spam folder.

Do you know which iMac model family you have? There are four families dating back to 1998. Troubleshooting depends on that. This forum covers the first three families made from 1998 to 2005. iMacs newer than that get a separate forum.
Do you have the system disks that came with the computer? If so, and depending on model, you may be able to start from the CD/DVD and then make the jump to booting normally.
All computers has a little battery on the logic board that holds date, time, and some important startup parameters when the compuer is taken off wall power for a short time. If your battery was very old and died, then the settings the computer needs to start may have been lost when you unplugged it. For some Mac modles, booting from a CD or DVD gets around this temporarily, but ultimately the battery needs to be replaced. The internal batteries are cheap but can be hard to access on some iMacs like the G4 "desklamp" model

Why? Because something is wrong.
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Did you get the flash drive from a reliable source. There are some available on the net that show a large capacity but are only 512 mb. or 1 gb. drives that have been altered to display a much larger capacity.

How do i change the setting so that when i close windows with multiple tabs, they will ask questions ' save pages' or 'quit' or 'cancel'.

Firefox now always stores the old session, and you can access it by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session"
If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.

My program always displays the same image, even when I change th image file

I'm making a program that chooses an image file from a dialog, resize it and copy it into a folder. When the image is needed to be displayed, the image file is read and a JLabel displays it on screen.
When I upload the first image, everything works fine. The problem appears when I upload another picture: the displayed image is still the first image, even when the old file doesn't exist anymore (because it has been overwritten). It looks like the image has been "cached", and no more image are loaded after the first one.
This function takes the image picture chosen by the user, resizes it, and copy it into the pictures folder:

When you flush() the image, you don't need to construct a new ImageIcon each time, a simple repaint() will suffice.

MacBook Pro 13" Retina 2013 always waking up when lid is closed.

When I used "pmset -g log" i see "Total Sleep/Wakes since boot at 11/15/13, 9:26:46 PM PST :449"
This happens sometimes, i noticed the most recent time this happened when I unplugged the charger while the lid is closed. I left it for a few hours and i realized the computer was hot. Then i checked the logs and saw the above.

+1, I'm seeing the exact same behaviou on my new 13" Retina as well.

How do i change the setting so that when i type something in the address bar, it searches with google. it's started using yahoo and i hate yahoo, i'm even considering leaving firefox

somethings i type something in the address bar, like 'paypal', mozilla used to go straight to that website, which was helpful... then it started searching with google, this i was not too upset about... however now it has started searching with yahoo, this i am upset about, and i would like to change this, however i do not know how?

HT3228 everytime I open my e-mail on my I phone I get the same messages delivered as new even if i have previously deleted them. How can I change the setting to where when I delete them off my handheld they do not reload

I have a problem with e-mail--everytime I open or push my e-mail I get the same messages delivered over again even if I have deleted them previously. is there a setting I can change that once I delete them they are gone?

Without more info, we can only guess, but most likely you're using a POP server account, and have it set to leave the email on the server after downloading (in order to make it available to other devices/clients). When you delete the email from your inbox, it just gets re-downloaded.
The solution is to set the account to delete the email from the server as soon as downloaded to your device. On the phone:
Settings > Mail,.... > your account > Advanced > Incoming Settings > Delete from server > When removed from inbox.
If you access mail with multiple devices, you should use an IMAP account. POP accounts are designed for one client only.

My popup notification always has the same sender name when receiving Gmail emails, never the actual name?

I have four email addresses feeding into my Thunderbird (on mac) which I have used for years. In recent months, though, whenever I receive an email, the popup notification gives the sender as a person who occasionally emails me, never any other sender name. Is there any way I can stop this happening? It is annoying!! Thanks

I have had the same problem and I think I have a solution, at least one that is working for me.
In mail preferences - accounts - advanced, turn on "Use IDLE command if server supports it"
In mail preference - General, set Check for new messages: Manually.
Don't check for new messages manually, (still doesn't work) but wait for the IDLE command to push new messages to you.
This is for a GoDaddy mail server, using Apple Mail 7.1 on OS X 10.9.1.

Ipod touch always changes the time and date when synced

Since I got my touch, even before any updates etc, every time I sync it the time and date changes, usually back about a week or so. Anyone else got this problem or any solution as its really annoying me. A cutting edge bit of kit that has practically every function that works so well and the clock and calendar cant keep time? weird....

Not true in all cases, I updated to 2.0 and had 2 problems: One App had a Bug *NOT Apple`s fault*, and the second was another App ( again, not Apples fault ) that went back to home screen after opening. This was solved by a simple reset ( I have the first batch of Touches, 16 gb ). And the battery thing, I haven`t noticed it at all, I have an almost full charge, and have been using it for 4 days, never shut it down, only sleep mode when not in use.
